The Establishment and Realist foreign policy communities in the United States often seem separated by language which leads them to talk past each other. When a realist or Libertarian talks about non-intervention or restraint in foreign policy, as Ron Paul did in 2008 and 2012, the Establishment response is to denounce isolationism. As Dr. Paul...

Ah, "police work" with one's own civilians centered on experience with pistols and rifles.

That is part of the problem not the solution, and the proper firearms training for police officers does not require military service, period. In fact, it is likely a negative.

The only "military" training that translates readily into some aspects of domestic police work is service in the Military Police.

Gee, all those accountants in the FBI just never properly learned to shoot--who would have guessed?

Once again a vacuous and conventional mindset.

    Tell it E.A.

Too many are too ready to go with the crap. some that come back from the holocausts are ready to keep on killing… when they get a chance!

Just remember that when the officer tells you to do this or that, he/she, may very well have been veteran, and when they told people/ to do this or that… broke in a door, and marched em out…they didn’t better not do it… ! Free fire zones etc. no problem, good way to get your creds, in wet work… now you go take care of ‘em… Good pay &bene’s.

and, so probably you better comply…

They are ready to give you a shot, they have been schooled, indocrinated, and tested, with real poor f’n peasants, like us… we are not all just on a same playin’ field anymore…

  • The world according to Trump,

*Countries like Philippines are running towards Russia/China cuz we’r weak !

*Obama the wimp, his weak and ineffective foreign policy allows
everybody to run all over us*
    [sic]

    Therefore…..
    * “I will rebuild our military. It will be so strong, and so powerful, and so great. It will be so powerful and so great that we’ll never have to use it. Nobody’s going to mess with us, folks. Nobody.”,

    In short,
Here’s the ‘Great White Hoax’ to the Trumpsters…
*Our military is a joke, Obama is a wimp.
You need a strong leader, we’ve to arm ourself up to our eyeballs so that those
damned Grenadians, Panama’s, Chagosians, Iraqis, Chileans….Chinese, Russians would think twice about messing with us again* !!

If Obomber is weak, wait till you see the Great White Shark

    hhhhhhhhh

VA. STATE SENATOR RICHARD BLACK OPTIMISTIC
THAT U.S. WAR POLICY WILL BE REINED IN UNDER TRUMP

Which means we must rally behind P.E. Trump's better tendencies. Two ways to do that:
    1) Support Tulsi Gabbard's "STOP ARMING TERRORISTS" bill-
    .........a) sign her petition
.........b) urge your Representative to co-sponsor
    2) Promote honest journalism

Gabbard’s Law: To End War on Terror, Stop Arming Terrorists

"Gabbard models her bill on 1980s Boland Amendment that halted U.S. aid to the U.S. Contra terrorists, in Nicaragua. She was joined by two Republican and two Democratic co-sponsors, including Black California congresswoman Barbara Lee."

In case you missed it, they already run the whole shebang. Who else do you think created the current predicament?

..and if he don't, will the American people rise up to put a stop to it, or will they, as I suspect, dutifully go along with the deception because a "conservative Republican" is once again in charge of making America great again by kicking everyone's ass?

Do you really think any of us who voted for Trump did it thinking he is a “conservative Republican”? Why don’t you put down the lying LSM koolaid you have been drinking and pay a bit of attention to the real issues that we voted for? And if you want to know what Trump is planning on doing you might go and rad his position papers on his campaign website or even his book, “Crippled America” and he will tell you exactly what he wants to do.

The absence of employment and educational opportunities in most areas of the country, accompanied by "patriotic" government propaganda tailored for the ignorant, has more to do with it than anything else.

This is at the absolute heart of the issue. In truth, a metropolis with an economic surplus and therefore bent on expansion and adventurism has since the dawn of civilisation provided supplementary employment, resulting in farmer-soldiers. Think Rome; it continues to this day with greater access to consumer goods where that economic surplus is extracted and directed via production in low-wage nations.

Related: if you haven’t seen Trump advisor Peter Navarro’s documentary “Death By China: How America Lost Its Manufacturing Base” I highly recommend watching the first 30 mins to understand Trump’s “mandate” wrt China

"they recruit in poor areas in the south"

Not just the South, though the South has always been an important recruiting area.

