The Commonwealth War Graves Foundation is proud to partner with There But Not There, a new art installation marking the centenary of the end of the First World War taking place across the UK.

There But Not There Tommies at CWGC Brookwood Military Cemetery

A Nationwide Installation for the Fallen, There But Not There Tommies and Silhouettes will be touring the country over the coming year with all proceeds from the project donated to a series of military charities, including the commonwealth War Graves Foundation.

The aim of the project is to inspire people nationwide to host installations of their own, to bring their communities together to remember those who died from their village, town or city and will be touring the country until Armistice Day.

The Commonwealth War Graves Foundation is also the projects education lead. We will be spearheading the campaign’s educational programme, creating education resources designed to get younger generations, born nearly 100 years after the outbreak of the First World War, to understand the sacrifice made by British and Commonwealth men and women.

The Commonwealth War Graves Foundation (CWGF) is a charitable foundation that highlights the work of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) by telling the stories of the 1.7m people the CWGC commemorates.

The Foundation engages young people and the wider community around the UK interested in the story of our common sacrifice and shared history.

By supporting the Foundation you will enable it to fund education and activities which will capture the public imagination, and highlight the work the CWGC does.

Together we keep their stories alive.
