It was a family affair in Balmoral this morning as the Queen and Prince Philip, looking fit and well in a rare public appearance, were joined by major royals including Zara and Mike Tindall, the Wessex family and the Duchess of Cornwall. With the Scottish heavens opening, the family drove the short distance to Crathie Kirk church to avoid the rain. The 97-year-old Duke of Edinburgh, who wasn't expected to make the annual summer trip north to Scotland, waved to well-wishers as the family made the journey for the Sunday service; Philip is reported to have been enjoying fishing on the River Dee during the annual extended break.

British woman saved TEN HOURS after falling into the sea from a cruise ship off coast of

A unnamed British woman has been pulled from the water after a ten hour search. The woman, who has not been named, is said to have fallen from cruising ship Norwegian Star around 60 miles from Pula, Croatia. She is thought to have gone overboard at around midnight on Saturday. The Croatian Coast Guard patrol ship 'Cavtat' found the woman and pulled her back up to safety. The captain Lovro Oreskovic said: 'We were extremely happy for saving a human life.'

Large crowds watched the £3billion warship HMS Queen Elizabeth (right) leave Portsmouth Naval Base for its maiden voyage on Saturday, eight years since a fast jet last flew from a British aircraft carrier. During its trip to North America, the warship will embark two US F-35B test aircraft based at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland. The planes are expected to carry out 500 landings and take-offs during the carrier's 11 weeks at sea and there have been rumours that President Donald Trump may come on board. Naval chiefs have pledged that the 65,000-tonne carrier, nicknamed Big Lizzie, will have the protection needed against the 'eye-watering' threat from Russia and other powers around the world. The team then named the little ape Rahman, after the man who found him. 'It's a tragedy to find a baby orangutan without its mother, alone, vulnerable and distressed,' IAR chief executive Alan Knight said. 'Rahman should have been in his mother's care for the next six or seven years of his life.'

Shocking moment a three-storey house in India slides down a hill amid the worst flooding in a century as at least 324 are killed and 300,000 left homeless after nine days of torrential rain

After eight months and 22 days of recovery, 21-year-old Katie Stubblefield (left), who was the youngest person to receive a face transplant, met and thanked the grandmother of her face donor. Sandra Bennington (right with Katie) was the one who made the life changing decision to donate her granddaughter's face after she passed away. Katie learned she won a donor in May 2017. Although Adrea Schneider (inset) was a registered organ donor, Sandra, who adopted her when she was just 11, had to approve the use of her extremities. Katie nearly broke down in tears as she hugged Sandra, saying: 'Thank you so much for your kindness and for what you've given me'. After the emotional meeting, Katie, her parents and Sandra shared a prayer.

The badly propelled puss was captured on a home surveillance camera at first squaring up its leap of faith before beginning to slip on the hood of a truck.
