Following an extensive renovation, Cheltenham Ladies’ College will open its eagerly awaited new Health and Fitness Centre on Saturday 30 June 2018.
The opening of the facility marks a major landmark in the implementation of the school’s new strategy for engaging girls in sport and physical exercise, both at school and beyond. In SoGlos's interview with director of sport development Andy Borrie, he described the centre as a ‘game changer for girls at CLC’.
Cheltenham Ladies’ College’s new and improved centre includes a sports hall; multi-purpose activity studio; multi-purpose dance studio; five squash courts; and a 58-station fitness gym complete with free weights; a spin area; and an indoor rowing area.
Parents and guests will join Cheltenham Ladies’ College’s pupils and staff for the celebration on Saturday, when the fantastic new centre will be opened by Baroness Sue Campbell, FA Head of Women’s Football and former Chair of UK Sport and the Youth Sport Trust.
Following the official opening, there will be two pupil dance competitions, a sporting fairground for guests and a range of sporting sessions such as fencing, squash, cricket, and tennis.
There will also be a host of special activities, encompassing everything from golf and archery to an inflatable obstacle course in the pool and a Welly Wang challenge.
