The Falling Away Of 2 Thessalonians 2 Bible Study

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Paul told us in 2 Thessalonians 2 that there would be a ‘falling away’ from truth, before the ‘man of sin,’ the ‘son of perdition’ arrived.

Most Christians apply the ‘falling away‘ to the end times, and they believe that it won’t happen to them.

What if I told you that the ‘falling away‘ occurred in the 4th century,
and the result of it probably shapes your beliefs today?

Before the man of sin, the son of perdition, the office of the Popes of Rome, came to power in 538 A.D., the Bishops were already at work in the Roman Empire.

Today the Roman Catholic Church, the Orthodox Church and the Protestant Churches, express their faith in what is called The Nicene Creed.

At the first council at Nicaea in 325 A.D, Roman Emperor Constantine began to create the religion of ‘Christianity’, based on their Roman pagan worship rituals.

Here is a brief explanation of the changes that Emperor Constantine and the Bishops of Rome made, which oppose the Holy Scriptures.

They serve to steal glory and honor away from the Father, and they cause the followers of the Messiah to be out of covenant with Him.

You will see how today’s Christian churches are still following these changes today, and so they are steeped in the Babylonian religion without knowing it.

They banned people from observing the seven Holy Feast Days, which our Messiah is fulfilling to redeem us, which His followers should still observe. The Feast of Trumpets has not been fulfilled yet and it represents His return, so it’s important to know.

And they created the pagan-based holidays of Easter and Christmas, to replace them.

They banned the followers of Christ from observing the 7th day Sabbath rest, which marks us as followers of the Messiah.

And they created The Lord’s Day of worship on SUNday, which honors the god “ba’al”.

They changed the personal Hebrew name of the Father from Yahuah,

to the generic ‘god’, as there are many impersonal, false gods.

Friend, you can discount that list and say that God knows your heart; but the Scriptures warn us:

You must not worship Yahuah your God in their way, because in worshiping their gods, they do all kinds of detestable things Yahuah hates.” Deuteronomy 12:31

Keep in mind our Messiah’s words in Matthew 7:21-23

Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!

The moral law of the Torah, the commandments to observe the Holy Feast Days and 7th Day Sabbath, were not nailed to the cross and eliminated, as so many people teach.

The ceremonial law was fulfilled by our Messiah, who is fulfilling the Holy Feast Days in exacting detail, so we don’t have to observe the ceremonial part of the law, meaning we don’t have to sacrifice a lamb on Passover anymore.

The written record of your transgressions, which testifies against you and condemns you, was nailed to the cross of Calvary.

We are saved by grace, but we demonstrate our love of the Father, by obeying the commandments of His Law, His Torah.

Does the Messiah really know us:

If we call Him the wrong name?

If we don’t celebrate the Holy Feast Days, which He is fulfilling for your redemption?

If we don’t rest in Him on His perpetual Holy 7th day Sabbath, which marks our covenant with Him?

Am I saying that one has to know and observe those things to be saved?

No, but why would a follower of Messiah not want to know the Hebrew name that His parents and disciples called Him?

Why would a follower of Messiah not want to know about the Father’s seven divine appointments, which Messiah is fulfilling to redeem us?

Why would a follower of Messiah not want to know about the fall Feast Day which represents the harvest and Messiah’s return for His bride?

Here’s a recording of a webinar where we discussed the fulfillment of the Falling Away and the Son of Perdition of 2 Thessalonians 2. Note: Use the full-screen option to be able to read the text on the screen better.

Friend, I contend that most Christians today are following the false teachings of the Roman Church, and the Father can’t be pleased with their form of worship.

I pray that you will not dismiss that statement, but rather would be like the Bereans and search out the Scriptural truth of the matter.

We do not want the teachings of the Antichrist Roman Catholic Church to mark our beliefs or actions.

Friend, I pray that the Spirit of Truth will grant you eye salve to see that many Christians are steeped in the religion of the Harlot Church, Mystery Babylon.

