About the Editor:

I marshal the middle between Mathers and McLuhan.

Roy Christopher‘s main interests are figurative language use and the social impacts of technology. “My main goal as a writer is to entertain and as a scientist is to find novelty,” he says, “I’m more of the former than the latter and more of a fan than a critic.” He’s an aging BMX/skateboard ‘zine kid. That’s where he learned to turn events and interviews into pages with staples. The pages and staples have long since given way to links and scrollbars, but the rest is basically the same: He still ride bikes and skateboards and still commits quite a bit to actual pages, too.

Christopher is currently corrupting the youth in the Department of Communication at The University of Illinois at Chicago and working on a book about how technological mediation has changed and continues to change our relationships with each other, our information, time, space, and ourselves. It’s called The Medium Picture: Seeing Through Technology, is under contract with Zero Books, and will be out in the near future. …more.
