The career of the young Lithuanian, Martynas Levickis, is full of contradictions. He studied at the venerable Royal Academy of Music in London while at the same time decisively winning the Lithuanian version of the “Got Talent” show. On his CD he plays with David Garrett, but also works with leading chamber musicians of his generation. His repertoire extends from Baroque via pop arrangements to contemporary music.
That this can all be combined together rests on the fact that Martynas is an absolutely extraordinary talent and one whose musicality should not be missed. Thus it is an honour for the Bach Festival to offer the stage to this pop star of the accordion. Welcome to the footsteps of Bach, Martynas Levickis!
