This year, as always, I'll dress in black, play in the night, sing in the shadows, demo in the dark.

I need some gloomy heartbreak lyrics and will collab like crazy...

I am very pessimistic about this year's Fawm. I aim for one demo/week. Rest of the time I will sleep in my coffin, drink red wine and whine. Like I always do.

!!!THIS IS THE YEAR OF THE ANTI-KLAUS!!!

EDIT Wednesday the 28th of February.

Anti-Klaus will be here in March to return all the comments. Maybe demo some songs if time permits.

Comeback of Klaus is possible for a song or two. He'll likely do some of that annoying happy hippie music again. ๐Ÿ˜ž What a wuss! ๐Ÿ˜ž

Late comment but if you're still checking by thank you so much for listening to my album that many times! It made me so happy to see the green bar in my Bandcamp stats, it really means a lot to me for someone to actually listen to my album like that. Thank you thank you thank you! and yes, nothing like a little Karelia action.

  • @audrey  Mar 16

Thanks Klaus for the great comment on my song "Blueberry Island". I actually did get out to the island at the end of that last summer. I just wanted to convey the longing in my song. My Dad got my older brother to row me out to the island. Its grass was very coarse and sharp on bare feet, but I walked around a bit. Didn't find any blueberries, though. When I think of Blueberry Island, it's the gazing at it and longing to go to it that I remember most. Some years ago, my husband, son, and I took a Thousand Island tour boat cruise, but the cruise didn't go far enough east to see Blueberry Island, which sits in front of a small bay on the southern side of Grenadier Island, an island on the Canadian side of the St. Lawrence. I think I just found a satelite image of it on Google Maps. How exciting! Don't know if you can see it, but our dock with boathouse was the 2nd from the right in the crescent-shaped bay. 44.3964935,-75.8814868,376m/data=!3m1!1e3">https://www.google.ca/maps/@44.396493...

  • @quork  Mar 7

Thanks for the offer, Klaus/antiklaus. Iโ€™ll see how it goes. One is a falling in line be song that would not be appropriately gloomy. Iโ€™ll think about the other one.

  • @katey Mar 3

Thanks for your comment. Much appreciated.

  • @cindyrella  Mar 2

Thanks so much for your kind words! Been a couple rough days with the little girl dying. I just couldn't do much. I hope sometime we can work together again!

  • @darcistrutt  Mar 1

Thank you for your visit and for your kind words. I love the tags on your locked songs. They make me smile. Smiling is good.

  • @rayboneor  Mar 1

Judas...well that makes me think about it differently. It would be great if you dropped a tiny hint in there, nothing too obvious.

Here's a challenge: Take the same basic tracks and make 14 different songs, songs so different that the casual listener wouldn't notice the underlying similarity. I've been kind of surprised how much melodic mileage you can get while just moving between c and f every other measure

  • @tunecat  Feb 28

Hey Klaus. Just checked out the uploaded three way collab.. sounds great!

  • @jibbidy34  Feb 24

Congratulations Centurion Soldier! You wrote 100 comments for your fellow FAWMers!! You made this place even better. You took your time to listen to other people's songs and you have 100 thank you's from all of them and from me! Hereโ€™s your badge. Excellent work and keep bustingโ€™ those zongs!!

  • @audrey  Feb 23

Thank you for your great comment on Evening Echo. I appreciate it.

  • @tunecat  Feb 22

Hi Klaus. I've resent the gloomy track via retransfer. It's 146BPM I think. This song has some gloomy lyrics http://fawm.org/songs/81777/ ...

  • @gemhughs Feb 19

Thanks for the listen & the kind comments on "Me Too"...

  • @francessmith Feb 19

Hello Klaus, no I don't know any black midi music that is more like mine (apart from my other track NGC2392). I was trying to create something more listenable, but with a high number of notes, that creates a rush of sound, as they peak. I really enjoyed doing it, if you want to try as well it would be really good, we can create a new sub genre!

To build it I used Ableton live, 5 tracks, and used the midi editor/piano roll. I started with the chord of C major, I think it was, then added another layer of notes, every 2 bars, some as part of the triad, and others chromatic, the next "white" note up on the piano roll. With different patterns for each track. That's a rough guide. I didn't try to change chord, that was way too complicated!

  • @francessmith Feb 18

Thanks for your comment on Picture of the winter. You've exceeded your original target for songs for fawm, I see. This seems to me like a very good thing.

