Introduction
Since 1994 every second year the Research and Education in Aircraft Design (READ) conference has been organized as a general forum for exchange of information about progress in aerospace engineering research. The unique character of the seminar is given by its focus also on aircraft engineering education and inclusion of juried student session. Following the success of the READ 2016, Warsaw, the 2018 seminar will be held in Brno, Czech Republic.
The Organizing Committee invites authors to contribute to the conference on the following topics:

The European Workshop on Aircraft Design Education (EWADE) has been organized since 1994 as a forum for academic staff active in the aircraft design education at European universities.
In 2018, the READ and EWADE will be connected together hosted by Institute of Engineering, Brno University of Technology.

Abstract submission

Abstract must be written in English containing minimum of 250 words and maximum 500 words. It must sufficiently describe the purpose of the paper, main objectives and obtained/expected results.
The selection of paper to be presented at the conference will be made on the basis of the submitted abstract. Attention will be paid to the relevance of the work and clarity of the abstract. Authors will be informed about the acceptance of the work for presentation at the conference. The authors of accepted papers, who are willing to publish their work either in the conference proceedings or in the journal “Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology” (AEAT), must submit the final paper before the deadline for full paper submission.
During the submission, the authors have an option to choose the type of publication:
- presentation only.
- presentation and publication in a conference proceeding. The proceedings will be published in digital library of the Brno University of Technology and submitted for the indexing in the Web of Science.
- presentation and publication in the journal Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology (AEAT).
Abstract submission deadline is 22nd April 2018.

Full paper submission
Submission to the conference proceedings
The paper must be prepared according to layout instructions given here read2018_instructions_for_authors. The Word template file can be found here (blank document with formatting styles).
The key rules are following:
1. The paper should not exceed 10 printed pages.
2. The maximum size of the paper is 10 MB, papers must be submitted in PDF.
3. The final paper must be named: READ-2018-num.pdf. The “num” is two digit number received during abstract submission.
4. Full paper should be sent no later than 15th July 2018 via the EasyChair conference system – use button Add file under your submission.
Paper review process
The papers will be subjected to the double review process. The result of the review will not affect the opportunity to present the paper to the conference audience. However, the reviewer’s comments must be addressed to accept the paper in the conference proceedings.
