Happy Halloween! Complete with Politically Correct ghouls.

This Megyn Kelly story caught my attention last week. She is (was) the host of a morning talk show on the NBC television channel. I don’t watch morning TV but I dimly remember her from her previous employment at Fox News. As best I can remember, she was a capable interviewer. I can’t recall having any negative impression of her.

But last Tuesday she was chatting with someone on the show hen the subject of Halloween costumes came up—in particular, the matter of white people who put on blackface as part of a Halloween act. Someone said it was racist. To which Megyn responded:

Clip: But what is racist? Because you do get in trouble if you are a white person who puts on blackface on Halloween, or a black person who puts on whiteface for Halloween. Back when I was a kid [JD: Kelly is only 47, and looks younger] that was OK, as long as you were dressing up as, like, a character.

That caused wailing and rending of garments from sea to shining sea and across the fruited plain. Ms. Kelly was denounced from CultMarx pulpits everywhere. Some woman named Roxanne Jones at the CNN website honked that “For me the most revealing part of Kelly’s explosive comments was their illumination of her true face as an out-of-the-closet racist.” [Megyn Kelly's 'blackface' comments show her true face, October 25, 2018] Ms. Jones’s own true face is pictured right.

Ms. Kelly made a grovelling apology but of course it only made things worse.

You must never apologize to these swine; it just further inflames their vindictiveness.

NBC has suspended Ms. Kelly. [Megyn Kelly’s ‘Blackface’ Remarks Leave Her Future at NBC in Doubt, By John Koblin and Michael M. Grynbaum, NYT, October 25, 2018] The fate of her contract, which paid her $69 million for three years’ work, is still unknown.

There are rumors that NBC was unhappy about her poor ratings and looking for an opportunity to drop her. That may be true for all I know. But the media storm of outrage over her Halloween remarks was none the less real.

What struck me about her remarks was their mildness. People are outraged about that?

Yes, a great many people are.

I had a similar reaction recently listening to a talk about sexual harassment. The talker was a female attorney who represents harassed women. She was obviously quite passionately engaged with the issue. She read out some of the depositions she had taken from plaintiffs in harassment cases. Samples from memory:

  • “He made lewd remarks every time I came into his office.”
  • “He put his hand on my rear end.”
  • “He tried to kiss me at a Christmas party.” (I think this was the strongest one):

I was sitting there listening to this, thinking: “That’s it? That’s a case in law? It just sounds to me like everyday office banter.”

I’d better admit I haven’t done full-time office work for nearly twenty years now. In the thirty years I was doing it, I can’t recall a single issue of anything I would call sexual harassment.

Guys were sometimes a nuisance to women, especially at office parties where the punch was flowing, but phrases like: “Oh, grow up, George!” and, “Would you keep your hands to yourself, please, Larry?” were still current back then.

Putting the two things together—Megyn Kelly and that lady attorney—it seems to me we have amped up sensitivity to a point where any kind of relaxed social life will soon become impossible.

When I first heard the word “microaggression,” I laughed. Could people really be serious who used that word? I wondered.

They certainly could; and now they have taken over. The merest shade of a hint of a tinge of a tint of negativity towards blacks, or of sexual suggestiveness to a female co-worker, is now a hanging offense, or at least a career-ending one.

The Swiftian ditty I recalled when microaggressions first came up—I think it was from one of Steve Sailer’s commenters—has come true:

Microaggressions have nanoaggressions
To marginalize and slight ‘em.
And nanoaggressions have picoaggressions;
And so ad infinitum.

This is the end of free banter, the end of workplace conviviality.

It also supplies the answer to the question: Why are comedians not funny any more? Answer: Because they dare not be.

But how did we get here? What or who been driving this dreadful development?

I’ll go with “who” and give you my answer: the Trial Lawyer’s Association.

Back in 2001—boy, I’m really digging into the archives this week—I wrote a column titled Race on Wall Street.” I told the story of the small department where I worked in an investment bank. In the several years I worked there, just three black employees came and went. Two of the three ended up with a lawsuit against the firm for racial discrimination, citing a different boss in the two cases. The firm settled in both cases—these firms always settle out of court. One of the settlements was for $250,000 dollars.

In daily interaction with these people across some two thousand days, I had witnessed nothing—setting aside [a] harmless kind of banter—that struck me as offensive, inflammatory or discriminatory.

But Managing Director of the firm explained the process to me. There is a breed of attorneys, he told me, who seek out black employees at big-money firms and explain to them that by signing a couple of depositions they can make a bundle of money.

The sexual harassment panic is a horse out of the same stable. Predatory trial lawyers seek out neurotic women, coach them on what to say, write up the depositions, and [ker-ching!]

This is the world we live in. Guided by the trial lawyers, and the merchants of racial grievance, we are drifting back to a stiff kind of Puritanism.

I don’t like Puritanism. I like to laugh.

Puritans don’t laugh—except at the sight of a burning witch.

WHY ARE PEOPLE STILL WATCHING TV? SO ANTIQUATED.

    Thanks for the article, Sir.

This is not Puritanism, but police state-ism. The former is based on some principles, the latter on control.

I am surprised people are still watching TV. Turn it off!! Get your news online.

The trash they spew the whole day, on TV, is just too sickening. Throw away the TV.

I did that and I feel much better. I can eat dinner in peace now.

  2. I don’t watch morning TV but I …

… should keep that up all day? You’ll feel lots better for it, John.

I STILL take the term microaggression as a joke, though the fact that spell-check did not flag it is kind of scary in and of itself.

You are absolutely right that lawyers of the ambulance-chasing variety have taken the fun out of everything. The young people seem to like it this way, though, which is just sad.

This clip from The Office is just perfect for your post here, and, yes, there is an English version, in case its humor still would better float your boat*:

    * I got ripped/burned The Office DVDs on the street in China for 2 bucks. It started with one season of the English version with Ricky Gervais (a very funny guy). I don’t think the seller knew the difference – all just silly white people.

  3. Oh, BTW, that Megan Kelly is hot, or so it seems. That’s reminding me to write a blog post on the phenomenon of Halloween having become a time for young women to show their T&A via (usually) witch, ballerina, and, I’m guessing here, slut costumes?

Touching someone’s ass doesn’t seem like “banter” to me. But neither does it rise to the level of moral depravity that feminists and leftards want to claim for it.

