Dwayne Haskins Jr., class of 2016 Bullis School (Potomac, Md.) quarterback, has seen his recruitment take off since this time last week. Friday, he attended the Eastern Regional Elite 11 in Washington, D.C., and has attained nine offers, including one from the Scarlet Knights, following a standout performance.

"A coach from Rutgers came by to see me, and talked to my coach about offering me. He said they like how accurate I am," Haskins, the 6-3, 185-pounder mentioned.

Haskins has multiple ties to the Scarlet Knights program as he grew up in Highland Park, N.J. There he honed his skills, while playing for the Edison Jets, and then, Somerville United under the tutelage of Rutgers football all-time great wide receiver Mohamed Sanu.

"He's a close family friend and he coached me in Pop Warner," Haskins said. "So he's like my uncle. In fact, I call him my uncle. We are not blood related, but we are really close."

Haskins is also familiar with multiple players on the Rutgers roster, including cornerback Nadir Barnwell and linebacker T.J. Taylor, and has followed the Scarlet Knights since a young child.

"It's a school that I grew up watching," he said. "I always liked Rutgers since I was a little kid."

Haskins moved to Gaithersburg, Md. as he transitioned to ninth grade, and took up football at the Bullis School. There, he's been enabled to showcase his skills, much to the pleasure of college coaches seeking high-level quarterback prospects.

"I would have to say my arm strength, accuracy, leadership and mobility are my strengths," he said. "I think I do everything well."

Although still early in his recruiting process, Haskins has a tentative top four list of schools.

"Definitely Ohio State, Rutgers, Florida and Florida State," he said.

Florida State, Florida, Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Nebraska, Arizona State, Boston College, Clemson, Mississippi State, Maryland, SMU, Utah and Temple are the additional schools to have extended offers.

However, since being put on the map less than a week ago, Haskins will likely receive endless opportunities.

"I did well," he said. "It definitely helped me get more and more looks from colleges because they were able to see wherever I go, I do well."

Haskins will visit Penn State Friday, but otherwise, has not set up any other trips.
