So much for sisterhood.

Contestants in the Miss Earth pageant nearly caused an international incident when a picture of them posing together was posted on Instagram.

Miss Earth Lebanon was stripped of her title Tuesday after posing for a photo with Miss Earth Israel, according to reports.

“Miss Lebanon Salwa Akar who participates in the #MissEarth2018 pageant had her title revoked today in Lebanon b/c she "dared" to take this photo w/ Miss Israel,” tweeted Ofir Gendelman, the Arabic-language spokesman for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “Miss Israel Daza Zreik is an Israeli-Arab, who proudly represents her country. Lebanese apartheid must be condemned.”

The photo shows Akar with her arm around Zreik. Both of them are making a peace sign.

Akar later posted on Facebook, but did not mention the controversy.

"My advocacy is to help people find peace and love within themselves so they can love each others and become peaceful with our mother earth," she wrote.

The international pageant promotes environmental awareness.

Lebanon forbids its citizens from visiting Israel or having any association with Israelis, according to the Jerusalem Post.