Here in the patriotic South, the worship of all things military, share equal honors with God, Grandma and Apple Pie.

The interrelations of all these factors have long been studied by Unitedstatesian Capitalists.

For example--why is the driving age in most of the United States 16 years of age? This has nothing to do with farm kids operating farm machinery, which they are allowed to do in farming states at even earlier ages, including, with restrictions, on public roads.

Rather it is because the automobile companies realize that with their enlistment bonus at 17 the enlistees will rush out and buy new automobiles. Which most of them do.

A very large number of returning veterans become instant “donor cyclist” after purchasing high powered, Japanese made motorcycles on which they promptly kill themselves.

They don't. We elected Trump to put an end to this military adventurism.

..and if he don’t, will the American people rise up to put a stop to it, or will they, as I suspect, dutifully go along with the deception because a “conservative Republican” is once again in charge of making America great again by kicking everyone’s ass?

Do you really think any of us who voted for Trump did it thinking he is a “conservative Republican”? Why don't you put down the lying LSM koolaid you have been drinking and pay a bit of attention to the real issues that we voted for? And if you want to know what Trump is planning on doing you might go and rad his position papers on his campaign website or even his book, "Crippled America" and he will tell you exactly what he wants to do.

Justin Raimondo has an excellent piece on Trump's appointment of ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson as SoS.

    Here's an excerpt:

Contrary to the brainless leftist narrative that characterizes Big Oil as the driving force behind the War Party – remember “No Blood for Oil!”? – the reality is that the oil industry, including Exxon, opposed the Iraq war, just as they opposed the economic sanctions that preceded it. Iran sanctions are equally unpopular with the oil industry, and, as a New Yorker profile of Tillerson put it: “In general, Tillerson and ExxonMobil have argued against economic sanctions as an instrument of American foreign policy.”

True enough, campus parking lots all over the country are filled with the latest models, most which are usually owned by students.

But you know who bought them, don't you?

Sixteen year olds on their own, with some exceptions, buy used cars.

"Tinfoil hat" is dated, by the way and a dead giveway both of your conventional and vacuous mindset and the worthlessness of your comment.

I thought you were serious, and not without reason. Credit standards for auto purchases, new and used, are low because there’s something to repossess and you don’t have to enter someone’s home, or go to court, to repossess it. In the service, it’s commonly known that some soldiers use their enlistment bonuses to make down payments on new cars soon after they enter the service. BTW, those bonuses, paid to very young folks, can be quite large, depending on the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) and the demand for that specialty.

As for non-military high school graduates, many of whom go to college, often when a kid gets a car as a graduation gift, it really means the down payment was made by Dad and Mom. The kid may get some help making the payments, just as they get help with other things. These are usually new cars

It was in Vietnam that the present use of the US infantry (Army mainly and occasionally Marines) was developed. In a word, bait.

Send them or drop them somewhere and wait till the shooting starts, then bring in air.

D-Day, by the way, was an amphibious (Churchill's word) landing and a BATTLE and did not win World WAR II.

Why not discuss the "force multipliers" at Market Garden, jeje?

The US military is a good job, with some exceptions. As always, the infantry sucks, and especially so in war.

Current casualties and fatalities are low, and have been since the 'surge' in both Iran and Afghanistan.

Most enlisted service men have technical or logistical types of work assignments.

The only people fighting now are special forces or elite troops, who are emotionally suited for the work. They don't just sign a piece of paper -- they go through a rigorous selection process. At the moment, I imagine that the current fighting is done by contract special forces, who know exactly what they are doing.

This has no bearing on the foolishness of the Neo Con agenda. Nor their zombie like persistence.

“The only people fighting now are special forces or elite troops, who are emotionally suited for the work.”

This is a gross exaggeration. Non-elite infantry fight, also increasingly MPs because more troops are needed. Truck drivers are ambushed on the roads and return fire. Mechanics are reassigned as drivers because (A) More drivers are needed. (B) Mechanics are trained to drive the trucks they fix. (C) Our still Cold War based force structure, when the GWOT started, included large numbers of mechanics to fix battle damaged trucks and tanks in a classic WWII style clash of NATO and Russian arms in Germany.

