Mario DeCaro graduated from Terra Nova in 1979. Finding his passion in wrestling, he attended San Francisco State University where he earned All-American status both his junior and senior year. In his senior year, Mario amassed an impressive 30-10 record and became the Far Western Conference champion in his weight class. After graduation, Mario did coaching stints at both Skyline College, where he helped produce the school's first state championship, and Half Moon Bay High School where he was instrumental in coaching one of his wrestlers to a high finish in the California State tournament. He also coached at Terra Nova. Now living in San Mateo, he works as an investment counselor with Fisher Investments and sits on the Board of Directors for the Support the Kid Foundation, an all-volunteer organization run by the DeCaro family that helps children with cancer.