  5. What’s missing above in the talk about the predatory dishonest trial lawyers being the problem -

Is What and Who is behind the trial lawyers, the judges, and the whole legal system culture, now accepting nonsense as the basis of legal claims and extorted ‘settlements’ … nonsense that would have been laughed out of court, and resulted in sanctions for friviolous litigation, in another era

Simply, it is more cultural Marxism, the oligarchy using one of its prime mafias – the lawyers – to damage lives and businesses, to destroy the old middle class and especially to thwart European-heritage males, and place people in general in fear

And to increase the power and size the lawyer mafia, who get used to enriching themselves by lies, and who become forever servants for the oligarchs, always available to do oligarch bidding to destroy anyone and everyone, under ‘colour of law’, approved by a ‘judge’ so therefore ‘legal’

I can eat dinner in peace now.

Dinner, hell, that’s not the half of it for most people. It’s while getting dressed, cooking dinner, waiting at the airport , or sitting in the waiting room for the dentist or used car dealer. In some of those latter cases, it is out of our control, and in some it’s not, but people sure do take their TV very seriously.

John Prine, in his prime, had something to say about this:

    Blow up your TV.
    Throw away your papers.
    Go out to the country.
    Build you a home.

    Plant a little garden.
    Eat a lot of peaches.
    Try to find Jesus
    on your own.

BTW, Rational, I wrote my 1st comment in the incubation period, in which one can’t seen any written so far. I agree wholeheartedly with yours though.

It may have been pushed by, and/or to the benefit of the “Trial Lawyers”, but it certainly has resulted in the wielding of extreme power by particularly (white) women in the work place. Yes, (actual) minorities (in the US) may have benefited, but “microaggressions” involving alleged sexual harassment and discrimination based upon gender, have become so wide in scope and so classically cliche, that women can merely make assertions without merit to improve their political position in the workplace.

There are 20, 30 and even early 40 years olds that go around bringing up “barefoot and pregnant” “a woman’s place is in the kitchen” cliches, to set the tone of a conversation with men, even though no one has ever said any such thing to them. Every smart man knows when a woman is setting up a narrative because she starts make soft-claims/parallels and draws on largely accepted myths (that women make less than mean due to sexism, etc, “you just don’e respect women” the first time you disagree with them). Men are terrified of being the subject of a witch hunt ( as well as a racial one), and so there is a race to be the top white knight. Until lately, this was true of racist claims–although now white women are being subjected to it.

The take down of Megyn Kelly is not surprising–pretty white women are on the list now–nor is it necessarily unjust in a universal sense. She played the “sexism” card against Trump, because he did not personally bow to her. She did so in a national forum to try to embarrass him and damage his candidacy, out of her own sense of self-righteousness. Now a black woman and society has done the same to her. [Note: It's doubtful she had not done the same take downs and attempted take downs to male co-workers coming up through her career].

Well, it’s not Instant Karma, but a little Latent Karma does the trick too. What’s her next step, sexy Halloween Costumes? Anything to stay on TV, I guess.

    OK, take it, Willie …

Just a little old fashioned karma comin’ down,
just a little old fashioned justice comin’ round,
a little bit of sowin’, a little bit of reapin’,
a little bit of laughin’, a little bit of weepin’,
just a little old fashioned karma comin’ down.

    * BTW, are you a “sub-continental”? The Iberian Peninsula is a subcontinent of Europe, so … just askin’.

  11. “You must never apologize to these swine; it just further inflames their vindictiveness.”

Absolutely. This cultural-Marxist demon rampaging throughout the Western world only grows stronger when people begin to doubt their convictions. One of my heroes, Professor Howard Birack, a physicist who taught at USC, predicted the multi-cultural West would collapse into a communist-capitalist hybrid. If this demon is not stopped we’ll be dealing with a market system that enshrines elite profits while punishing the plebeians with a societal credit score along with the financial component. Unfortunately, or fortunately, Professor Birack is no longer around to see his prophecy unfold: he disappeared after his involvement in a mysterious incident in 1987.

It’s less puritanism than Moral Snobbery. There is real morality based on reasoned thought and honest emotions, and there is status-morality based on signaling that one BELONGS in the haute community of proper-minded people.

It’s like there’s real academia(what’s left of it anyway) and Fake-academia or Fakedemia(most of humanities nowadays) where true learning and thought counts for less than displaying one’s mastery of Established Thinkerisms. How else did Avital Ronell become such a ‘celebrated’ professor?

People never grow out of high school mentality where FITTING IN and BEING APPROVED/ACCEPTED count for more than being true to oneself. You see this among the jocks, the popular girls. You also see it among the nerds. To be part of the tribe, the set, the element, the clique, the society.

Now, the rules of what is proper changes according to who-has-the-power, and Kelly’s ‘crime’ was she forgot the script and the codes.

But then, she deserves no sympathy for us because she tried to get Trump with some bogus feminist PC about what he said about stupid women in the past. Because she got her job with her looks — her interview with Putin shows she is a total dingbat — and because she was seen as a ‘conservative’ at much despised Fox(in a media environment dominated by Libby-dibs) –, she wanted to burnish her reputation as a hard-nosed feminist. But people saw right through her, that phony.

She got what she deserved, and it couldn’t have happened to a better person, either. Strict adherence to dogma or a charismatic leader exemplifies all cults. When you join a cult, you implicitly agree to their rules. Kelly inadvertently broke one of them, and she was excommunicated as a result. Besides, she only got her NBC gig in the first place because they thought she’d bring in disaffected republicans and be a powerful rallying point against their political enemy Donald Trump. They were wrong, so they didn’t have much use for her. They’ll search for another fake republican to oppose Trump; they’ve already got guys like David Brooks. Like all imperial occupying powers, they choose a fake figurehead leader to sway the local masses in the Ruling Class’s favor.

  27. I don’t know about Puritanism. Perhaps a bit of a metaphor but this is more like the circle of the firing squad of the the French Revolution…..The SJWs will always eat and kill their own. SJWs don’t care what you think; they don’t care what’s true. They only care that you abide by their ever changing false narratives. Megan Kelly was marked from the beginning for removal by SJWs. She is a hot looking white chick. That’s automatically two strikes against her. Just look at the obese black and white hogs that haunt the SJWs scene on tube and in print. They hate her just for that and that’s enough to remove any women who isn’t at their daily disposal.

