The near surface surveying using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) provides a digital sub-surface image in real-time. GPR measurements are capable of determining geological mapping, water content and the location of buried structures. GDS has access and utilises the latest GPR technology designed for the appropriate project and task. The exact equipment
specification and project requirements are defined during the
project planning and conception.
GDS provide the following services depending upon the
client’s individual requirements:
- Full data collection service
- Equipment rental complete with delivery and introduction into the equipment operation
- GDS operator to assist our clients with the equipment operation
Applications:
- Pipe & cable detection
- Water table assessment
- Geotechnical site investigation
- Non-destructive Testing
- Concrete inspection
Project example: Mexico City subway - October 2010
Target 1 is clearly visible whereby Target 2 is masked by electrical noise and maybe a false reading caused by the electrical noise.
Target 3 is less visible however it is repeatable on several survey lines and on both tracks.
Project example: Concrete slab, Tewksbury, UK - 2009
This image is from a project to detect the extent
of possible subsidence caused by wide area flooding beneath a concrete slab. The blue area shows an anomaly that was further investigated with a borehole. |
