I'm sure we'll be seeing this storyline, suitably punched up, on Dick Wolf's upcoming Law & Order: Hate Crimes. Granted, the part where the crack NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force has to release the chalk graffiti artist to his mom because he's only 12 is kind of lame, but I'll bet the writers' room...

With all due respect, if you think there is any doubt regarding your closing point, you haven't been paying attention.

The Dems are pushing policy and linked propaganda that anyone who

    a) doesn't support their candidates and positions and/or
    b) supports a candidate or position they revile

is by definition conducting a "foreign controlled disinformation campaign" as a "foreign state actor."

Grandma Glass Hymen Buster was part of POLITICO's prop campaign on this topic last week:

    https://twitter.com/HillaryClinton/status/1098294023738064898

The corollary is that only Dems, those who vote for whom they are instructed to by Dems, on topics as Dems instruct them to vote, and those they define as real Americans (for instance as per the Zeroth Amendment) are real Americans.

Anyone else is a foreign agent. Who can be treated as criminals.

The corollary of that is that if you are a criminal and "foreign state actor," your Constitutionally protected rights can be erased.

Good lord, Android Cuomo just signed into a law a bill that says that anyone in your family or community who considers you a threat can make you the subject of a "temporary extreme risk protection order." This allows police to confiscate every last one of your LEGAL firearms (no word on what people have to go through to get them back).

Now think about how, e.g., women have used "protection orders" and false rape accusations and other powerf#cks to get even with men they're mad at.

So this hysteria over a kid writing kid graffiti has little, I suspect, to do with the kid or the graffiti. It is simply a selected optical event to push the Dems' agenda to the next step to rally the masses for 2020.

Coming as it does the same day Cuomo signed that bill into law.

BTW, California has a similar confiscation law. The November 2018 Borderline (ahem) Bar and Grill shooting happened anyway.

Florida has a similar confiscation law. Both the August 2018 Jacksonville Landing shooting and January 2019 SunTrust shooting happened anyway.

Illinois has a similar confiscation law. It did not prevent last month's Henry Pratt Company shooting.

Did you have to include that picture? It makes me want to vomit.

And I still don’t know what the “crime” is when you write “Hail Hitler” on a sidewalk in non-permanent chalk.

  • Breaking news from CNN: 12-year-old charged with drawing anti-Semitic graffiti on school playground By Augusta Anthony, CNN Updated 10:03 PM ET, Wed February 27, 2019 New York (CNN) A 12-year-old boy was arrested and charged with aggravated harassment on Wednesday after anti-Semitic graffiti was found drawn on a schoolyard in Queens last week, according to...
  • @Autochthon
    Actually, that'd be "AVECÆSAR."

In the event, I'm pretty sure no one younger than thirty in New York understands a word of Latin. They're busy with so-called Latinx Studies instead...whatever those are.

I'm gobsmacked to realise the graffiti was done in chalk. That makes it a real bellweather case, because there is no crime whatsoever except the phony one legislated ten years or so ago (aggravated mean words or whatever rubbish they're calling it) in violation of rights to free expression protected by both the federal constitution and (presumably) New York's constitution. If this boy is convicted, we will know have confirmation we now live in Europe again, with all the despotism that comes with that.

Chile (to name but one) is now a freer country than the F.U.S.A. by most every meaningful measure. Think about that for at least a moment the next time you get a hard-on for Muh Patriotism.

Chile (to name but one) is now a freer country than the F.U.S.A. by most every meaningful measure.

The US is not particularly free at all, compared to the country that I grew up in. Congress has ensured that with the amount of federal “crimes” they add to our books yearly. I believe someone noted that it is impossible for a US citizen not to commit some kind of crime practically on a daily basis. I do remember the feds trying to put someone in jail for “destruction of evidence” because he threw an undersized fish back into the ocean (that was a real case). Of course this gives federal prosecutors essentially unfettered power to lock anyone up for anything. And that means we are not free at all.

As for Latin, well I did my part. My children were required to take 5 years of it, from 8th grade on.

  • Writing “Hail Hitler” on a playground in chalk cannot possibly be a crime. If it is a crime, then I would like to know what crime it is (it cannot be vandalism, the writing is in non-permanent chalk, and if someone wants to write “Hail Hitler” – so what – you can buy Mein Kampf in the bookstore if you want) and I want to know what is happening to all the chalk artists who wrote “Viva Che” on the sidewalk in Berkeley. Those offended me. If writing “Hail Hitler” is a crime, then – seriously – writing “Trump 2020” in chalk can be a crime.

  • Breitbart reports the triumph of globalism in Chicago:

The middle class in Chicago, Illinois is “almost gone,” new research finds, as the vast majority of residents are either wealthy professionals or working-class residents living paycheck to paycheck.