Derbyshire misses the real problem and that is no matter what a white person does if some black moron disagrees with it then they are racist because the “magic blacks” can do no wrong. Kelly’s first mistake was backing down. She should have said something like why do many so many black celebrities light their skin…..should whites be offended?

Slaps work pretty good too. Back in the day, when I was a high school math teacher in East L. A., I had a sixth period Algebra class infested with ninth grade squirrels. Two of the worst were a boy named Jose who had a reputation as a bit of a Romeo and a rather attractive but talkative girl named Lidia — who could not stand Jose. All the kids sat at these two person tables, so…

I put Jose and Lydia at the same table. Absolute silence ensued. Lidia tried pleading with me to reseat her, but no. I liked how this was working out just fine.

Silence for about another week. Then I guess Jose’s passion overcame him. While the kids were working through some practice exercises, out of nowhere came this thunderous slap. Lidia was looking madder than a wet hen, and Jose was rubbing his face with an abashed look. I and the rest of the class collapsed in laughter.

I think I took pity and reseated Lidia at that point.

Kelly is a moderate feminist, but she doesn’t appear to be very ideologically dogmatic. The spat with Trump was probably more of an awkward personality clash. She’s a typical upper middle class WASP woman who is used to dealing with mild-mannered guys with the total opposite personality of Trump, and she didn’t know what to make of him and his brash persona (note: she is married to a good looking but kinda wet tech nerd/author who likes Jordan Peterson’s shy younger brother).

She could probably interview a polite but highly controversial figure like Jared Taylor and be quite civil.

I agree that touching the posterior parts of a woman, if done deliberately, is rude and deserves at the very least a crisp rebuke. If repeated, perhaps some kind of disciplinary action.

But we should keep things in proportion. How often do women spontaneously touch men? The hand on the shoulder – or even the hand? Now some people will reply that it’s entirely different when women do it, because they aren’t filthy beasts with sex on their mind all the time.

Maybe. But does it make much difference to the touchee what the motive is? Perhaps we should have some standard office rules which include “no touching – of anyone by anyone – ever”.

  41. Tom Welsh says:
    @LondonBob

Puritanism has (or claims to have) an ethical motivation; but greedy unscrupulous lawyers don’t.

So it doesn’t matter whether the lawyers are exploiting Puritanism, feminism, Islam, Buddhism, pacifism or anything else – all they see in it is $profit$.

The USA has become a kind of “reductio ad absurdum” of the rule of law. That fine aspiration led to an ever-increasing pile of laws, with all sorts of fine distinctions and sub-clauses, which can be negotiated only by lawyers. As someone intelligently observed, the more laws a nation has, the more lawless it will be. The laws are a futile attempt to compensate for a lack of morality – which they cannot do.

So the USA has become the land of the shyster par excellence. If you can afford enough expensive lawyers, you can become remarkably immune to most of the laws. It’s a matter of choosing which laws to focus on in a given situation.

As Groucho Marx said, “Those are my principles; if you don’t like them I have others”.

  44. I agree with JD re excesses of PC, essentially anti-white racism, hysterical witch-hunt mentality… But I also think that modern Western societies, and US in particular, are over-sexualized & sterile simultaneously. It is pornification of the average mind that is the enemy, not historical Puritanism which was a complex phenomenon involving industriousness, fundamentalist Calvinism & all types of repression. Basically, Puritans were educated, advanced & unhappy repressed Bible-centric groups; modern pseudo-Puritans are emotionally blackmailing weaklings with ulterior psycho-social motives.

  46. I think Kelly’s remark was totally innocent. At least compared to the half-dozen instances in the last couple months where you could see hosts on the network news shows publicly calling for “killing all the white people!”. Her ratings and appeal tanked with her move from Fox, and her remark gave them the perfect opportunity to get rid of her and probably to withhold the rest of her money. I worked in the biz for 30 years. Believe me, any moral posturing is total BS, it’s all about ratings and moola.

Anyway, the current rules are simple. Not only allowed, but encouraged: kill all the white people, castrate all the white men, vilify all those privileged skinny white bitches.

Not allowed: any remark, not matter how true, regarding blacks, hispanics, Jews/Israel, and any member of the Acronym People (LBLT whatever…).

Please be advised these rules can and do change instantly without prior notice.

In the midst of this Gab has been no-platformed by essential internet infrastructure providers at every level. We are the most censored, smeared, and no-platformed startup in history, which means we are a threat to the media and to the Silicon Valley Oligarchy.

    Gab isn’t going anywhere.

It doesn’t matter what you write. It doesn’t matter what the sophist talking heads say on TV. It doesn’t matter what verified nobodies say on Twitter. We have plenty of options, resources, and support. We will exercise every possible avenue to keep Gab online and defend free speech and individual liberty for all people.

You have all just made Gab a nationally recognized brand as the home of free speech online at a time when Silicon Valley is stifling political speech they disagree with to interfere in a US election.

The internet is not reality. TV is not reality. 80% of normal everyday people agree with Gab and support free expression and liberty. The online outrage mob and mainstream media spin machine are the minority opinion. People are waking up, so please keep pointing the finger at a social network instead of pointing the finger at the alleged shooter who holds sole responsibility for his actions.

Of course I wasn’t attempting to promote sexual harassment. If anything, my intention was just the opposite; to stifle social interaction entirely. Jose and Lidia wound up at the same table because that was about the only pairing that would silence both of them.

I don’t know why someone like Kelly would care as she is essentially an actress and the evening news isn’t much better, but rumor has it she was unhappy.

But civilized kids have been taught, by age 14, to sit still and pay attention to the material being taught instead of trying to pick up or bother the girls in the class. A classroom during the class period is not the place for “pursuing their social life.”

We all had raging hormones at that age. Funny how most of us didn’t have any problem restraining ourselves, refraining from groping the girls EVER, refraining from hitting on the girls in the classroom, and doing our damn work.

Sigh. You did notice the bit about how I was teaching in East LA?

Now, basically, there were three choices.

    1. Let kids talk. There were teachers who did that. To put it mildly, they weren’t as successful at teaching algebra as I was.

    2. Slam the kids with various punitive measures: detention, referral to the dean, phone calls to their parents. I wasn’t averse to these, but such measures weren’t my first choice.

