Green Square Library and Plaza launch
join us for the official opening of the Green Square Library and Plaza
Produced by the City of Sydney
You’re invited to the official opening of the new Green Square Library and Plaza. Set within the plaza, this striking part-underground library was designed by Stewart Hollenstein with Stewart Architecture and built by John Holland.
The library includes a garden, an amphitheatre and a six-storey glass tower. There’s also a technology lab, a music room with a piano for practice and rehearsals, spaces you can book as well as a customer service centre.
You’ll also get to see two wonderful new artworks: Cloud Nation by Claire Healy and Sean Cordeiro, and High Water by Indigo Hanlee and Michael Thomas Hill.
Lord Mayor Clover Moore will officially open the library and plaza at 11.30 am. There’ll be music, free bike tune-ups, coffee and gelato while you explore the facilities and enjoy the activities on offer at the library.
