Poet, Educator
We have loved working with Elizabeth and are thrilled that her writing has taken the world by storm. We will miss her at Project VOICE, but we are cheering her on every step of the way. While you won’t be able to catch her at Project VOICE, you can definitely check out her brilliant book The Poet X and see where she will be next here.
ELIZABETH ACEVEDO was born and raised in New York City and her poetry is infused with her Dominican parents’ bolero and her beloved city’s tough grit. “Elizabeth Acevedo’s stories are rendered with a passion, and a grit that only a life well lived can teach. Her presence, so immediate, and so easy to connect to. She pulls you in with ease, and knocks you out with a warm smile.”