Tribalism and Worldism is like Oil and Water. Dangerous Mix.

Tribalism is good for the Tribe or for the nation.

Worldism is good if all nations agree to common standards on basis of mutuality and respect.

But when Tribalism and Worldism mix, we have hell on earth.

It's like when oil meets water.

    https://youtu.be/PbgdRR4yj8Y?t=1m6s

It's like Japan and Germany in the late 30s and 40s.

Japanese being tribal in Japan was fine. Germans being nationalist in Germany was fine.

But both nations decided to go for empire. The problem was that was natural in Japan was not natural in other nations. Japanese naturally dominate in Japan, their homeland. But when Japanese try to rule over others on the basis of Japanese interests, others will hate it, and Japanese will have to crush them.
And Germans had the same big problem as their empire expanded. It went from National Socialism to Imperial Supremacism.

This is why the British were more adept at running empires. The British Empire also had the contradiction as it was Brits ruling over non-Brits. But Brits understood this problem and allowed locals to keep much of their autonomy. Much of the rule was indirect and tolerant. And this allowed the British to maintain their empire for a long time, and there are plenty of former subjects who still have fond memories.

Today, Globalism is crazy because Jewish Oligarchs and Agents around the world are like Oil and Water. It's a mix of Jewish Tribalism and Jewish Worldism. On the one hand, Jews who rule America would have us believe that they are more like the British Imperialists than the German/Japanese in WWII. Zionist-led America is about Tolerance, Diversity, Respect, Human Rights, Rule of Law, and etc. US doesn't seek domination but only mutually beneficial relations with other nations.

But when we see the total destruction of much of the Middle East and the maniacal hate-fest against Russia, it's undeniable that the main animating factor behind Jewish Worldism is Jewish Tribalism. Jewish elites will sacrifice everything for Jewish Power and Domination, even if it means possible war with Russia and destruction of so many lives.

This is crazy but also understandable because no World Power has been as mighty and as fragile as that of Jews. The US is by far the only superpower, and Jews run it. And Jews have powerful elites all over, even in Russia where many oligarchs and elites are still Jewish. So, no people have been as powerful as the Jews.
But except in Israel -- and even Israel depends on US support -- , Jewish Power is really built on sand because they don't have demographic power. It's like the British Empire. No matter how powerful the Brits were around the world, when confronted with the rise of People Power in their imperial domains, they got kicked out in the end. Even in Hong Kong. The Anglos only remained in power in nations where they became the majority, but then, having taken the poison-advice of Jews, they are even giving away this advantage in places like Canada and Australia that are surrendering to Chinese, Hindus, Arabs, and Africans.

No people have been so powerful as the Jews, but no powerful people have felt as vulnerable as the Jews. This is, of course, why Jews love diversity in gentile nations. Fearing the eventual unity of gentile masses against the Jewish elites, the only bet for Jewish domination is something like the Austro-Hungarian Empire, a diverse empire where Jews felt safer despite widespread anti-Jewish sentiments because the various gentiles distrusted one another as much as they distrusted Jews. When Austrians and Czechs could hardly get along, they had little time to unite against Jews.

Anyway, the world is in trouble because the oil of Jewish tribalism keeps mixing with the water of Jewish worldism. Even a a-hole like Netanyahu is no big trouble if he sticks to Israel's business. But the jerk and his operatives in the US deviously translate what are clearly narrow Jewish/Zionist reason for anti-Iran-ism into bogus World Issues when, in fact, Iran has no problem with other nations except with proxy whores like Saudi Arabia.

“But Brits understood this problem and allowed locals to keep much of their autonomy.”

George Washington and Eamon De Valera (and many others) begged to differ.

“Rather it is because the automobile companies realize that with their enlistment bonus at 17 the enlistees will rush out and buy new automobiles.”

This wins the tin foil hat award. The percentage of kids who enlist is very low. The auto companies are marketing to all young drivers, not just soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, and Coasties.

Did you read the part that says NEW cars?

How many seventeen year olds get enlistment bonuses and buy new cars?

True enough, campus parking lots all over the country are filled with the latest models, most which are usually owned by students.