Your Messiah said “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.” Revelation 18:4

David, I disagree on the following point. Passover has nothing to do with the sacrificial system of offerings. Although Yahusha did die for our sins and was referred to as “the lamb slain” and “our Passover lamb,” the Passover cannot be thought of as a sin offering. It in no way resembles the sin offering for the priest or the ordinary person. Nor does it resemble the guilt or peace offering or the grain offering. In fact the sin offering was also offered on the day of Pesach or Passover. The Passover command is a forever command. The Passover lamb is killed each year for a meal. Nothing more ..just as the Father commanded us to do. It is also another mark of Yahuah’s. It’s a mark we as His people need to have as we rehearse this feast each year. I did not provide scripture to back up what I am saying because I am about to go out the door. Please be like the Bereans and search it out for yourself and for the sake of your followers. Thanks for some good info and for using the correct names. Gail

Thank you for your comment Peter! I pray that the Ruach gives eye salve to the visitors of the websites, so that they can see the truth and proclaim it to the world!

Yes, we are watching Revelation prophecy be fulfilled, so that we can understand the context of Messiah’s return! Here is a summary study that shows you what has been fulfilled, where we are at on the fulfillment timeline, and what will happen next as we await Messiah’s return.

Grace, peace and love to you!

hello, i am trying to understand your teaching, i was brought here by an article you wrote saying jonathan kleck is a false teacher. but i must speak what is on my mind from what i have read here (falling away) and there (article about jonathan). I don’t know more than the spirit has shown me, which is a lot (i say humble). but i must point out.
Romans 10 is a great read, but specifically,
Romans 10:4 for christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believes.
Another great read is Galatians 5
Galatians 5:14 for all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
i could go on and on, but i will sum it up.
old testament, new testament
the law grace
matthew 22:
36, master, which is the great Commandment in the law?
37, Jesus said unto him, thou shalt love the lord God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38, this is the first and great Commandment
39 and the second is like unto it, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thy self.
40, on these two Commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

so this is not a matter of keeping the law, in fact christ healed on the sabbath to make that point. its about love for God and for each other, doing it because we know it is the right (righteousness) thing to do, or because we want to, or love that person enough to do it. to go the extra mile, as in the good samaritan.
Not because someone said “DO IT”! or else.
No, where would the free will be?
this is about the sheeps and the goats, the believers and the non believers, the law or grace. God gave us a way home, believe and receive, what comes after should be a new man as it is written, not because we are working our way to heaven, but because we love to do what is good.

tim April 26, 2017 at 6:15 pm

i must add, that by keeping the two great commandments we are fulfilling the law, if i love you i can’t kill you or covet you, or steal from you right!
So it is my understanding that if you do not accept christ, then you remain under the law, because you did not accept the gift that was given freely. and the law remains for those still under it.
but we are no longer under the law after passing to grace.
Romans 6
14: for sin shall not have dominion over you, for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

MMK May 13, 2017 at 8:11 am

Hi Tim,
You are not under any law until you break the law. Then you feel what it is to be under the power of the law when you are “prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law”.
When we ‘abide in Christ’ we are not under the law because as Christ could boldly declare “who of you convicts me of sin” the same can be said by those who are in Christ as they cannot sin (sin is breaking the law) while they remain in Christ. As soon as we take our eyes off Christ, we begin to sink into sin (law breaking) and will continue to sink lower and lower unless we have enough sense to look to the Lamb of God crying ‘Lord save me’.
None other than Gabriel put it simply “He will be called Jesus for he will save his people from their sins.”
The entire atonement was because of transgression. Shall we continue in sin (transgression) that grace may abound? God forbid! How can we remain in sin after seeing the price paid for our salvation?
The essence of the Gospel is the teaching that those who accept God’s remedy for sin can escape “the power of Satan”, that is, rebellion against the government of God. What government is there without law? The law against worshiping idols is not an issue to one who loves the created. They hardly need that law as they have no such inclination. Therefore, ‘love is the fulfillment of the law’.

Faithback May 13, 2017 at 8:15 am

Correction: The law against worshiping idols is not an issue to one who loves the CREATOR.

