Nick Pope faces up to three months out with a shoulder injury, according to reports.
The Burnley and England goalkeeper dislocated his shoulder during the Clarets’ 1-1 draw with Aberdeen in the Europa League last week.
Pope, 26, was forced off after 14 minutes at Pittodrie and went to see a specialist to find out the full extent of the injury.
And ESPN FC claim the scans have revealed the glovesman will need to undergo surgery on the injured shoulder and is thus likely to miss the first three months of the 2018/19 Premier League season.
This comes as a major blow to Burnley boss Sean Dyche as Pope established himself as the first choice keeper before earning a place in England’s World Cup squad in the summer.
