Iqra Aziz and Zahid Ahmed's pairing in Gustakh Ishq had us excited since the very begining. The two actors have a reputation for picking up projects with a good story line and potential acting and therefore we kept our fingers crossed. And now we are glad to see that even after 16 episodes the drama is still going strong, not only because the story is outstanding but because of its main character Najaf and her absolutely lovable nature.

We love how Mustafa Ayub has described Najaf's character. Despite facing so many hardships in life and never having received love from anyone besides her father, mamu and now Sikandar, Najaf does not hate or wish ill for anyone; not even her step mother who literally threw her out of the house when her father left for abroad. One hour of watching the pleasant Najaf onscreen and we're left thinking how wonderful this place would be if more girls like Najaf actually existed.

So coming back to this week's episode; we liked it because it was simple yet engaging and managed to keep our attentions hooked.

Sikandar (Zahid Ahmed) is adamant on marrying Najaf. She was the reason he left Maliha (Noor Khan), a decision we are glad he took although he later found out she was Najaf's sister only. Najaf did not want to seek happiness on the cost of her sister (who by the way has no feelings for Najaf) but upon discovering that her mumani took money from Maliha's step mum to bring her daughter closer to Sikandar, Najaf thinks for herself for the first time. Sikandar's insistence and how he will never marry Maliha even if Najaf said no to him, makes her ponder and she finally says yes to him.

With Najaf getting the chance to see some happiness in her life, we have a feeling that Maliha or her step mother might create hurdles in the way. They are gearing up to visit Sikandar's father (Abid Ali) and tell him that his son wants to marry a girl who is not at the same status as his. Perhaps Sikandar's father will force him to rethink his decision or maybe something else happens to ruin Najaf's happiness. Whatever it is we look forward to watching the next episode of Gustakh Ishq directed by Furqan T Siddiqui.

If we talk about the whole concept of Gustakh Ishq, it comes across as a very simple story but with a great cast including the legendary Abid Ali along with Zahid Ahmed, Iqra Aziz and Noor Khan. Zahid and Iqra have a brilliant on screen chemistry and its a delight to see them in the drama. As far as Noor Khan is concerned, she needs to emote in line with her dialogues because this stagnant expression of hers makes all her roles look and feel the same. We are hopeful that in her upcoming projects we will get to see a more versatile Noor Khan for sure.

So, like us if you want to see what life has in store for the very pretty and kind Najaf and the handsome Sikandar, then don't forget to tune in every Tuesday at 8 pm only on Urdu 1 to see Gustakh Ishq.