    3. My first choice was measures such as I described. Put the kids where they wouldn’t want to talk. A classic was to park any talkative Chinese boys inside a circle of Hispanic girls. Instant silence all around. Of course, there being a decided shortage of talkative Chinese boys, this was of limited utility.

Then there was what I did in the instance described. I didn’t have desks. I had two-person tables. So both Jose and Lidia were going to have to sit with somebody they wouldn’t talk to. Well, that pretty much led to the solution I chose.

It was the unexpected outcome that was funny. And in the universe prior to the era of Neo-puritanism, it was pretty funny. Certainly almost everyone in the room thought so at the time. Even Jose did — and he’s the one who got slapped.

The broader “trial lawyers” thing has slowly got more American over the decades as class actions became possible then advertised for, though the costs rules are still more restrictive than in the US.

Sydney (where the convicts landed) has always suffered more from the aggressive litigators though Melbourne always had its ambulance chasers, often Labor Lawyers. African women are actually more feminine on the sheer level of fertility. Pregnancy and delivery are easier. This is why they have 4 to 5 children.

It is also why trying to assimilate this sort of fertility into an Anglo-Saxon paradigm is difficult. An African girl reaches peak fertility at what? Age 14? Or 16?

White women are going to have less difficulty avoiding pregnancy.

Since our post-industrial technological society is structured around a maximum of 2 kids conceived by college-educated 5 figure earners in their thirties it is awfully difficult for races that evolved at other latitudes to adhere to this.

    Painful, almost.

Well said. I especially like this part:

It’s doubtful she had not done the same take downs and attempted take downs to male co-workers coming up through her career

Every time I watch one of these “Permit Patty” or “BBQ Becky” call-out videos this is exactly the sense I have: a woman (and it’s almost always a woman) with an entire adulthood’s worth of experience being a pain in the ass–not minding her own business, calling other people out–now gets a taste of her own medicine. Orwell wrote that you can distinguish the downtrodden from the privileged by the entitlement the latter carry around with them; in fact, they’re so used to getting their way and being in charge that any minor indignity sends them into a fury. Women in general have been conditioned to think of themselves as victims and thus beyond reproach, but older middle-class white women lost touch with the victimological hierarchy for a quick minute and now are shocked to learn that they’re not allowed to bully everyone.

Yes I have….I once was gassing up my Harley Bike at the corner gas station in what was called, Warrendale, the ONLY remaining one square mile section of Detroit, that was almost all White Folk…meaning White owned homes etc…Still too many blacks passing thru to count. It is the Detroit area where about 1992 era, Blacks tried to open a prior long closed White grade school, within the neighborhood of all whites…Blacks called it an Malcolm X “academy”..! With an ALL Male Black students, school population!.( Dats Raasist!)….We soon had so Many blacks parents cars driving thru and parked in Our Curb side parking spaces, with Little space to park due to very small home lot sizes usually of, 120 ft deep X 40 Ft wide per single home lot, and narrow driveways that hold no more than, Two cars at best!….That black male school taught based on malcolm X & Islam!!!…Us Biker guys rallied along with white homeowners etc. And soon had entire school project shut Down never to return…Score one for Whiteys and White Bikers!…I did a huge 350 person Pig Roast at my crib, I had a double lot. I invited every neighbor out to a 1/2 mile away, most never came, but that method works swell to Halt objections to huge biker parties. If they don’t attend after personal invite?…They get a huge guilt complex if they complain of loud music etc or loud harleys. I got every single biker in the whole area, over a 1,000 bikers to agree to attend every white street protest untill that Black Male Only school is shut down…..It worked too!.. It was also Daily/Nitley on TV news two weeks as a very Huge issue. Okay back to Black drivers and such.

I had just finished gassing up, hanging pump nozzel back up onto pump station, when all of a sudden there was a very loud car crash sound…It litterally boomed so loudly, I felt it like when you feel the Drums & Bass at a Rock Concert!…..I quickly looked to the main intersection of streets named, W.Warren & Evergreen. Warren is main road with four lane blacktop, and evergreen is a two lane blacktop with a Red stop light at intersection….This was what I saw.

The White driver in a brand new black sedan car, who I prior noticed was stopped at Red Light and he was On Warren ave. Minding own buisness etc… No other vehicles were behind him. All of a sudden, another dark color car close to brand new driven by some Negro African guy, slammed into rear end of White guys car waiting at red light…The black guy was going at least, 50 mph+ in a 35 mph speed limit zone…His car totaled white guys car at red light…Pushed entire rear end of car almost up to rear window!…Then white guys car ended up mid way in intersection…

As Fast as I saw what just happened, I than saw at Least 8 More Black driven cars, going in every possible direction at a four way interrsection, with two of those black cars came up behind black guys car who caused accident…..Then just as fast as they all could slam on brakes and Jump out of all 8 cars….Every black driver, plus another half dozen or more various black pedestrians out and about in area on sidewalks etc…All Fast Ran to accident scene, and began Screaming at top of lungs, that…”I seen it! Its dat white crackahs fault, uh huh!”…me too! Me Too! I seenz it allz and dat whiteboy he beeez at fault!….I beez Yo Witless too Bro! and so on.

Every single black, now numbering well over a dozen plus, yelled about how they should drag dat whiteboy out of his car and beat him silly…..Reason for such vicious black anger? 2-Reasons mainly.

#1…Blacks simply HATE Whiteys!, and #2…Like Jews, Blacks always stick together like super glue.

One extremely Fat assed black women that drove up direct behind black driver at fault, jumped out of her car as fast as possible, and screamed how she saw it all, and it was the whitey guys fault, because, she claimed she Saw white driver, stopped at red light…Put his car into Reverse and Floor gas pedel to Back Up Into Black at fault drivers car!!!….Riiigghhhht!…Like anyone is ever going to stop at red light, and soon as he spots a negro driver coming up at rear, is going to shift gears into Reverse so he can smash the car coming up behind his car!

Yet once that fat ass black bitch said it was fact and true, all the blacks present there chimed in and like a chorus singing out….Screamed it was white guys fault for backing up at fast speed and Into Black guy behind him….Them savages were ready to kill the white guy who himself looked injured to me. White guy was not able to fully exit his car due to injuries. Probably due to massive Fear of so many savage black animals at one time too, eh.

