WBZ Archives: WBZ-TV’s Very First Broadcast
On this day in 1948, WBZ-TV became New England’s first TV stations. The very first messages ever broadcast were greetings from Mayor James Michael Curley, Cardinal Cushing, and Rabbi Joshua Loth Liebman, followed by our inaugural newscast.

WBZ Archives: Tony Conigliaro Night at Fenway ParkOn this day in 1983, the Red Sox held Tony C Night. The 1967 “Impossible Dream” Red Sox team reunited on the field. In 1982, seven years after ending his baseball career, Tony suffered a heart attack and stroke. He remained in a coma until he died in 1990.
