The pilot Environmental Virtual Observatory was a proof of concept project to develop new cloud-based applications for accessing, interrogating, modelling and visualising environmental data, by developing a series of exemplars.
It has demonstrated how cloud technologies can make environmental monitoring and decision making more efficient, effective and transparent to the whole community.
This website provides information that was available at the time that the project was proposed – in At the outset – and then presents summaries of the findings and outputs of the project – in Achievements.
A full description of the work undertaken and the techniques used can be found in the Final Report.
Finally, the outputs are described and demonstrated in a series of short EVO videos that are presented by key personnel who were involved.