Research by the Voorhies Center chronicled the near six-decade shrinking of Chicago’s middle class, which is close to nonexistent today, as corporate developers and multinational conglomerates continue dominating metropolises across the U.S. — forcing middle class residents out.

For instance, in 1970, middle income residents made up about half of Chicago, while about 42 percent of residents were either poor or working class and less than ten percent were considered wealthy.

Remember: all of the problems we have — the hair-brained schemes of the globalists come to ruinous fruition, but more the desperate campaigns to win people over or marginalize them — are really because the middle class exists. It is the middle class that wants a house and not an apartment for their stable family. It is the middle class the stabilizes society and makes “world repair” difficult. It is the middle class that votes other than instructed. It is the middle class that raises its impertinent hand at city council meetings and that paints NIMBY signs. It is the middle class which distinguishes the US from the third world: Mexico has plenty of millionaires. The poor don’t matter and the rich are generally on board with the globalist agenda (or they can be threatened). Brazil the model requires what this article describes.

    Why fifty years?

I would suggest "fifty years (ago)" seems just long enough to be out of memory for most of one's target audience (as of this writing, the median White American is b.1974), but recent enough to still "inform the present."

Using "a hundred years ago" just sounds really distant; it almost sounds like a joke. Like ancient, irrelevant history to many. Many of today's younger people's great-grandparents would not have been born yet.

Our current crop of students is so poorly educated, and miseducated, you can say pretty much whatever you want about “50 years ago” and get away with it completely. America 1969 is as foreign a country to our students as the Athenian Empire. If you told our student body that America was lynching thousands of people in 1969 most of them would swallow it whole. You can tell them anything you want and that is, in fact, what the Left is doing. I think it’s the religion thing you mentioned above:

Since according to her faith (and by faith I don’t mean Judaism) there are no genetic differences in abilities in human populations then if any differences exist in the real world they can only be the result of racism, lack of opportunity, poor schools, etc.

    Good for George Bush…

It’s difficult and somewhat subjective to parcel out blame for pieces of the disaster, but George H. W. Bush might just be the worst president the US has ever had. The Immigration Act of 1990 might be the worst piece of legislation in history.

… We were kicking ass during the Reagan Presidency. Low trade deficits, low illegal immigration. Economy was good. Music was very good. Yeah I know Simpson-Mazoli but……. White percentage of population was still high at 82% in 1985.

    This is crazy thinking.

Yeah, things were much better in the 80s than today with that 82% white population, but that was inherited from the past, and Simpson-Mazzoli–amnesty without a secure border or interior enforcement–is kicking off both the great Hispanic baby-boom and the tsunami of further illegal immigration.

You judge a policy by it’s effect, a US Presidency by it’s effect on the future US.

Reagan’s presidency had it’s ephemeral “good times” and some positive work on the Cold War, but with Simpson-Mazzoli, long term it was a disaster. Reagan’s lack of interest in racial issues–not that that stopped him being called “racist” by the lefty Jews in the media–and lack of focus or follow through meant the US got demographically rolled and the nation destroyed.

I want to memorialize my thoughts here before reading the text of the law.

    1. What the hell is lynching? How is it defined? How is it different from murder? How is it different from a federal civil rights violation associated with murder?

    2. Is lynching defined as getting murdered while black?

    3. Is lynching defined as being hanged until dead? With a rope? While black?

    4. Are non-noose instrumentalities acceptable in a lynching?

    5. Is this one of those overreaching federal laws that is so broad that it encompasses anything that a federal prosecutor wants (like most "antiterrorism" laws passed after 9/11)?

It would truly take a brave man to stand up in Congress and say, "No, of course lynching is terrible, but we do not need this law cluttering up the books. Current laws cover things just fine."

[Now proceeding to track down the text of the bill ...]

    Found this historical oddity:

    Dyer Anti-Lynching Bill
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dyer_Anti-Lynching_Bill

It was intended to establish lynching as a federal crime. The Dyer Anti-Lynching Bill was re-introduced in subsequent sessions of Congress and passed by the U.S. House of Representatives on January 26, 1922, but its passage was halted in the Senate by a filibuster by Southern Democrats, who formed a powerful block that exceeded their percentage of the population by having disenfranchised blacks in the South.

    Those pesky Democrats!

    Here is Wikipedia

Justice for Victims of Lynching Act
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Justice_for_Victims_of_Lynching_Act

Justice for Victims of Lynching Act of 2018 is a ... bill that would classify lynching - defined as bodily injury on the basis of perceived race, color, religion or, nationality - a federal hate crime in the United States. The bill is largely symbolic, aiming to recognize and apologize for historical governmental failures to prevent lynching in the US. The act was first introduced in the US Senate in June 2018 by the body's three Black members: Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, and Tim Scott.