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 18

Awww Klaus thanks for all of the very generous kind words and support. It is very sweet of you. It is the kindness of people like you that are helping me try to move beyond my comfort zone.

  • @cindyrella  Feb 18

Thanks Klaus! And I did change it to kicks ๐Ÿ˜€ Kind of like it.

  • @barbara  Feb 18

Oh no! I see you are running ahead of your pessimistic prediction. More wine!

  • @metalfoot  Feb 17

I got the joke. ๐Ÿ˜€ I am really glad you are doing FAWM. I love your musical skills!

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 17

I absolutely can stand and love finnish people my ex (my kids father) is half finnish:) Thanks for your kind comments. I appreciate it very much.

  • @phoenixash Feb 17

Thank you for you nice comments, let's paint this world beautiful with grimmer colors ^^ Nice job so far, keep going

  • @ferry0123 Feb 17

Oh, that would be nice, Klaus, you rock! It also would be cool to hear what vocal melody you have (had) in mind, so you'd expand my melody horizons ๐Ÿ˜€. Feel free to sing yourself too. Big thanks from the lukewarm bath I'm in.

  • @airbagtester  Feb 17

That's cool; I can send you stereo .wavs of the individual stems once I finish setting up dropbox. I might not get back to you until this evening though probably. Thanks!

  • @ihelen Feb 17

Thank you for listening to the valentine song and for your kind comments. Lovely Chaos sounds like a great band name. And I am grateful for your pardon as well. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @kovbleu  Feb 17

Thanks for thinking of me. I'm just about to head out of the country for vacation for the next week (sitting at the airport right now), so my fawming is on pause for a bit.

  • @airbagtester  Feb 17

Oops! Sorry for jumping the gun - I will send you a link to a stereo .wav and wait until you want me to add you as a collaborator.

EDIT: Oops again, I need to find a file hosting service that will allow a 50mb .wav file. I will open a Dropbox account and get back to you.

  • @airbagtester  Feb 17

Hi Klaus! Sure, if you want to add some bass and vocals on "Louder to Matter" that would be cool! Let me know what you need, i.e. if you need the instrument stems or if the .mp3 mix is enough. Should I go ahead and add you as a collaborator on the song?

  • @quork  Feb 16

Many thanks for your constructive criticism on The World Is Bigger. I think you're onto something re. the generic lyrics. I had the chorus, which I thing is strong, and quickly wrote verses around it. Of the four songs I've come up with I think it's the weakest. Perhaps I'll revisit it after February and try to make it more real. Appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment.

  • @majordanby  Feb 16

Thanks Klaus. Make A Wish was supposed to be about the wonders of technology, but I donโ€™t own a computer and am not really sure if everything is better. The Stones and The Beatles are great. Good to see you got some songs down, I will have a listen over the weekend. (Karl).

  • @cindyrella  Feb 15

Thanks Anti-Klaus for all your great comments on my lyrics!

  • @writeandwrong  Feb 15

Haa! Of course I remembered, silly ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ Ohh, but to think I could have started all this Anti-Klausness, phew!! That's a huge weight to carry... tho I think we both do doom and gloom well ๐Ÿ˜ Every year I set out to write happy, positive songs. The happy to gloom ratio... FAIL! Yup! lol ๐Ÿ˜

  • @musicsongwriter Feb 15

Thank you Klaus for your warm note and for your amazing comments on so many songs. Sorry for not visiting your page earlier. Looking forward to hearing your songs and collaborations.
    Nadia

  • @writeandwrong  Feb 15

Haha! LOL Thanks for your kind words on "Hello, Hello"! He very well coulda been ๐Ÿ˜ To be honest, the person that came to mind as I was writing the lyrics is a long-time, dear friend who has a lot of deperession issues as a side effect from a disease he has. Took me awhile to quite understand the situation and we're still very good friends and accepting of what and why it is. He's like a sweet, but sad basset hound. I wish only the best for him. Fortunately, he finds comfort in music, very talented musician and writer who mentored me when I was in high school. Ooh, looky! You've got 3 songs I need to listen to!!!

  • @pambowen1 Feb 14

Ha-ha! Yes, Anti-Klaus, I thought I would lure you in with the first few lines of "More and More", but then it gets all lovey-dovey positive---totally not your genre. All the RED on display today should make you want to suck some necks! Slurp, slurp.

