Phosphating
Phosphating is a chemical process used to deposit metal-phosphate layers that are hardly soluble on steel substrates. The layers created are porous, absorbent and suitable for powder coating. They are also suitable as temporary corrosion protection if subsequently treated with oil, water or passivations.
Main Application / Advantages
- Temporary corrosion protection for steel, stored for a limited period before further treatment.
- Good promotion of adhesion for subsequent powder coating
- Improve sliding properties when cold forming steel
- Electrical insulation