    Here is the law:

    https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/senate-bill/3178/text/es

Most of the Bill is a big list of CONGRESS-FINDS!! stuff:

-- Lynching was the new slavery

-- Lynching is really, really bad stuff

-- We must apologize the the lynchees and their families

-- Charlottesville happened [Wow! Charlottesville is in there; in a slightly different universe Jussie could have been written into the law.]

-- And so on, in that vein

The meat of the law is a minor amendment to the Title 18 Chapter 13 Civil Rights body of law.

To this law it adds or clarifies as follows:

-- Two or more perps. A single guy cannot be a lyncher. That means Emmett Till was not lynched.

-- Victim is targeted because of: actual or perceived religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability (so gender and gender identity make an appearance in a hate crime law, neither of which is defined in the law, but I didn't check Title 18)

-- Interstate commerce requirement, but covers almost anything: internet use, crossing state lines, use of a gun that has crossed state lines, use of a phone or the mails (prosecutors have no trouble coming up with a federal nexus in practice)

-- Bodily injury: no need to murder, and noose not required

-- Up to 10 years in prison, up to life if kidnapping involved (here again, kidnapping is very vaguely defined and can mean obstructing someone's movement)

-- Generally requires that the state where it happened has passed on prosecution, so unless we have a time machine to travel back to the South of George Wallace, this law may never be used, although there is an elastic clause as is usual for the feds

This sounds more like an anti-hate crime law than an actual anti-lynching law. Like all vague Federal laws, it has the potential to be abused by the Feds for political purposes. It also sounds like a way to turn a minor assault into a Federal felony with a sentence of 10 years with no parole if you are someone that the Feds don’t like.

I’m not sure I understand the distinction between Section 250 (a) (i) and 250 (a) (ii) – they seem to overlap in part (religion or national origin) but crimes under (i) require no “special circumstances” but crimes under (ii) do. What was the logic?

which also has the bifurcated and overlapping subsection (i) vs subsection (ii) structure that offenses against some groups require a link to interstate commerce and other don't.

The main difference is that the existing law requires the use of "fire, a firearm, a dangerous weapon, or an explosive or incendiary device" and the new bill requires only that "2 or more persons willfully cause bodily injury to any other person". A dangerous weapon is pretty much anything other than using your bare hands. Ironically, this would probably include using a rope, so lynching (in the sense of hanging someone) is probably already covered by the current statute.

After further reading and morning coffee, I now understand the structure of these two laws - the category (i) crimes fall under direct Federal jurisdiction by virtue of the 13th Amendment and the category (ii) crimes gain Federal jurisdiction thru the Commerce Clause. The 13th Amendment gives the Congress the right to make further laws for the prevention of racial discrimination but this doesn't give the Feds the right to make laws against gay discrimination. But if you pick up the phone to call your co-conspirator to plan to beat up a tranny (even if it's a local call) then you've used an instrument of interstate commerce and the Feds can get you on that basis.

Well, I for one am relived to learn that at long last the gaping hole in our laws has been closed where murder was unprosecutable if you did it by noose. The omission of noose murder from all of our criminal statute books was a stain on our values of us not being not who we are and stuff.

Now I await our brave legislators closing the new loophole (which strangely they just opened) where murder by intentional exposure to HIV is merely a misdemeanor and poisoning the blood supply by donating HIV blood is totally cool in California.

  • @anonymous
Jewish wealth is built by cooperation against the host society in which they live. They also specialise as middlemen instead of having a full occupational profile. In White countries they are particularly sucessful because Whites are atomised and believe in individualism so therefore Jewish tribalism wins. This is also the case with thier dominance in society. Jewish dominance owes more to ethnic networking and nepotism than it does to free and fair competition between individuals.

A Jewish surgeon just operated on my wife. He was considered the best in our area for the type of sensitive surgery she had. I am fully aware of the problems which Jewish liberalism brings. However, I don’t begrudge our surgeon his skill or his wealth and I think this kind of comment is utter nonsense.

  • @istevefan
I think there is a term called 'market dominant minority' that describes diaspora Jews, overseas Chinese and a few other select groups. Being in the diaspora enables groups with certain talents to cherry pick careers.

Take a historical look at a formerly homogeneous place like Germany or some Euro nation. All the jobs in society, from janitors to the head of state, would be carried out by ethnic Germans or whatever group inhabited the nation. I am aware there were always some exceptions like Gypsies, Jews and other Euro ethnics for whom a border had crossed them, and they found themselves in a different country. But for the most part, prior to modern day open-borders immigration, the natives pretty much had to fill the job slots from the lowest to the highest.

