Want to know what it's like to work at ITHAKA? Here's a peek into how we build products, leveraging diverse ideas from everyone.
We are a dynamic, passionate team continually looking for new talent.
Staff at ITHAKA are committed to helping our local communities and having fun doing it. We take part in the Commuter Challenge to encourage alternatives to driving in Ann Arbor, support efforts to ensure low-income children have school supplies to start the school year across all our office locations, work together in food pantries, and enjoy filling some small dreams each year through efforts like New York Cares Winter Wishes.
Fundamentally, ITHAKA is a learning organization. We are passionate about helping others grow through access to knowledge and education, and that starts with our own team. We believe that every day presents an opportunity to improve ourselves as an organization, as professionals, and as people.
Five core values define our culture: belonging, evidence, speed, teamwork, and trust. Together these values enable us to empower every person in our organization to feel secure, to take risks, to learn and grow, and to make decisions and do the things that bring our mission to life.
I have been working at ITHAKA part-time (More than 10 years)
Pros
ITHAKA rewards talented people, helping them grow whether inside the organization or beyond if that's the right career move. I've had great learning and growth opportunities, taking on a range of roles - full-time and part-time - in my years here. Leadership is very supportive of life changes (children, aging parents, etc.) and flexible.
Cons
I have zero cons about the work environment and culture. The organization is committed to learning, encourages feedback from it's employees, and makes changes. It just keeps getting better.
Application
I applied in-person. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at ITHAKA (Princeton, NJ) in March 2010.
Interview
Interview was mainly technical including different open source frameworks that includes Hibernate/Spring /GWT/ JSF/ JBOSS/ RichFaces(To name a few) and mainly the challenges that I have faced during my earlier positions. An Architect, Director and a Lead Developer were included in the panel. They targeted different areas(Personal skills, Technical and Design etc). They came up with different questions on my resume.
