Learning & Engagement

The mission of Access Services is to provide students, faculty, ASU partners, and the community with seamless access to collections, by connecting users to an array of virtual and physical library resources, “to uncover, discover and learn” by fostering a welcoming environment that is accommodating to academic research and inquiry and in support of the New American University and its promotion of “access, excellence and impact”.

The staff in Hayden Library’s Access Services Department assist users in a variety of ways: checking out material, providing information assistance, collection maintenance, course reserve, holds/patron request/book searches, Distance Education book delivery, 24/5 library building access, support for Periodicals/Videos/Microforms collections, and building security.  In addition, the Hayden Library Access Services staff also provides support for system-wide services including Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery/BorrowItNow, Library Billing, Disability Services, the High Density Collection (remote storage) and Western Regional Storage Trust (WEST).