Even in Israel you had Jews occupying the full spectrum of employment from the lowest levels to the Prime Minister. Of course that might have changed somewhat today with third worlders trying to enter the nation. But my point remains that in an ethnic nation state, that ethnic group will provide the labor for the full range of job types.

I only described the above to introduce a discussion about what would happen to the standard of living of all the diaspora Jews if every Jew in the world went to Israel to live. Assume that Israel could expel all non-Jews and even take extra real estate in Lebanon. I am guessing with all the Jews going there they would have a population of around 16 million, which would put them on par with the Netherlands.

An Israel of 16 million would be wealthy like the Netherlands. It would be safe, have excellent medical care and social safety nets. It would probably be a great place to live and raise a family. But, what would all the diaspora Jews do?

A nation of 16 million would need about 40K doctors to have a ratio of 2.5 docs per 1000 population. I think there are at least 100K Jewish physicians in America. What are 60K of them going to do if they went to Israel? What about the existing doctors in Israel and the ones from the UK, Canada, etc.? There would be too many. Some could find work as researchers. But you would think a non-trivial amount would become Uber drivers.

You could see the same thing happening with lawyers and other professions where a nation of 16 million could only support so many jobs. The advantage of the diaspora is that it allows a group to concentrate on choice professions that they are capable of fulfilling when surrounded by others who can do the other jobs of society. If you are no longer in the diaspora, competition and the carrying capacity of your ethnic nation state makes job choices much tougher

Yes, I am aware that if what I described actually happened, the USA would lose 1/8th of its physicians which would put a huge crimp on health care here. Ditto with lawyers. But it appears that if it did happen a lot of diaspora Jews would find themselves worse off if they could not keep their career or transfer to one of comparable prestige and reward. Of course there would be a non-financial benefit of living in a safe nation surrounded by your own people. And as many of us on this blog will agree, you can't put a price on that. Most of us would probably trade financial wealth for better demographics.

So would it be a positive for diaspora Jews, or a negative for all of them live in Israel?

Financially it would certainly be worse for the diaspora Jews, unless the neighbors of Israel opened up their markets to Israel. But that is never, ever, going to happen. However considering that Israeli Jews have a lot of kids and American Jews don’t, from a purely biological imperative point of view, it would be much better for them to move to Israel. Would it be better for America ? I think it would be an even trade. Yes, we would lose a lot of talented doctors and scientists and business people. But we would also lose Sarah Silverman and Chelsea Handler. So definitely even for America.

Mr. Engel easily dispatched a self-funded white male challenger in 2018 but activists are particularly keen on finding a younger candidate of color in 2020; only about a half-dozen white Democratic men represent a more diverse district in Congress than Mr. Engel....

One potential challenger mulling a run is Andom Ghebreghiorgis, a Yale graduate and 33-year-old educator in Mount Vernon, who said that Ms. Ocasio-Cortez “showed there’s a hunger, especially here in New York, for representative who reflect the changing progressive politics of their communities.”...

Ms. Clarke, who won with only 53 percent of the vote, is likely to face a rematch with Adem Bunkeddeko, the Harvard-educated son of war Ugandan refugees who has signaled he plans to run again....

That's interesting, and I agree with your assessment.

You might be interested to know that when I was in college in the early 1980s in Colorado, I knew an ordinary, white, American college student who went to Alaska one summer to clean fish in a processing facility. He did it because the job paid a lot of money.

As I recall, he said he made $10,000 in one summer of hard work cleaning fish in Alaska. So that is another job that Americans have always been willing to do for the right price. I'm sure those Filipinos are nice, and I'm not knocking what you said at all, but we really don't need them to do the job. Or maybe we do, since young Americans aren't what they were even when I went to college.

When I was in high school in the 70s, college bound white American high school kids from middle class homes still picked tomatoes and were paid by the bucket. Not to mention working in McDonalds and as movers for local stores and in car washes and and as busboys. Even mowing lawns. I think what killed it for middle class kids was the demand for high prestige items on the resume for college. Now every kid wants to say he helped a refugee family from Somalia.

Labor is an insignificant cost in oil production as a % of the value of the product, so saving a few pennies hardly makes a difference to the bottom line. The Deepwater Horizon cost BP $1,000,000 PER DAY to operate. So if you spend another $50,000 on labor by hiring the most competent, experienced people available (grizzled old white guys) and paying them an extra $10/hr and the well gets finished a week sooner, it is well, well worth it - it's not even close. The crew also has the potential to cause tremendous damage ($60 billion worth) so again you want the best that $ can buy. This ain't the chicken plant.

