I used to run a BBS when I was 14, cannot for the life of me remember what software it ran. What I do remember is it was only up for 4 hours a day, 8pm to midnight, as I wasn't allowed to tie up the phone line for too long :D
-
I lost backups of my BBS over the years. I do wish it was something that I didn't loose a number of times due to bad zipdisks.

Ran QuickBBS from 1991-1993 or so, then switched to RemoteAccess from 1993-1999. It was the largest free-access BBS in the Phoenix metro area, with over 4GB of files in 1993.

I ran a ProBoard BBS for a few years. Fidonet and BRE addict. Some formative stuff going on back then. Check out http://www.bbsdocumentary.com/ if you haven't already.pic.twitter.com/qxloqwhY5n

That brings back some serious memories... mine ran on "FirstClass", and I remember when we actually managed to upgrade to 9 phone lines (that was no small feat). Good times :)

Trying to write a FOSSIL door game for my OBV/2 BBS was one of my earliest programming project adventures, I was 13.

I grew up in Vancouver and I had to ask my parents if it was OK to make a long distance call to Portland bbss about 10 miles away. It was a different time.

Holy crap, now I want to see if I can get that ESDI drive out in my garage running so I could grab all that old code. (tries to think if there's a junker in the parts closet that can use the ISA card for the drive)

I used to run a Wildcat BBS for the company I worked for so we could have a single source of truth for the hundred of EEPROM images we used to use. Quite a few modems stuck in a rack too.
