Olly Moss (Art Director, Firewatch) has been hired by Valve

Hi Olly! Love your stuff, keep it up.

 

From what's been said, it seems to mostly be outside artists contracted for card art.

 

Makes sense, his style seems like it will fit right in at Valve.

 

Olly missed a huge opportunity for his Brand(tm) by not working on Oxenfree imo

 

Does this mean Olly is going back to working with Campo Santo on Valley of the Gods? *thinkingemoji*

 

Been an inspiration of mine since I was in uni doing design. Glad he’s finding new paths to explore and enjoy.

I'm a fan of Olly. I think he did the cover art for Resistance 3.

It'd actually be cool if he did some work for sales and stuff, like on the store when there's a big release they could have some custom art for it a la the Apple App Store recently.

Seriously how awesome would left 4 dead be with that art style.

 

1) Thumbs stuff will return eventually! I feel insanely overloaded still to be honest. Eg: We’re still working on Firewatch Switch along with everything else. (It’ll be at PAX along with a new Firewatch booth somehow??) But yes we want to keep doing podcasts and eventually we will.

2) Re: wallpapers — When we first built the original Campo Santo office, one of the first things Olly did was quietly place a J Allard behind the Windows logo of my default wallpaper. That would be harder at Valve since, unlike Campo, our office computers have passwords, so we’ll see.