We should start with using Somalis for the workers. And yes, it is perfectly fine for everything to come to a full stop so the crew can pray on the rig 5 times a day for 1/2 an hour each time. That’s nothing. Because if I was on that rig, I would be praying ALL the time.

Screw resignation. Screw anything more than a cursory apology. I know nothing about his actual political views and how dearly held they actually may be, or if he just ran as a Democrat because that's how he thought he win an election.

What I would suggest is: switch parties. Your career is over. It's finished. Certainly as a Democrat it is finished: no presidential run, no lobbying gigs, no Secretary of This-or-That or Ambassador to BFE-istan. Maybe some desperate rural clinic will hire him as a pediatric neurologist, but I doubt it. Face it, you are a straight white dude with (worse than all of those combined) a Southern accent, and those assholes you call your allies have thrown you to the wolves. Wake the hell up and realize what country you are in now. Your party hates you. You are their useful idiot. You are their buttboy. You are the tool of the immivasion lobby. Turn the tables on them.

Go to the podium and re-reverse yourself. Instead of denying it say "Yeah, I was in that picture. But you know what? I was both of those guys, damnit! I was the klansman AND the guy in blackface. Figure that one out, assholes! And you know what? It wasn't a f***in hate crime. It was just a stupid college costume party. And you know what else? I enjoyed every minute of it! In fact I got some hot Asian tail at the end of the night!" And don't forget to call them out on their bullshit infanticide bill.

Attempts have been made to assimilate Jews and Romany Gypsies but neither group wishes to and they differ significantly from surrounding populations.

The Germans of Eastern Europe were most assuredly not assimilated. They spoke German, identified as German, had their own villages – with German architecture. After WW2 they were forced out of the towns they had lived in for hundreds of years, forced to return to Germany proper and millions died during this forced removal.

Speaking of coalition of the fringes, don’t think Trump is going to lose many supporters by ticking off th Federal workers. It’s largely a make-work program for blacks, most of whom will vote Dem no matter what anyway. No to mention how many workers are in unions that pretty much universally support Dems. So not seeing why he would cave so easily.

And how irresponsible are these workers with their money that they don’t have enough savings to get through a few tight weeks? Government workers have a reputation of being some of the most ridiculously overpaid workers in the country. You telling me someone making 100k+ can’t save aside enough to cover a few weeks bills? Fortunately for Trump, 2020 looks like it will be an orgy of anti-whitism, extreme feminism, Chavismo style socialist demands of Medicare for All and abolish ICE and Universal Basic Income and 70% taxes and wealth taxes.

Doesn't matter, this will just be the warmup. Come 2024, or 2028, or 2032 there aren't going to be enough whites left to vote the way out of this mess.

Frankly, from a practical and conservative point of view, if Trump (or any leader) is not going to manage to even delay the demographic transition, we might as well just stop now and stop inflaming racial tensions, so there is less backlash in the future.

I'm not a CUCK, I'm just saying from a practical point of view this makes the most sense. In 2016 we still had the numbers. Any sort of action taken by Trump could easily have kicked the demographic bomb quite far down the road. But he didn't, and we're on the same trajectory but now all non-whites hate us.

We needed a Wall and a significant extension of the time it takes an alien here now to legally become a citizen – at a minimum. We had to slow the rate of replacement above all. Only Miller understood that I think. Paul Ryan would never have delivered it but that was far more important than a tax cut (that will be reversed). The numbers of invaders, the super billionaire class and the Permanent Bureaucracy will soon overwhelm us. Mueller’s investigation already approaches a Bolshevik show trial – everyone being arrested for crimes committed during the investigation itself! of a non-crime!

That is hardly a liberal democracy in action.

I am very sorry to say that the US (and the West) are pretty much over – we just can’t quite see it yet. In 25 years everyone will see it.

Indeed, immigration is upstream of everything else. Even if you agree with the GOP donor class agenda of tax cuts and deregulation, you have to see that any temporary victory on that front will be permanently overturned (to say the least) when the demographic wave crashes. Maybe I’m being obtuse (the election of Bolsonaro in Brazil is an interesting counter example) but it certainly seems like demographic transformation is permanently altering the discourse and politics of the U.S. In 2000 I couldn’t have imagined that our politics would have lurched so far left or that our public discourse would be so toxic and masochistic. Not really looking forward to what the country will be like another 15-20 years down the road.

In my schooldays there was the Near East (Egypt, Mesopotamia, Persia, the Holy Land), the Middle East (India, Pakistan, Afghanistan), and the Far East (China, Japan, Indonesia, Malaya). It was a neat comprehensible schema.

Nowadays Libya -- whose capital is west of Rome -- is routinely written of as in the Middle East. I have even seen Morocco -- whose territory is entirely west of the Greenwich meridian, and whose capital is further west than all but the merest fringe of Europe -- tagged with Middle East.

