Artist's Statement:
Brassil worked with video, installation and sculpture. Her work was primarily concerned with ideas or questions. She began her career as a full-time artist in her early fifties, but her art training began in her teens. She had an extraordinary capacity to translate philosophical questions about the nature of life into highly engaging, and often very moving, environments and sculptural forms.