But you know who bought them, don't you?

Sixteen year olds on their own, with some exceptions, buy used cars.

"Tinfoil hat" is dated, by the way and a dead giveway both of your conventional and vacuous mindset and the worthlessness of your comment.
    ReplyAgree/Disagree/Etc.
  • @E. A. Costa
"How do they keep getting the kids to sign up for this nonsense?"

    No jobs and unemployment.

Vermont is a good example, lair of the pseudo-Socialist Señor Sanders.

You know what the employment office is for non-college bound males just out of high school: the Army and other military recruiting centers.

This was, by the way, all planned out some years ago. In fact a Neo-Con under Bush, whose name one does not recall, suggested that the "recession" would solve all recruiting problems.

    Which it has.

The vast majority of enlistees, when asked why they enlisted, according to many studies, answer: they were no other jobs.

This is a prelude to the realization of the quotation attributed to Jay Gould, "I will hire one half of the working class to kill the other half."

For when they return what is the veterans' main employment office? You got it federal, state, and local police.

Having militarized the police and policified the military, the whole of both cultures has changed radically, with US "civilians" being treated very much like "civilians" in, say, Iraq.

This process started with Vietnam, but in the last twenty years it has gone ballistic with the installation of a "professional" (i.e. semi-mercenary) military.

There are simple solutions to this--separating the military and police as careers--but they will never be implemented because this is exactly what the Neo-Cons and one percent want.

The former need endless economically motivated recruits to fight their planned hundred years of war. The latter realize they need extensive and ferocious military and police protection against the possibility that the ninety-nine percent may wake up and revolt.

    Suckers!

I oppose the militarization of the police and the proliferation of heavy weaponry in police departments. That having been said, it’s helpful to have a reasonable proportion of recruits already knowing the basics of rifle marksmanship before they begin learning pistol marksmanship at the Police Academy.

  • Justin Raimondo has an excellent piece on Trump’s appointment of ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson as SoS.

    Here’s an excerpt:

Contrary to the brainless leftist narrative that characterizes Big Oil as the driving force behind the War Party – remember “No Blood for Oil!”? – the reality is that the oil industry, including Exxon, opposed the Iraq war, just as they opposed the economic sanctions that preceded it. Iran sanctions are equally unpopular with the oil industry, and, as a New Yorker profile of Tillerson put it: “In general, Tillerson and ExxonMobil have argued against economic sanctions as an instrument of American foreign policy.”

    Poverty of spirit.

I'm reminded of Jessica Lynch. She grew up in poor West Virginia and joined the Army because there was nothing else, and it afforded her an opportunity for a college education and a brighter future. Not expecting to go to war, it was nevertheless in the cards, and then when tragedy struck, the Fiend decided that she would be a perfect pawn to sell their war with.

When they spun their lies about her heroics, all she had to do was go along with it all, and stardom and fame and fortune would have dropped in her lap. But she refused to go along with the lies, regardless of what must have been massive amounts of pressure and glittering bribes, and told the simple truth, and returned to her simple life.

I don't know about all the people who join the military, but her story is consistent with the values and integrity of the mostly poor young people I know who join because their local economies have been wiped out due to the 'in' and outsourcing of the scumfucks at the top who also contrive these myriad wars for fun and profit and Israel.

There is no poverty of spirit in that young American girl, and many more like her.

“Three days before the U.S. raid, Lynch had regained enough strength that the team was ready to proceed with orthopaedic surgery on her left leg. The procedure involved cutting through muscle to install a platinum plate to both ends of the compound fracture. “We only had three platinum plates left in our supply and at least 100 Iraqis were in need,” Raazk said. “But we gave one to Jessica.”

A second surgery, and a second platinum plate, was scheduled for Lynch’s fractured arm. But U.S. forces removed her before it took place, Raazk said.”

    https://www.thestar.com/news/world/2013/04/26/saving_private_jessica_lynch_10_years_later.html

Media were not telling us for whom the Iraq war was waged. But just before it started Columbia with Israeli astronaut exploded over Palestine, TX. And just before the war ended Jessica Lynch who was from Palestine, WV was was manufactured to become American heroine. Somehow the reality conspired to penetrate the media silence on the connection of the war in Iraq to Israel. Perhaps Carl Jung could comment on this.