While I'm at it, where did the Levant go?

The Near East is now certain areas of Birmingham, Rotterdam, London, Paris, Marseille, Amsterdam and Brussels. Very near. Very East.
The Middle East is now Israel and every country/area that hates it. That would include Libya and Algeria.

There are only two categories - white (bad) and not-white (good). Since Cleopatra is not-white, she must be played by a fellow not-white. This compensates somewhat for the many decades in which Hollywood used white actors to portray not-whites and helps to right the scales of cosmic justice. Hollywood insulted our intelligence for decades by having Charlie Chan played by a Swedish white guy so now to even the score they must insult our intelligence for the NEXT 7 decades by having Cleopatra played by a Puerto Rican.

The peasants had an amazing ability to survive (and multiply). Their healthy diet was key and has now been adopted by the upper class. They eat whole grains, beets and kale while the poor think McDonalds is native fare.

I've also wondered about the role of iodine. America's poor were mostly from Britain. Their potato fields were manured with kelp; they ate fish. In America they moved inland. Iodine was supplied by milk carton sterilization and iodized salt. But milk is no longer sterilized that way and prepared foods tend to not use iodized salt because the quantities they require affect taste and color if iodized.

Poor whites need to get in touch with their ethnic culinary roots. Soda should not be available with food stamps since it's not food.

It is funny to watch the FBI and CIA become good guys for doing the same things that used to get them called threats to democracy.

The FBI and the CIA have become a lot more popular with the press once they went from being nominally right wing to being nominally left wing. This transition was largely unnoticed by the rest of the populace. Can you imagine the uproar if the FBI was still “right wing” and it investigated if say Obama was really loyal to Kenya?

In reality, although the Permanent Government is largely Democrat (which is after all, the party of government) in reality it transcends party. You can be a Republican and still pose no threat to the Permanent Government (which is why Congress is so worthless even when it is controlled by “Republicans”) but if you are , like Trump, a threat to the Permanent Government (not that Trump has really damaged it much) then they will do everything in their power to destroy you. Republicans and Democrats united to destroy the Tea Party because the Tea Party did not favor the Permanent Government.

The Permanent Government has made a deal with the Banking Mafia and the Plutocrats and they get along just fine (see the Bush Family) . They have all agreed to plunder the Common Man and divide up the spoils. In order to distract the masses, the have some kayfabe where they argue about gun control and abortion and other BS that doesn’t really mean anything, but fundamentally they agree that the plunder should continue.

Once you understand this, then the conventional left/right, R/D prism is no longer fully explanatory.

This is what is so hard for most naive Americans to understand: there is no Democrat/Republican party....it is largely a unified, corrupt front to keep reaping the benefits ($$$$) by serving in Congress (passing nothing, just stale-mate fighting and calling each other "motherf*cker" or whatever) and gorging on lobbyist's money; or gorging and pimping for contracts for Endless War. Endless War in the Middle East; and soon, for the Caribbean/South American zone.

And, of course, all corrupt Congresspeople will never stop demonizing Russia...and lusting for nuclear war, fantasizing about how much money that will make them. And, of course, the Democrats have been ceaselessly drumming up a future race war, so all those FBI/CIA agents can declare Martial Law and "round up" the deplorables once and for all. Take us to the gulags to re-educate us if not slaughter/gas us. Ok, I am a little dark because I hate January (and February) in New England....it sucks so bad post Christmas.

I feel like Jeong (the creature at NYT) in that I feel good each time one of those corrupt ones (the creepy, old and smelly Congressmen or women) is afflicted with cancer, dies, or suffers these last few years - happening a lot. I should not hope for people to die but they want us to all die, and, are in fact, letting us know that quite often - I mean, they don't even hide it.

I am hoping the American public wakes up and hate-votes all these corrupt people out of office for good. One can dream. I'm going to a better beach than yucky PR in a few weeks, so maybe I'll snap out of my mood!

  • The attraction of the Left to cruelty is now openly displayed. If the GOP has any brains (they don’t) they would be dismantling the IRS and the Justice Department now, along with every other federal agency including the FCC and the FBI. The desire of the Left to publicly humiliate their ideological enemies is strong and – down the road a bit – will certainly be followed by a desire to punish them. I thought the whole point of the internet was to make the world "flat," so that geography no longer applies to "knowledge workers." (Per Thomas Friedman and his ilk).

So why do Indian coders have to work in America? Why can't they just code in India and send the work product via email or whatever? That's basically what they would be doing if they were working out of a brick and mortar office building in Mountain View anyway.

Serious question. I don't get it.

