The World Chess Boxing Organisation (WCBO) is the governing body for amateur chessboxing. Its goal is to spread the sport of chessboxing to all continents and the official dissemination of chessboxing as a self-contained internationally recognised sport.

The organisation works completely in line with the ancient philosophy of 'mens sana in corpore sano' a healthy mind in a healthy body.

The WCBO organises the amateur world championships once a year.