"That Syria will be fixed by coming in with force majeure on the side of what is being promoted as a progressive and humanitarian alternative to Bashar al-Assad borders on the ridiculous, but it is characteristic of the default position that many in Washington adopt when considering how to solve the problems in the Middle East."

There is something particularly bizarre about the report. I suggest trying to read through the detail, to the extent that it isn't too painfully longwinded and disturbing.

It is hard to see anything, in principle, wrong with the desires expressed in the document. Not surprisingly, this is simply a restatement of the same fantasies embraced by the same people for the last 30 years.

“They smiled at the good, and frowned at the bad, and sometimes they were very sad.”

I don't see a single difference between this and the US involvement in Iraq. Iraq is "proof of failure of concept." What would motivate development of a document like this?

The report was initially intended to serve as a bipartisan rebuke to the current Barack Obama policy which limits direct American involvement in the conflict.

It seems odd that the Obama administration is winding up with the collapse of Aleppo and the battle to retake Mosul. Humanitarian disasters, which needs to be recognized as a unpreventable possibility during war.

It's hard to find people (except for John Bolton) that seriously defend the US invasion of Iraq. Nobel Peace Price recipient Obama attempted a 'regime change lite' continuation of the same set of policies. And felt the need to backfill his attempt to disengage with special forces and bombing.

The report continually advances this 'priority' :

    Prioritize Civilian Protection.
For both humanitarian and strategic reasons, alleviating the human suffering in the Middle East should be the immediate priority.
    And
Enforce existing international norms and laws regarding civilian aid and protection in war

The last war that the United States 'Won' -- the so called 'Good War' ... involved rapid disregard for international norms regarding civilian protection. It was rapidly replaced by massive strategic bombing campaigns. And finished by firebombing of German and Japanese cities.

They were very helpful on D-Day. Neither Special Ops, nor air power, nor artillery, nor armor, nor naval gunfire can or are meant to win the war by themselves. They are force multipliers, and force multipliers are invaluable.

What are they teaching people in church these days...assuming people go to church and don't have their headphones on during the sermon.

Yeah - I don't think this is what was meant by; "Blessed are the poor in spirit..."

The US military is a good job, with some exceptions. As always, the infantry sucks, and especially so in war.

Current casualties and fatalities are low, and have been since the ‘surge’ in both Iran and Afghanistan.

Most enlisted service men have technical or logistical types of work assignments.

The only people fighting now are special forces or elite troops, who are emotionally suited for the work. They don’t just sign a piece of paper — they go through a rigorous selection process. At the moment, I imagine that the current fighting is done by contract special forces, who know exactly what they are doing.

This has no bearing on the foolishness of the Neo Con agenda. Nor their zombie like persistence.

And there is no "crushing hopeless poverty" in the US either, but many grubers believe there is because that is what is drilled into their empty heads in school and from the fake news of the lying LSM. It is also why many of the same useful idiots think the planet needs saving and global warming is real.

No one is walking around with distended bellies from starvation or lack of medical care which is available for free to anyone who can't afford it. Minds detached from an external world must be strange creatures...

    -G. C. Lichtneberg, The Waste Books, 1799 (Notebook A, aphorism 27)

The interrelations of all these factors have long been studied by Unitedstatesian Capitalists.

For example–why is the driving age in most of the United States 16 years of age? This has nothing to do with farm kids operating farm machinery, which they are allowed to do in farming states at even earlier ages, including, with restrictions, on public roads.

“How do they keep getting the kids to sign up for this nonsense?”

    No jobs and unemployment.

Vermont is a good example, lair of the pseudo-Socialist Señor Sanders.

You know what the employment office is for non-college bound males just out of high school: the Army and other military recruiting centers.

This was, by the way, all planned out some years ago. In fact a Neo-Con under Bush, whose name one does not recall, suggested that the “recession” would solve all recruiting problems.

    Which it has.

The vast majority of enlistees, when asked why they enlisted, according to many studies, answer: they were no other jobs.

This is a prelude to the realization of the quotation attributed to Jay Gould, “I will hire one half of the working class to kill the other half.”