In my experience, foreign H1B workers are not recruited overseas for the most part. They are recruited from non-US students here in university. They then intern and interview with US firms just as a US student would. The law allows this. The only way they can then work here permanently is to get first a training and then a permanent visa but that effort is now considered so ordinary that it is part of the standard US HR process. Just as they take up spots in our universities, the students take available jobs. Did you believe the foreign engineering students at MIT or Berkeley or Texas or Illinois just go home? They stay. Naturally HR departments want this supply – increased supply means lower costs and faster hiring times. Once the non-US students are here the process begins.

Yeah, and WW1 was impossible because so much money would be lost due to the interruption of trade. States are not rational, and sometimes they commit suicide in interesting ways.

Agree: Germany tried suicide twice the old fashioned way – by being badly beaten in a war they could not possibly win. The Confederacy chose that approach as well. Russia tried it by allowing themselves to be ruled by gangsters and genocidal maniacs. Merkel took a more feminine approach to suicide, by actually inviting a conquering hostile foreign horde right into the gates. America is trying a combination of opening the borders to a foreign peasantry – who are allowed to vote and therefore rule, IQ lowering dysgenics and a rigid code to ensure mediocrity of performance. There are indeed so many ways for a nation to commit suicide.

I don't think that Mr Foer has gotten over 1939-45:

    The Girl Who Lived
Remembering my grandmother, whose improbable survival became the foundational story for my family’s existence

There were the scissors that my grandmother somehow remembered to bring with her as she fled. She could hear the rumble of destruction in the distance. She could see the cloud of smoke that was the Nazi murder of her family and neighbors. Without forethought, she made the decision to run ahead, carrying with her the scissors and, despite the blossoms of spring, a winter coat.

By the time I reached fifth grade, the scissors and the coat had become the foundational tale of my family’s existence. The small Jewish woman who turned her basement into a well-stocked bunker filled with enough bags of flour and boxes of Rice Krispies to withstand the next catastrophe emerged as our superhero. Her life was a testament to cunning, courage, and contingency. When I think about the scissors and the coat, it’s hard not to also think of the mountain of worn shoes at the Holocaust Memorial Museum, or the television clip that pauses to show the eyes of the child migrant. It’s hard not to think about the bare margin that separates survival from death, the decision made in a flicker that accounts for existence.

Her life connected ours to tragedy and history. I have piles of cassettes, compiled while sitting with her as she recounted her biography at her faux-marble kitchen table, sipping instant coffee from a red mug. She died 10 days ago. Now we no longer have her witness—in a time when Jews are slaughtered in Pittsburgh, when anti-Semites have regained power in the old blood-lands of Europe. My grandmother has become a memory, at a moment when the memory of the destruction of Jewry seems too faint to restrain the return of animal hatreds.

As a teenager, she was a communist, an act of rebellion in a small conservative shtetl. I imagine the intensity of her yearning for a better world, the romanticism that would lead her to dream like that. It was this rebellion, her sense that the Nazis might seek her out for special punishment, that prodded her to flee. Her story of survival was bound together with her capacity for free thinking and her ability to feel deeply.

    Crucial shutdown date: January 18

That's when the federal courts run out of money. Good time for issuing any controversial executive orders. And also Mueller will be shut down.

I’m glad they will run out of money. If we cannot have a Wall, it means we cannot have a border and without a real border we don’t have a real country, we have no nation. If there is no nation, I see no reasons for national courts. I see no reason for a national defense department. Who are they defending me from exactly? Certainly not the invaders who come across the border they don’t recognize. I see no reason for national taxes either. I don’t want my money to pay for an endless stream of Mauritanians and Guatemalans. I want my money to go to my nation – which does not exist – so I will have it go to my family. A pediatric neurologist once told me that a very high percentage (I remember at least 10%) of children were not fathered by the man named on the birth certificate. I don’t know if this is true or not, but the doctor told me that as part of his practice he saw the results of genetic testing. I suppose, with the availability of cheap home testing kits, we are gong to see a great deal more of this come to light. I wonder if this is going to start increasing our already high divorce rate. On the other hand once commonly used, it might be an incentive for everyone to be more careful.

  • And what better proof of just how dumb whites are? 77% of whites got the answer wrong! In contrast, Asians and Hispanics do better on this question:

This Audacious Epigone diagram, made from GSS data, presents it in a different way, the number of standard deviations difference that various groups think separates the intelligence of whites and blacks:

    http://www.unz.com/anepigone/blacks-jews-and-liberals-think-whites/

    http://www.unz.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/whiteblackgap.png

I wonder how he converted these survey answers to standard deviations? "Do blacks tend to be unintelligent or tend to be intelligent [relative to whites?]?" How do you get from a 1 to 7 score to a standard deviation?