Them black asshole driver “witlessneses” had their 8 cars stopped in every direction and blocking all traffic in every direction for at least 20 min or so until a Detroit Traffic cop car arrived on scene.

I went over to speak to that Cop, found out I knew him a little from the neighborhood etc, and I advised him as to every detail and how it Was black drivers fault 100%…Cop said just by a glance at what happened it was obviously a car hit in rear episode which is 99.99% always rear driver at fault.

Good luck in convincing any of them Low IQ Idiotic and savage monkey animal drivers of that fact though. Times like that is when one wishes no live witness is present, and one can remain behind good solid cover and…TCB so to speak…aka tcb= Take Care of Buisness! if you get that meaning.

PS: I place leaving Detroit behind fully back in, 1995 to go 200 miles North in Mich. as same rate of success and best overall decisions I ever made, right up there along with decision to quit school after eighth grade, age 15 yrs old, and stop doing catholic church same time frame…..and Self-Educating ever since….Them commies and bastards never got their hooks set very deep in me!

And my later on exit from Detroit and its related areas etc…Next best ever I ever chose to do.

Now daily Rush Hour traffic consists of “Maybe” as many as 5-6 Cars including mine at main and only red light in Town center!….Plus each driver is a White driver….Everybody here waves hello and acts like Family….Even complete strangers…It just takes about 2 full years to get fully accepted as one of their own, as folks are a bit leary to new comers even whitey new neighbors.

I Thank God I am White!…Thank you, Thank you, thank you! Cannot imagiane being anything else but White. How can them others even live with their selves is a huge mystery.

And I had live personal experience with such Minorities and savages and idiots which began in 2nd grade, after first black family moved onto my street. All Down Hill afterwards. Frankfurt school leaders were a half dozen or so German Jews, that knew they and their commie crap psycho babble teachings and agendas were going to get Booted Out from Germany in early 1930′s. They then set sights upon America. Especially the Universities to spread their crapolas and teach/create a whole new class of, Future school and college teachers and professors who would teach and promote that commie crap agenda.

They also realized that unlike how they hijacked Russia, and later on every eastern European nation, Via a full on, Bloody Jewish Revolt against Whites and Christians which began in 1917 Russia with their Jewish Bolsheviks as top leaders…..That such a bloody revolt will Never work if tried in America. Due to many reasons but mainly due to Americans have the 2nd amdnt, have 1/2 of entire Population armed to teeth, and have Natural God Granted Rights aka freedoms and liberty and the Bill of Rights etc.

“…white people never organize to support other white people.”

True. But why is it true? My guess is that most white Americans are in denial about their current predicament. They still think that they have the unquestioned majority status that they had until the 1990s or 2008. I see that Mr. Unz has something at the top corner of this website to donate and join the Unz Review forum. I hope that the people that have joined up already are discussing this very thing: The National Association For the Defense of White People. If it were formed, and the Left opposed it, then there would be absolutely no question about the Left’s hatred of white people. If Jews get the ADL, and blacks get the NAACP, then why can’t whites / gentiles get organized and defend themselves?

I looked into joining Identity Evropa. They assumed that I used Skype. I don’t. So I didn’t get very far with that, either. Has anyone else here at Unz joined IE?

I would like to pay the small fee to join Unz. I looked into it and I would have been required to join the Patreon page. I didn’t feel like I wanted an account with them so I did not complete the registration. But if there were a big Paypal donate button on this page I would click on it. ‘…Of course I went to Detroit Public schools…’

I’d never have considered teaching at a black school. I heard war stories from those who taught at inner city black schools…and experienced it as a student myself. Just to cite an illustrative example of how bad things can be, in my puppy years, I once had a temporary job delivering phone books. I was in South Central LA, and delivering one to a black junior high school. It was this three story rectangular building, occupying about a third of a city block.

Approaching it on foot from two blocks away, the building was emitting this roaring noise. It was literally incredible.

No…not for me. When I was looking for a position, I drew a circle on a map and only contacted schools inside that circle. That wasn’t how I was supposed to do it, but I had no intention of winding up at a black school.

Here’s the thing. There are some kids who are potentially disruptive. They’re not necessarily bad — usually just lively. However, they are disruptive. If anything, the fact that they can be likable makes it harder to deal with them.

Now, among East Asians, maybe one kid in a hundred will fit this description. Among both whites and Hispanics, it’s about one in ten. Maybe somewhat less, but say one in ten.

With blacks, it’s about one in two. If a class has more than — say — two such students, control is going to start to become an issue. Do the math on what’s going to happen if the class is predominantly black.

There are teachers who can ride herd on that. Not very many, though — nor was I one of them. Nor did I intend to try.

    How Do You Know-

I knew all of them in the 90′s when I was young. Scott, the off-campus drug dealer who was 22 and already on the run from child support ended up living in a trailer with his mother. Tasha, his girlfriend, ended up pregnant by another man who went to prison for homicide before the child was born. I’ve known all of them, in my youth.

All of them thought they were studs getting girls pregnant at 20, 22. Now they are 40 and have nothing. Probably their kids had shitty lives. It was not as if they had money for their kids college educations.

Maybe they have a drug problem-

The career druggies actually have a trade. They can move to any city and deal drugs. I knew one cocaine fiend in college who moved to Florida to sell drugs and apparently did quite well from it.

In general though once you get into crack or meth you cannot go 24 hours without a hit. So of course you are stuck in one place.

My experience with white proles was an astonishment at how young they got into drugs. At 12 they are smoking pot and at 14 they are into meth. Drugs flow freely in poor neighborhoods.

    Individual Life Experiences-

If you are 25 and have nothing going on in the US and manage to find a job overseas it can be helpful.

I never married in the US or had dependents.

So I was able to do whatever I wanted. Travel, work where I wanted.

I recall talking to Stanley on FACEBOOK years later. He was a Polish guy from Flint who dropped out when he got a girl pregnant. He returned to Flint to run a tanning salon.

His life was fairly depressing. His wife divorced him anyhow and his once-pleasant Polish neighborhood became full of hookers and crime. In his case, he could not give his house away and I don’t think he had the gas money to go anywhere.

    I sort of pitied him.

    That could have been me.

