This year's Billboard Music Awards will be hosted by actor/comedian Ken Jeong (Community, Hangover 2), and performers of the night include Far East Movement, Ne-Yo, the Black Eyed Peas, Cee Lo Green, Nicki Minaj, Pitbull, Rihanna, Keith Urban, Taio Cruz and Ke$ha.
Jeong announced the Billboard Music Awards finalists at the press conference at the Chateau nightclub in Paris Las Vegas on April 13, with the help of Far*East Movement. ("Aww snap! Asians takin' over, yo!" -- Ken Jeong)
Far*East Movement's "Like A G6" featuring Dev & The Cataracs won a nomination for Top Rap Song.
Bruno Mars' "Just The Way You Are" is nominated for Top Hot 100 Song, Top Digital Song, Top Radio Song, Top Streaming Song (Audio), and Top Pop Song; "Nothin' On You" by B.o.B featring Mars is nominated for Top Rap Song; and Mars is nominated for Top New Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Digital Songs Artist, Top Radio Songs Artist, and Top Male Artist.
Linkin Park and the Black Eyed Peas compete with Bon Jovi, Lady Antebellum, and U2 for Top Duo/Group. Also, Linkin Park is nominated for Top Rock Artist and Top Alternative Artist, their song "Waiting on the End" gets a nod for Top Alternative Song, in addition to A Thousand Suns for Top Alternative Album; while the Black Eyed Peas are nominated for Top Pop Artist and Top Dance Artist, and their album The E.N.D is one of the Top Pop Albums in competition.
Rihanna led the pack with 18 nominations, follwed by Lady Gaga with 12 nominations. Billboard will also honor Beyonce with the 2011 Billboard Millennium Award at this year's show.
