Anzac Memorial stunning drawcard for Emu Park visitors

ROCKHAMPTON'S Jenny Howie is going to be spending a lot more time in Emu Park now that she's seen the addition to the beachfront.

The St Paul's Cathedral Mothers Union member joined the local group for a day trip to Emu Park to see the Anzac Memorial for the first time.

Jenny said she was amazed at the Anzac Memorial boardwalk and the components of the precinct.

"This is the first time I've been here since it's been done and I just can't believe how amazing it is," she said.

"Someone suggested to the group that we come down here and I'm so glad we did because we live so close and didn't realise we have this attraction on our doorstep.

"It's a real eye-opener.

"I think people not just in Emu Park but in the wider community will take ownership of this attraction because it's so different, unique and stunning."

Jenny said she would visit Emu Park more often knowing this attraction was here.

"I've always liked Emu Park but I haven't had a chance to get down here lately and to see this new feature just makes me want to come back," she said.

"I think historical tours of the boardwalk would be a nice touch though to further explain the history associated with the Anzacs but I'm just really excited to see what's next and come and experience the end product."
