The seeds of Aldersgate, first called The Methodist Home, were planted in 1943. Fast-forward to 2017, our Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) continues to play a visionary role.

Aldersgate is much more than a retirement community. We are a nonprofit actively involved in redefining and shaping the future of senior living. Our canvas is an unmatched 231-acre wooded campus in proximity to rich urban amenities and culture. The Aldersgate value proposition includes concierge amenities, holistic wellness, social experiences and engaging opportunities within and beyond our campus.

The people and aura of our community are uniquely our own. We are a community of diverse yet like-minded individuals, who enjoy the peace and beauty of a natural campus surrounded by eclectic neighborhoods and cultural attractions.

Is Aldersgate for you? Come experience the difference! Schedule an appointment to find out and learn more!

MISSION: We honor elders and are committed to creating and fostering diverse, caring communities where everyone has a voice and value.

The Gateway Promise: What's Happening!

The Gateway Promise is two-fold. It is a thoughtful growth plan that enhances our greatest asset – a campus that just happens to be the largest green space in Mecklenburg County. It will transform the community by providing an amenity-filled Commons, greater choice and programming options, and a more advanced, profoundly evolved healthcare model.

It is also a “promise” to the greater community. The Aldersgate executive leadership team continues to proactively work with city planners, the local neighborhood association and community partners to invigorate East Charlotte in a way that will positively impact youth, family and senior living.