Yeah. Even taking them at their best, honesty is decidedly not blacks’ strong suit. You just cannot give serious credence to a statement made by a black. Sometimes I think they’re genuinely unaware of the concept of ‘truth’ as an external, objective thing existing apart from their desires and impulses.

Sort of. You’re making me smile. I remember my first year teaching, there was this Chinese kid in my geometry class. He’d keep talking — but every time I’d glance over at him, he’d give me this ‘me, talk? I’m Chinese’ expression. Perfect, moon-faced innocence.

He’s the one I parked in a nice circle of Hispanic girls. That shut him up (cue the Puritan trolls).

As to Hispanics vs whites, let me first make clear I’m talking about Mexicans et al — Indio-white as opposed to black-white. I did deal with both Hispanics and whites — with Hispanics both as a sub and as a regular teacher, and with whites as a substitute.

I’d say I actually prefer Hispanics. Even when they’re acting up, there’s a certain attitude of respect for you as an adult and a teacher. White kids can be irritatingly familiar (cue Puritan trolls again).

This is far from saying Mexicans are angelic — merely that I don’t find them any worse than whites.

Curiously, one group that supposedly are absolute devils — although I never had the dubious pleasure of verifying this in person — are Armenian boys. Apparently, to control them, you need to hit them — hard. Like, deliver a good hard slap, and you’ll have class control. They can do that in Armenian private schools. In public schools, it’s not a feasible tactic.

Well, I’ve never taught in the public schools, but that wouldn’t surprise me a bit.

It relates to something I was just mentioning to someone else. I’ve lived in CA nearly my entire life, and the politics of the state have followed an interesting trajectory.

Back in the mid-1960s, it was the whitest large state in the country, probably close to 85% white European. And now it’s the least white large state, probably not much over 30% white European.

But in recent years, I’d say the politics of the state have been quieter and less agitated than any period since 1966 when the (overwhelmingly white) unrest at Berkeley helped Reagan unseat Gov. Pat Brown. For decades afterward, CA went through all sorts of different political convulsions and was (correctly) known as one of the craziest in the country. But these days things are so extremely quiet and boring, it doesn’t even get in the national media nearly as much as it used to, except business news relating to the Tech industry and Hollywood.

Obviously, CA still has all sorts of serious problems such as housing, low wages, and expensive healthcare. But those are pretty “boring” sorts of problems.

I never even met anybody from Puritan colonial stock in Detroit…
Where would someone trace their roots to English puritans? New Hampshire?

My father was a ninth-generation Michiganian, and he had plenty of Puritan stock. (As well as a trace of French-Canadian from the first Detroiters.)

When Michigan achieved statehood in 1837, “Michigan fever” broke out in western New York state, to the point of an estimated 85% of new settlers coming from there. (I don’t know if that number includes those, like mine, who spent a few years in Indiana or Ohio along the way.) The great majority of those “York Staters” were the grandchildren of New Englanders.

And they intermarried with later arrivals. My Michigander cousin’s husband is 3/4 Polish. But through the other quarter, he’s a Mayflower descendant and approximately ninth cousin to his wife. Their grandchildren carry his name (rare even at home in Poland), yet are less than a quarter Polish themselves.

The Society of Mayflower Descendants in Michigan lists eight among their leadership with non-English names.

Well, women use whatever tool they have to make a career. If you go back 50 years the liberal and feminist culture was still weak and society protected white men from white women who lied about harassments and rape. However, today it is possible for white woman to do this and make a career even if it means that they destroy white men lives. However, white women are white women and as you say. White women have only been granted these extensive (and often abusive) rights to hurt white men. Megyn Kelly thought she was excluded from the anti-white culture. She was not and as soon she said something the liberal elite did not like she was out. I do not believe in this Puritan nonsense. You see the same thing all over the Western World. Liberals controls academia, politics, non-governmental organizations, finance, media, corporations, unions, think tanks, bureaucracy and entire professions (everything from doctors to primary school teachers). As soon liberals lose power over these institutions everything turns to normal. If you get rid of the elites and replace them with right-wing national-conservatism and feminism will come to an end pretty soon. This is what the Hungarian and the Poles are doing right now. They cut down liberalism wherever they find it. Hence, they building a new culture.

I think your interpretation of the silence is optimistic. It exists because Hispanics are now such a large proportion of the popuation — and Hispanics are almost completely disengaged from politics. That leaves government open to control by the Left and their pet minorities — and they pursue policies that are obviously very destructive to any functional society. Most visibly, see the huge encampments of the homeless in Los Angeles and the Bay Area — but it hardly ends there. The mayor of Oakland, for example, recently called in all seriousness for stripping certain white defendants of the right to be considered innocent until proven guilty. Gay marriage was rammed through against the repeatedly expressed wish of the majority. Sales tax is now close to ten percent. I believe California’s state income tax is one of the most radically progressive in the nation. At the moment, a high speed rail is being built that terminates in an orange grove outside Fresno.

If things are quiet, it’s the quiet of the grave. The democratic process, in several senses of the word, has simply ceased. The majority simply ignores politics, and the minority pursues a frivolous and irresponsible agenda.

This post is somewhat related to feminism, as there wouldn’t even be bubble-headed-bleached-blond news anchors if men did this work, as in the old days.

Well, I don’t necessarily disagree with you, but the negative aspects you’re describing seem nationwide as well. For example, Gay Marriage was rammed through against the wishes of the CA majority, but exactly the same thing happened everywhere else in America.

Certainly CA politics is almost totally dominated by the ultra-wealthy, but they’re also the ones hit hardest by the ultra-progressive income tax rates you decry. Meanwhile, I think property taxes are among the lowest in the country, which benefits the longtime homeowner.

Except for the extremely high cost of housing, I think most of the negative things in CA are found elsewhere, while we’ve avoided many of the current problems in other states.

    “Changing your behavior”

Most of the decisions these type of people make they do young, very young. And it more or less sucks them in for life.

You’ll find that most hardcore druggies starting with pot at age 12 and have been doing hard drugs since age 14. A frat guy who gets into coke at college at age 21 might become an addict but once he stops he is more or less the same. The real lifelong addicts started doing drugs when they were so young that their brain was still developing and formed around addiction.

Once someone gets into a hardcore drug and commits felonies to get more, that is it. There are many jobs he can never get.