I cannot read the you tube thing and I don’t like the banter and laughing going on while I am trying to read the infp on the theologians of the early centuries. I cannot scroll down to read anything and I cannot enlarge the text or minimize the screen or exit without using ESC button on my computer.
It’s really annoying as I was interested in what Cyril of Jerusalem had to say about the pope. Please fix these things!

David January 4, 2018 at 3:10 am

The youtube videos is from a conference call. Sorry for the background noise. I don’t think that we talked about Cyril of Jerusalem though. Not sure what you’re referring to.

The evidence for the name 2 websites are not there or not working

Cheryl, I clicked on all of the links to the websites, and they worked for me. Can you copy and paste the url links to the ones that don’t work for you?

Ike April 7, 2018 at 10:08 pm

I would like to point out that the current modern calendar and the calendar of God by the moon do NOT CORRELATE in the least bit…and Jesus knew this would happen and to further confuse the gentiles the Catholic Church would intentionally change the calendar. So…your 7th day and feast days no long correlate with God’s calendar. All who have studied this issue know the truth. The calendar was changed to further promote the Babylonian City of Confusion and poke another finger at God in defiance. So if you want to be completely obedient you have to follow the moon and this will open a can of worms you will wish you never opened!

David April 8, 2018 at 5:22 pm

I agree Ike that calendar of Scripture, which is based on the sun and moon, is not compatible with the Roman calendar. I cover that in the The Sabbath Was Changed To SUNday study.

Ike April 8, 2018 at 5:21 am

Why is the Sabbath not mentioned after Paul becomes disgusted with the Jews rejection of truth, goes to the gentiles. You find none of the following phrases:
on the following sabbath/feast day
when you come together on the sabbath/feast day
and the letter was read to the congregation on the sabbath/feast day
and they were assembled on Passover
or when they came together on Passover, Atonement…
None of this phraseology appears anywhere, doesn’t this show that those who put you under Sabbath and Feast Day LAW are Judaizers and lawmen. It is TOTALLY ABSENT FROM ANY OF THE EPISTLES. To teach a doctrine or a command that is totally absent from scripture is heresy. Those who do such things are blind guides and wish to place you under law and legalism and even attach it salvation; they say it is a MARK of fidelity to God and TELL YOU or IMPLY it is the MARK of the BEAST not to keep any day but Saturday (which under stick Mosaic Law the 7th day is NOT SATURDAY) or that if you keep Sunday you are WORSHIPING the BEAST by being obedient to Rome. These are Judaizers, Hebrew Roots Heretics and liars wishing to bring you into bondage!

David April 8, 2018 at 5:31 pm

In one comment you proclaim the Scriptural calendar is not compatible with the Roman sun calendar. And the next one it seems that you are denouncing following the Father’s feast days and Sabbath. You’re not an easy one to understand Ike.

Messiah fulfilled Passover as the Passover Lamb, He fulfilled the Feast of Unleavened Bread as He was in the grave and He was sinless. He fulfilled the Feast of First Fruits, as He rose again. He fulfilled the Feast of Pentecost when He poured out the Spirit on His saints.

Messiah will return on the fall Feast of Trumpets. He will make judgment on the Feast of Atonement. And He will marry His bride on the Feast of Tabernacles.

Am I wrong for setting aside those Feast days, to remember what Messiah has done for me? And to remember that He will return for me? Surely not!

Am I wrong to set aside the Sabbath day, to rest in the Father and Messiah, to read Scriptures, to sing songs of praise, and to pray? Surely not!

Am I pushing these things on people? Am I condemning them for not observing them? Am I making it a salvation issue? No!

Colossians 2:16 goes both ways. Don’t judge people who respect the Sabbath and the holy Feast Days. “Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:”

Colossians 2:17 tells us that these things will be restored when Messiah returns, “Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.”

What are your thoughts about that?

Ike April 9, 2018 at 12:55 am

David, the Lord clearly showed me that new Christians are very sensitive and must be protected from wolves who want to devour them. Wolves do not fully let sheep know what they really believe in and wolves slowly introduce poison into them with their deception once they get their hook in them. So I am very sensitive myself to every word men write or expound because there are untold numbers of deceiver on the internet. I just want clarification and precision.