Asians are far and away the least blinkered, but they are off by 50 percent from reality. I think this is because most below average blacks are sequestered in communities and jobs that never bring them into contact with most people of other races. If you just think of blacks you've dealt with, you figure the average intelligence is higher.

Jews and the college educated are the most delusional, outside of blacks, who see themselves as near equals. Actually, that latter result surprises me. I know the thing about blacks having outsized self esteem, but I thought they knew that on average they are dumber ... while making excuses for it, "the brutal legacy of slavery and Jim Crow" and all that.

This chart on has absolutely nothing to do with what people actually think and everything to do with what they are willing to say to a third party.

The threat was not that the USSR was going to invade the USA militarily. The threat was they were going to extend their influence and control over an increasingly larger area of the world which would have isolated us from trade and other contact. At one point I think communism in the late 1970s was installed in 1/3rd of the world's nations and appeared to be the future trend.

Also, another threat the USSR poised was through subversion inside the US. As it turns out there really was something to the subversion angle.

Western Europe was as populous and was richer than the USSR. Add in Japan and it is not even close. We should have cut them all loose in the 60s and said,

A couple of observations here. First, keep in mind that the USSR in 1945 was the largest, strongest land force in history. Add to that the Warsaw Pact nations and you had the largest armored force in history that could have overrun Western Europe if not for the USA and its nuclear umbrella.

Second, part of the reason the US wanted to stay in Western Europe and Japan was to prevent them from going communist. There was a very real chance that, left on their own, communism could have taken root via the ballot box. That's why we had to use the Marshall Plan to build up Western Europe so quickly. People in poverty are more apt to vote for the communists. And unlike 2016, where Russian meddling in our elections was a joke, the Soviets were more than willing and able to assist those communist parties in the West to come to power. Even with our presence and aid, communist parties were not insignificant in post WW2 Western Europe. Who knows if they would have come to power in our absence.

The US likes to believe that we saved Europe and Japan post WW2. But the reality is we did it for our own purposes. We could not afford to let all of Europe and Japan become communist.

And the fighting spirit of those negligible forces is dubious at best. Basically, they are pacifist cucks in uniform.

The pathetic performance we could expect when the shooting starts is illustrated by the experience of the European forces in the Bosnian conflict of the 1990s.

As just one example, Dutch armed forces charged with protecting Bosnian civilians at Srebrenicia cut a deal with Serb militia forces to surrender their weapons to the Serbs in return for safe passage out of the combat zone and a solemn "promise" that the civilians would not be harmed. The civilians were immediately massacred when the Euro forces bugged out. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Srebrenica_massacre#4_June_and_6%E2%80%9311_July_1995:_Serb_take-over_of_Srebrenica

I also remember hearing reports about some of the token Euro forces sent to Afghanistan (I think they were Italian). Basically, their M.O. was to immediately cut a mutual non-aggression pact with the local Taliban forces and never leave their base. So their sectors looked "pacified" but were actually "safe zones" for the Taliban to retreat and regroup for attacks on the Americans.

Basically, it's only the Anglophone countries (and maybe the French), who have any martial spirit left at all.

Yeah being a radical muslim is the only reason anyone would object to having their land seized. Sort of like anyone who objects to open borders for goy countries MUST be a "racist." because there are literally no rational reasons to object to either of those things.

Hey, which group is originating and spreading these dehumanizing ideas?

Being a muslim means they believe that Allah gave them the right to seize your land. It also means that a non-Muslim is a dhimmi, a second class citizen – as established by a 7th Century warlord – a situation that lasts forever. It also means if you leave Islam you are subject to the death penalty. It also means stoning as a punishment for adultery. It also means the dhimmi pays a special poll tax to the Muslims in “humiliation and submission”. It also means the world is divided into the Dar al Islam and the Dar al Harb: The abode of Islam and the abode of war. It also means that the unbeliever is najis – or unclean.

Being a muslim means you are perpetually at war with the rest of humanity.

The Muslims have seized North Africa, Turkey and the Levant from Christendom, or from the West, whichever you prefer.

And in return we are not getting any Nobel Prizes. We get terror, hatred, rape, crime and special pleading.

The amount of modern weapons that the Arab and Muslim world together possesses is enormous, far, far outstripping NATO. Just look at the figures. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_level_of_military_equipment
France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Netherlands etc do not come close to Egypt, Jordan, Saudi, the Gulf and Turkey. Jordan alone has twice the tanks of Germany. Of course using these forces is entirely another matter, as the Muslims only seem adept at using them on each other and usually in genocidal fashion. Syria, Yemen, Egypt, Libya, Lebanon, Iraq all have been in various stages of civil war in the last few decades. Still I can see how numbers of this size would make the Israelis a bit careful.