The same goes for pregnancy. If you become a single parent after 25 you might be alright. If you become a single parent at 19 or 20 it is a serious handicap. If you become a single parent at 17 it is far more difficult. You can hardly have a career.

I’ve mentioned Stanley. He had a kid halfway through college and returned to Flint. He no longer had the money to leave Flint. He’s been stuck there ever since. The place got worse and worse but he did not have the money to flee the state.

  196. Meanwhile, I think property taxes are among the lowest in the country, which benefits the longtime homeowner.

In California? Webmasta’, please! Yes, I know for some old Prop-13 properties, but where I live, in a good neighborhood, it’s under $1 /sq-ft yearly.

    REASONS

Crack cocaine went out of style. With no demand for it, there is less reason to join a gang because drug sales are the economy that gangs stand on. Less blacks smoke crack now. It declined in popularity because of its deleterious effects and there was no longer an underground economy to prop up gangs.

Koreans no longer own stores in the black ghetto. This was a huge source of conflict but the LA riots came and they were burned out. The businesses became black owned.

Hispanics took over black neighborhoods anyhow. They simply overran them.

Whites moved out of Los Angeles to such a degree that there was NOBODY TO ROB OR RAPE.

  198. Ron Unz says:

California was a Paradise 50 years ago, and not just the town in the Sierras.

Sure, I’d agree that CA was pretty much a true American paradise in the 1950s and early 1960s.

But after that, there were the Watts Riots, the huge wave of Zebra killings in SF and elsewhere, the Mansons, extremely high urban crime rates, the LA Riots, and all the bitter racial turmoil of the 1990s.

Also, don’t forget the economic collapse of the early 1990s and the Housing Meltdown of the late 2000s, along with the enormous state budget deficits.

Although these other problems have disappeared and things are pretty quiet and peaceful these days, I’m certainly not claiming we’ve returned to the paradise conditions of the early 1960s. I think the biggest reason is that the population has more than doubled since then, so things are much more crowded, housing is much more expensive, and worker wages are much lower. Most of that population growth has obviously been driven by immigration, and that’s been the biggest negative of immigration.

But just think of what CA was like in 1968 or 1994. Wouldn’t you agree things are much more peaceful these days?

  199. @Ron Unz

    HISPANIC IMMIGRATION CAUSE/EFFECT

Hispanic gangs have more or less driven the black ones out. The days of non-stop tribal warfare in COLORS-era is gone because cartels back Mexican gangs. Crips and Bloods cannot match their money or firepower.

Nobody smokes crack anymore anyhow and the blacks and Hispanics never got into white-collar crime like Italians eventually did. There was nothing they could do but steal cars and sell drugs.

Whites can get their fix from their doctor and he doesn’t do drive by shootings.

There are so many Hispanics that blacks are just getting driven out of LA. Oakies and lower class whites in my experience were either driven out or intermarried with Hispanics-a Mestizo group to begin with.

Up North the tech millionaires have driven out the Ben & Jerry types.

    a) in those two big cities, LA and San Fran. (bay area) where most of the acute violence occurred.
    b) but more peaceful only to a certain extent. Everyday life is much more stressful. When your neighbors are of all different “tribes”, lots of the trust is gone, and it’s no idyllic life that a middle class life was close to in the 50′s through 70′s – maybe into the 80′s.

My friend, the issue here is that you just don’t get it. Get out of your own feelings for a second and just answer this question:

What if the proliferation of “feminists” upon which you are so concerned, had a deeper meaning. What if the “feminists”, who are so influential on the lives, feelings, and personalities of everyday women, were in fact, not women. Would that change things in this world, just a smidge? Would that give this “problem” just the slightest little new wrinkle?

You see, my friend, and I tried to explain this above; the “tranny” thing is not a small problem. The “tranny” thing is the most significant issue we face in the world today, everything flows off of it. This is because, in a nutshell, the occultist who run this world (read: everyone above a certain level of money, fame or influence) are trying to take man back to what they believe is his natural state; male and female intertwined into one sex in the same body. This is a 5,000 year agenda and the main method of propagation is through television.

Not only is what I wrote true, but your superiors (not mine, I don’t have any) no longer have any great interest in keeping it secret. They give you the truth, at this point in life, through jokes and riddles, but in a few years it will be sheer transparency:

So back to Schopenhauer for a second, Old Sport; in 5 years when someone tells you “Hey Juice, did you know that Megan Kelly was born a man?!?”

You will look at him with a certain sang froid in your eyes and respond “well of course, everyone knows that…”

The way I see it, you may as well just get a head-start on the other mouth-breathers now…

There is only one solution whether the woman has a face of white, brown, yellow, red or black. Get the medical records to ensure she had a womb and ovaries at birth.

One of my favorite hollywood movie lines,

    “I am free, white and over 21, I can . . . ”

used up til the 1940′s, as a running commentary in movies. Which might introduce why the issue of black facing eventually went out of fashion. The majority of whites actually thought the caricatures of “black face” was representative of black people. it simply was a false narrative to the whole not even a inch close to the majority.

With the notable exception of the Mansons, all those examples predominately involve Blacks. I think your contention has always been that Whites, Hispanics, and Asians get along fairly well. The NonBlack-Black racial divide is the main ethnic fault line in today’s America.

You also seem to believe that in addition to Blacks, certain groups (Jews, Indian Subcontinentals, and Muslims) don’t blend well into mainstream society and cause a high degree of agitation. This is due to these groups possessing clannish and ethnocentric cultural characteristics, as well as being verbally/socially aggressive. While some of these groups (particularly Jews) are low-crime and capable of succeeding economically, they’re very adept at utilizing clan strategems to secure lucrative economic and social niches.

At least that’s my understanding of your views. I could be wrong.

But just think of what CA was like in 1968 or 1994. Wouldn’t you agree things are much more peaceful these days?

Yes. However, outside the large cities, much of suburban California (especially Orange County, San Diego County, and Santa Barbara County) was very idyllic up through the late 80s, maybe early 90s. Back 25 years ago, if you wanted to live the lifestyle described in a Beach Boys video, you could do that in much of suburban SoCal, especially in the coastal areas.

You really can’t do that anymore. The place is far too competitive, expensive, and crowded. Mostly due to immigrants.