For when they return what is the veterans’ main employment office? You got it federal, state, and local police.

Having militarized the police and policified the military, the whole of both cultures has changed radically, with US “civilians” being treated very much like “civilians” in, say, Iraq.

This process started with Vietnam, but in the last twenty years it has gone ballistic with the installation of a “professional” (i.e. semi-mercenary) military.

There are simple solutions to this–separating the military and police as careers–but they will never be implemented because this is exactly what the Neo-Cons and one percent want.

The former need endless economically motivated recruits to fight their planned hundred years of war. The latter realize they need extensive and ferocious military and police protection against the possibility that the ninety-nine percent may wake up and revolt.

I oppose the militarization of the police and the proliferation of heavy weaponry in police departments. That having been said, it's helpful to have a reasonable proportion of recruits already knowing the basics of rifle marksmanship before they begin learning pistol marksmanship at the Police Academy.

  • “That Syria will be fixed by coming in with force majeure on the side of what is being promoted as a progressive and humanitarian alternative to Bashar al-Assad borders on the ridiculous, but it is characteristic of the default position that many in Washington adopt when considering how to solve the problems in the Middle East.”

Divide, Conquer & Rule is “Israel’s” agenda to land grab a “greater Israel”. Its co-religionists and accomplices in Washington (such as John McCain) appear to make many “mistakes” in judgement that nevertheless move “Israel” closer to its objectives in the Middle East and beyond.

It is also why many of the same useful idiots think the planet needs saving and global warming is real.

As for US poverty, the average poor family in the US owns their own home, two cars, three televisions and every family member has a cell phone. No one is walking around with distended bellies from starvation or lack of medical care which is available for free to anyone who can’t afford it. Pure, unadulterated, mendacious bullshit.

As a matter of fact, the banks and credit companies own most Unitedstatesians' "homes", cars, and the rest, even among the "middle class".

Indeed, the myth of US home ownership is one of the oldest and most fraudulent of the claims of US "wealth".

The amusing part is that with Bush so much of the US "middle class", who supported him, simply diasppeared.

If you want to be "exceptional" get out of everywhere and shut down the manufacture of all armaments.

Train the stupid people in your country to fantasise over something other than slaughtering large numbers of their fellow human beings.

No one is going to attack you, you idiots. You can destroy the entire earth multiple times over and we all know that.

Many of us amerikans agree with most of your sentiments as do I. But we must provide for our defense so no longer manufacturing arms is not going to happen, even for those of us like me who do not want our country to be the policeman of the world. It is one of the reasons we elected Trump.

I’m reminded of Jessica Lynch.

I don’t know about all the people who join the military, but her story is consistent with the values and integrity of the mostly poor young people I know who join because their local economies have been wiped out due to the ‘in’ and outsourcing of the scumfucks at the top who also contrive these myriad wars for fun and profit and Israel.

But U.S. forces removed her before it took place, Raazk said."

Somehow the reality conspired to penetrate the media silence on the connection of the war in Iraq to Israel. Perhaps Carl Jung could comment on this.

  • Sounds like an updating of a 1982 Israeli plan to make the ME subservient to Israel.

Is the US Waging Israel’s Wars? by Linda S. Heard

Read the following strangely prophetic segment from an article published in 1982 by the World Zionist Organisation’s publication Kivunim and penned by Oded Yinon, an Israeli journalist with links to the Israeli Foreign Ministry.

Yinon’s strategy was based on this premise. In order to survive Israel must become an imperial regional power and must also ensure the break-up of all Arab countries so that the region may be carved up into small ineffectual states unequipped to stand up to Israeli military might. Here’s what he had to say on Iraq:

“The dissolution of Syria and Iraq into ethnically or religiously unique areas such as in Lebanon is Israel’s primary target on the Eastern frontIraq, rich in oil on the one hand and internally torn on the other is guaranteed as a candidate for Israel’s targets. Its dissolution is even more important for us than that of Syria. Iraq is stronger than Syria. In the short run, it is Iraqi power which constitutes the greatest threat to Israel.