  • @jamkar  Feb 14

Thank you my friend for your always kind, and knowledgeable comments. The midi controller is a Yamaha P-115. The software is Kontakt Komplete with the Berlin Steinway sample vst.

  • @pbtaylorjr  Feb 14

Thank you for all of the nice comments. It must be Klaus and not anti-Klaus commenting though because there hasn't been enough blood. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @wacha  Feb 14

Thank you for your kind words on "Lady Jane" and "Join Me In Death".

  • @pambowen1 Feb 13

Thanks, Klaus, for commenting on "Lean In" and being sweet and encouraging. The other fawmer who said she saw no lyrics, I don't understand. I see them. Bless your heart. (and I don't mean it ironically like they do in the south)

  • @pambowen1 Feb 13

Thanks for taking a look at "Jesus Feeds Us" and for making your usual kind and encouraging remarks. I think that must have been the real Klaus talking, not the Anti-one. Smile and wink.

  • @cynthiawolff  Feb 13

    huomiseen?

  • @cynthiawolff  Feb 12

    OH boy Klaus!!
wow thanks for that bitchin comment which will make me feel HiGH for the rest of the day...
    mucho Gracias Amigo....

  • @chandra83  Feb 12

Hi there! ๐Ÿ˜€ You are welcome to demo " Darkness and Shadows" if you like. \m/

  • @francessmith Feb 12

Not totally clear, depends on your view on Koestler! Thanks for your comment on Island, that one used up all my easily accessible ideas. So I don't know how to follow it.

  • @tunecat  Feb 10

Hey Klaus. Hows it going? Fancy a collab (It was my track "Proto Guitar Man you layed down vocals for). I'm up for anything..

If you fancy some dark dark lyrics.. I can send..

  • @ferry0123 Feb 9

Hey Klaus.. I've been thinking. How about you sending me a drum track with a certain bpm with guitar chords being played (verses and choruses) and I add bass and some guitar melodies? Or me sending you such a track, so you can add bass and melodies? And then go from there, see what happens? If dark is the preferred flavor, I can go dark too.

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 9

Tack fรถr komplimangen . Det รคr sjรคlvklart en komplimang att bli jรคmfรถrd med en av de stรถrsta svenska musikerna. Glad att du gillade den.

  • @pambowen1 Feb 7

Thanks for taking time to read and comment on "Memento Mori". I am so pleased that ANti-Klaus liked the language of my gloomy song. LOL

  • @rayboneor  Feb 7

I am ready for the Anti-Klaus

  • @writeandwrong  Feb 7

Sounds good! Aww, take care of yourself! Life gets crazy sometimes, huh? Hang in there! Looking forward to hearing the tune! ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @pamgrisham Feb 6

My Dearest Klaus, have I told you lately that I love you?!! Well, I LOVE YOU!!! ๐Ÿ˜€ Thank you for your encouraging comments on The Real Thing. I'm sorry you're sad this FAWM. Still, you somehow manage to dig deep and pull out a bit of Klaus-sunshine to spread around. We are the better for it! You are so good to us! We/I'm so glad you are here at FAWM. I missed you last 5090. We ALL missed you.

  • @pambowen1 Feb 5

Klaus, thanks so much for taking time to comment on all my songs so far. You are so kind and encouraging. Now let me see what Anti-Klaus has been up to...

  • @pambowen1 Feb 5

So, Klaus, I have three songs up, and only one has been looked at by one Fawmer, not you. They are not gloomy, so I don't expect you to collab on them. But a comment would be nice. Dark and gloomy frowns to you, pooper!

  • @wolfkier Feb 4

    ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @barbara  Feb 3

Straight Plasma with an Rh- chaser, please,..

  • @barbara  Feb 3

...and a very merry, scary, wary month of FAWM to you too, dear Klaus! I am having a bit of a neighborly glass of red right now, so "cheers" to you and your coffin...

  • @headfirstonly  Feb 2

KLAUUUUSSSS! Good to see you, sir. But are you anti-Klaus, or *mirror universe* Klaus? Do you need to grow a goatee?

If it's too early for Star Trek references, I'm sorry but that's the way I roll. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @sheamiejay  Feb 2

    I guess I should un-watch you, anti-Klaus.

  • @writeandwrong  Feb 2

That would be awesome!! I was remembering this morning you asked for a dark song hehe ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @spirulence  Feb 2

Good to see you back, anti-Klaus! Hope you have a....miserable, wretched time? D:

But you'll probably have a great time being miserable. Cheers!
