Football's Coming Home To Scarborough

Boro Stadium

Published by the Yorkshire Coast Radio News Team at 11:45am 14th July 2017. (Updated at 6:51pm 14th July 2017)

Football's coming home to Scarborough this weekend.

Scarborough Athletic will play their first game at the brand new 2,000 seater Flamingo Land Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

They'll take on a Sheffield United team in a sold out match which kicks off at 3pm.

Club chairman Trevor Bull said:

"I always get excited before football matches, but I don't think I've ever been as excited as this before one. A bit emotional as well, because it's been a ten year journey that has been difficult over the years, but it's going to be a fantastic day."

If you haven't managed to get a ticket for the game, we'll have a special build-up programme on air from 2pm, followed by live commentary of the match from 3pm on Yorkshire Coast Radio Extra on our website.

You can hear more from club chairman Trevor Bull speaking to Yorkshire Coast Radio's Paddy here...