“An Iraqi-Iranian war will tear Iraq apart and cause its downfall at home even before it is able to organize a struggle on a wide front against us. Every kind of inter-Arab confrontation will assist us in the short run and will shorten the way to the more important aim of breaking up Iraq into denominations as in Syria and Lebanon.

“In Iraq, a division into provinces along ethnic/religious lines as in Syria during Ottoman times is possible. So, three (or more) states will exist around the three major cities: Basra, Baghdad and Mosul and Shiite areas in the South will separate from the Sunni and Kurdish north.”

Today the US is actively engaged in weakening the Al-Assad government and is supporting opposition parties. If it is successful, experts predict that Syria, like Iraq, will fall victim to sectarianism and internecine conflict.

    http://www.counterpunch.org/2006/04/25/is-the-us-waging-israel-s-wars/

Iraq is finished as a nation, Syria heading that way and now we’re told that Iran is the latest Hitler, helped by Putin, so Russia too must go?
What will happen first, will Israel gets its way in the ME or will the USA, her 24/7 ATM and supplier of cannon fodder, implode from all that war debt?

  • The report recommends using the U.S. military to establish safe areas in Syria to protect civilian populations, to include no-fly zones, which would bring about direct contact with the air forces of both Damascus and Moscow. It explicitly calls for direct military action against Syrian government forces including the employment of “air power, stand-off weapons, covert measures and enhanced support for opposition forces to break the current siege of Aleppo and frustrate Assad’s attempts to consolidate control over western Syria’s population centers.”

Stupidity this profound is a rather implausible prospect.

“That Syria will be fixed by coming in with force majeure on the side of what is being promoted as a progressive and humanitarian alternative to Bashar al-Assad borders on the ridiculous, but it is characteristic of the default position that many in Washington adopt when considering how to solve the problems in the Middle East.”

There is something particularly bizarre about the report. I suggest trying to read through the detail, to the extent that it isn’t too painfully longwinded and disturbing.

It is hard to see anything, in principle, wrong with the desires expressed in the document. Not surprisingly, this is simply a restatement of the same fantasies embraced by the same people for the last 30 years.

“They smiled at the good, and frowned at the bad, and sometimes they were very sad.”

I don’t see a single difference between this and the US involvement in Iraq. Iraq is “proof of failure of concept.” What would motivate development of a document like this?

The report was initially intended to serve as a bipartisan rebuke to the current Barack Obama policy which limits direct American involvement in the conflict.

It seems odd that the Obama administration is winding up with the collapse of Aleppo and the battle to retake Mosul. Humanitarian disasters, which needs to be recognized as a unpreventable possibility during war.

It’s hard to find people (except for John Bolton) that seriously defend the US invasion of Iraq. Nobel Peace Price recipient Obama attempted a ‘regime change lite’ continuation of the same set of policies. And felt the need to backfill his attempt to disengage with special forces and bombing.

The report continually advances this ‘priority’ :

    Prioritize Civilian Protection.
For both humanitarian and strategic reasons, alleviating the human suffering in the Middle East should be the immediate priority.
    And
Enforce existing international norms and laws regarding civilian aid and protection in war

The last war that the United States ‘Won’ — the so called ‘Good War’ … involved rapid disregard for international norms regarding civilian protection. It was rapidly replaced by massive strategic bombing campaigns. And finished by firebombing of German and Japanese cities.

  • Here’s hoping a new and extremely sensible sensible American administration (some hopes) will shortly build another prison on a small island offshore and lock up every war-mongering Neo-Con in Washington (and beyond) in it.

If you want to be “exceptional” get out of everywhere and shut down the manufacture of all armaments.

  • Allow me to repost news not allowed in the American press:

President al-Assad receives letter from Pope Francis expressing heartfelt sympathy with Syria

http://sana.sy/en/?p=95936 (which includes a nice photo of a Catholic Cardinal with Assad)

Damascus, SANA – President Bashar al-Assad received a letter from Pope Francis delivered by Apostolic Nuncio to Syria, Cardinal Mario Zenari, who was received by the President on Monday.

Pope Francis expressed his heartfelt sympathy for Syria and its people in light of the difficult circumstances the country is going through, and asserted the Vatican’s condemnation of all forms of extremism and terrorism.