John Gill fully expounds what I believe…here it is and it comes from e-sword which is downloadable on the internet. He is the only one I have found that clearly states MY belief.

Romans 14:6
He that regardeth the day, regardeth it to the Lord,…. The apostle strengthens the above advice with this reason, because what is done both by one and the other, is done unto the Lord. The weak brother that esteems one day above another, and regards the passover, pentecost, and feast of tabernacles, a new moon, or a seventh day sabbath, does it in obedience to the commands of the Lord, which he thinks are still binding, not knowing that they are disannulled by Christ; and the worship performed by him on any of those days is done in the name and strength of the Lord, with a view to his glory, and as believing it was pleasing in his sight; and whether he is right or wrong, it is to the Lord he does it, and to his own master he stands or falls. The following clause is omitted in the Alexandrian copy and some others, and in the Vulgate Latin and Ethiopic versions, but is in most Greek copies, and retained in the Syriac and Arabic versions.

And he that regardeth not the day, the Lord he doth not regard it; believing it is the will of the Lord, that all distinction of days should cease; and that the law of commandments contained in ordinances, respecting such Jewish days, is abolished by the Lord Jesus Christ; and that it is to the honour the Lord not to observe them: for to regard the days of the feast of tabernacles, is tacitly to say, that the Word has not tabernacled among us; and to observe he days of the passover, is virtually to deny that our passover is sacrificed for us; and to keep the day of Pentecost, is all one as to affirm, that the firstfruits of the Spirit have not been given; and to regard a new moon, is in effect to say, that the church has not received evangelical light from Christ, the sun of righteousness; and to keep a seventh day sabbath, is a strong insinuation, as if Christ the true sabbath, in whom we have our spiritual and eternal rest, is not come; however, it is to the Lord that the stronger brother and more confirmed believer disregards any of those days; and it is to his own master he stands or falls, nor is he to be judged of man’s judgment: and the same is the case of the eater, or non-eater of meats forbidden by the law: JOHN GILL

David April 9, 2018 at 1:13 am

Thanks for sharing Ike. I’ve learned much from John Gill. So do I come across as pushing the Sabbath and holy Feast Days on people?

Easter and Christmas are based on pagan religious beliefs about the fertility goddess and the incarnate sun god. Do you believe that Christians should participate in them?

Ike April 9, 2018 at 2:53 pm

Christmas and Easter: Two-abominable feast days of Babylon introduced by wicked men knowingly to dilute the truth and place blinders on the eyes of faithful Christians. God hates mixture of truth and lies, of light and dark, and of righteousness and abominations. Men and women who accepted these abominations into the body of Christ, marked themselves as unbelievers who do not posses the Spirit and mind of Christ. Do not argue or contend with them.
Even a cursory study will give the necessary understanding of why you cannot mix light with darkness. True Christians will seek to know and understand truth and will “come out from among them and not be equally yoked”. Personally, I will not spend time expounding these truths. The Holy Spirit is the only one who can lead men and women into the truth, there is no other way!

David April 9, 2018 at 3:24 pm

Thanks for sharing that insight Ike. So am I understanding correctly, that you don’t observe the Father’s holy Feast Days and Sabbath?

Ike April 9, 2018 at 5:24 pm

David, your subtlety is beyond words. You do not tell people the truth about your beliefs and your understanding is darkened. You will proceed no further according to this word I now speak unless you repent. WLC

As one who was caught up to the third heaven as Paul was, you can bet God knows exactly what you and other who promote your doctrine are doing and absolutely all of you will give an answer to Jesus Christ in that day. I will no longer answer any of your subtleties. You are the serpent on the rock that they marvel at!

David April 9, 2018 at 5:29 pm

Excuse me?!? I’ve clearly explained that I don’t observe the pagan Easter and Christmas, and I do observe the Holy Feast Days and Sabbath. I don’t push the observance of the Feast Days and Sabbath on others, but provide information about what I have learned about what Scripture is proclaiming.

I asked you questions to try to understand what you believe and observe, as I’m a bit confused about that, and you turn on me and condemn me.

Makes no sense Ike!