There’s also no longer any type of common California “surfer dude” culture, again mostly due to immigrants. A place like Orange County, which was the epicenter of “surfer dude” culture, is culturally very distictive from how it used to be, mostly due to the presence of large numbers of Hispanics and Asians.

I think Steve Sailer has written about how he’s nostalgic for the 1950s-1980s California culture described in the Beach Boys songs. He believes this California has been transformed dramatically by foreign immigrants with foreign cultures.

Not all the changes are uniformly negative. For example, real estate is much more expensive, but that’s allowed many White Californians to make huge profits on their old homes and retire in aflluence. Hispanics might’ve lowered blue-collar wages, but that’s allowed many SoCal real estate developers to become wealthy and build huge homes in Newport Beach. Asians may have “ruined” California’s party schools (like USC and UCSB), but that’s made these places much more academically credible and FAR less out of control.

I think one reason White Californians allowed these changes is because while many lost, many gained too. Those who gained were disproportionately the sort who vote, donate to politicians, and participate in political debates. Those who lost were the type who never really were that politically engaged to begin with, which is why nobody cared much about them.

If you go to a Republican party fundraise in Laguna Beach, it’ll be full of real estate developers and construction contractors. There likely won’t be any blue collar Okie tradesmen. So perhaps not surprisingly, when immigration comes up in places like this, Hispanic migrants get praised for their strong work ethic and economic importance. The politicians get pressured to increase migration and bring in even more foreign workers.

I think the main point to take aways is this. Asians and Hispanics might be okay enough citizens, but they’ve economically and culturally changed Steve Sailer’s California in ways that he finds uncongenial. He no longer recognizes his homeland.

This is the reason my friends are marrying Asian ladies. In the US, although women are slutty, yet whine when they are touched, are you kidding me? I once read here in UNZ, that if you are liked by those women, then is flirting, if they don’t like you, its harassment or worst. So, American males, stop making American women slots, and whores. I know, they way the carry themselves its hard to not consider them so. What will take for American women to understand that they are the culprits of their own demise as potential brides? Why are males getting old, and women getting old without a proper mate? something to ponder…

I’d agree with quite a lot of this analysis.

But I really do think that the overwhelming majority of immigrants, certainly including Hispanics and Asians, are quite assimilative, and their CA-born children usually grow up just like any other Californian.

For example, when I drive I usually listen to a local soft-rock radio station, mostly playing popular songs from the 1960s-1990s, and of the half-dozen announcers, two of the most prominent are Hispanic. Except for their names, I doubt anyone would aware of that, certainly not from their accents, their song discussions, or the subjects of their chatter. They describe a Beach Boys song they’re about to play just the same way anyone else of their generation probably would.

I’d argue that the main reason the old California suburban lifestyle has been lost is due to the doubling of the population, and also the sharp decline in the traditional middle-class standard of living, which is closely connected. And obviously, heavy immigration has been a large factor in these things. But if the immigrants had all been from Europe or even whites from other states, I really think pretty much the same things would have happened.

Here’s something to consider. From what I remember, CA whites voted for Trump at a rate something like 20-25 points lower than whites in the rest of the country, presumably because the things he was complaining about didn’t really make any sense to them. If whites nationwide had voted the same way, Trump would have lost all 50 states in huge landslides, and suffered by far the most crushing defeat in all American history, with the MSM laughing and saying “We told you so!”

Obviously, things aren’t perfect in CA, but unlike many other parts of the country, things are actually reasonably good, and the voters aren’t in an angry or radical mood. That situation was very, very different back in 1968 or 1994 or just after the Housing Meltdown.

  212. @Ron Unz

Instead of comparing the progress from the 70′s through today, another perspective would be to look at what things could have been had California stayed majority White (or White/Asian). The White population of CA has remained pretty stable while the Mexican population has increased exponentially to become slightly larger.

Whites are far more productive than Mexicans and are less reliant on government assistance. There’s also the abysmal academic performance of Mexicans. So even if we accept your argument that (correcting for age and sex) Mexicans are not more violent than Whites, Mexicans are still a net negative by every other measure: government deficits; academic performance; economic productivity etc.

Yes, in spite of Mexicans some things have gotten a little better in California. But what would the state be without them? What would a White/Asian (“Ice People”) California look like? A lot better, I imagine.

There’s also the matter of housing. You restrict the construction of new housing and let in 10-13 million Mexicans? Basic economics tell you that’s a bad idea.

On a personal note, I live in a Chinese neighborhood in San Francisco proper and work downtown. My stop here is just temporary, and I’ll be gone in a year or two. That said, living here is like living in a foreign country. I never thought I’d be homesick for America while living in a large American city. Imagine if California was still American!

  213. “But how did we get here? What or who has been driving this dreadful development?”

    – I blame it on the Jews.

  214. @JohnnyWalker123

    “Verbally/socially aggressive”

Tell a Brahmin to f*ck off and he will. Indians are the veritable definition of blow-hard but will almost never attack a white physically. They are devious and cunning, but governed by the Hindu belief system.

I’m not afraid of Indian teenagers in a group in California. When they or Jews form gangs capable of harming people physically, I’ll be surprised.

    “Asians have ruined party schools”

Back East in college, Beserkly and UCLA had horrendous reputations for hard drug use and general nuttiness in the 90′s. Does anyone remember Andrew walking around with no clothes on?

“Use clan strategies to secure economic niches”

Undoubtedly. But they are not physically dangerous, barring the odd film producer who goes to far with his casting couch bit. And I am not afraid of Harvey Weinstein on the street.

This is all null and void anyhow because the Hispanics arrived in such vast numbers.

‘… Meanwhile, I think property taxes are among the lowest in the country, which benefits the longtime homeowner…’

That depends how you look at it. Aa a percentage of valuation, California property taxes might be low, but then the values are so high…

The fact is, you pay a lot more and get a lot less. We were paying $4000 a year for our 800 square foot house in Richmond, a perennial Bay Area homicide leader with an unusable public school system.

Now we’re in Southern Oregon, in a town of 20,000 people which had no homicides last year and in which I’d have no hesitation about sending my daughter to the public schools. Our house is 1600 square feet, and I just wrote out the check for our property tax: $1600.

Now, of course we sold up in California for $700,000 and bought here for $187,500 — but as far as I can see, I’m paying less than half as much in property tax for about four times as much in house.