The Pope called in his letter for uniting all efforts to put an end to the war in Syria and restore peace in it so that it can remain a model for coexistence among cultures and religions as it always has been.

For his part, President al-Assad congratulated Zenari on being ordained Cardinal, noting that keeping him as the Apostolic Nuncio to Syria after becoming Cardinal – which is the only such case in the world – is apolitical, historic, and humanitarian president that shows Pope Francis’ great care for Syria and its people.

His Excellency asserted that Syria, as a state and as a people, is determined to restore security and stability and is continuing to achieve reconciliations, as they are the optimal way for achieving that goal.

For his part, Cardinal Zenari said he is glad to remain as Apostolic Nuncio to Syria after being ordained Cardinal, stressing that Syria, the cradle of Christianity and religions, is a very important state that plays a pivotal role in the region, and it must overcome the ordeal it is going through and become better than it was before.

  • The American people don’t know very much about war even if Washington has been fighting on multiple fronts since 9/11. The continental United States has not experienced the presence a hostile military force for more than 100 years and war for the current generation of Americans consists largely of the insights provided by video games...
  • PLEASE READ: This is just an FYI, maybe a very important one.

George Soros and his social warriors may be at work.

Below was forwarded to me by a friend in law enforcement, I took out the name of the actual place for reasons of privacy (mainly mine), but I was told this is going on across the nation.

“A friend of his was walking her dog and wearing a headscarf. She was harassed by a Trump supporter, who then called the police on her. XXXXXXX county police came in with guns drawn, fired on the dog as it ran away, and handcuffed the woman. They let her go after they realized they couldn’t charge her with anything. The police acted outrageously and need to be held accountable. Please call the numbers listed in the link and spread the word!

    Michelle”

The officer told me this was a total hoax, absolutely no such event happened. He also told me such false claims were being made across the nation. The goal seems to be they are trying to set up “social warrior network”, very much like they did in Kiev, Georgia…and everywhere else Soros spreads social unrest. The concern is this could be laying the groundwork for something bigger. They build these networks now to react when some catalyst is perpetrated, a “black flag” perhaps. They repletely ask for help from “white people of good conscience”. They put out this false claim, on social netowrks and try to form oganizations to protect the police…I noted the useage of a “Trump supporter” in the original message, pretty pathetic.

The organization is called: “UP Racial Justice Peace Makers” Sounds like a George Soros color revolutionary perverse terminology to me.

The first step in avoiding a trap is knowing of its existence. This could be nothing, but considering what just happened with the election, something is coming.

Thanks for the correction Avery. Yet, it is a minor point - then the US people appear to be in a fine balance between deplorable&smart and selfish&dumb.

Many of the second kind have been whining and sobbing to make one feel sick, people devoid of character. Many are saying that Hillary lost because she has been vilified (by who?) and because she is a woman. Do not they then amply deserve the epithet 'dumb'?

I must admit that for me the most pleasurable is this character debasement of the losers, from MSM prostitutes to academic mercenary cry-babies, running now to their safe-spaces till the next election. I wish I got a cent for every time this refuse mentioned the coming fascism in America. You really do not realise what kind of characters you share the society with until something like this happens. What an election!!!

    {congratulations to the majority}

Sorry, Kiza: no congratulations are due to the majority of US voters.
Clinton actually won the popular vote:

    Clinton: 59,814,018 votes.
    Trump: 59,611,678 votes.

Trump won the Electoral College votes.
Of course that's the system here in US and that's how candidates approach it. They don't go for the popular vote: they go for the electoral votes. Some states with small populations become critical to win, because of electoral votes.

Nevertheless, this was a historic moment in US.
Given the massive assault on Trump by the Establishment, the MSM, everybody and his brother and sister - plus the too many gaffes on Trump's part, his win is beyond belief.

It is quite gratifying that the vile, anti-American warmongering, parasitic, reptilian Establishment got a bloody nose. Also, it is quite gratifying that the smug MSM talking heads who had confidently anointed The Hildabeast POTUS, got their stupid, smug heads handed to them by someone they deeply loath.

Thanks for the correction Avery. Yet, it is a minor point – then the US people appear to be in a fine balance between deplorable&smart and selfish&dumb.
