Six-time Grand Slam champion and former WTA Doubles No.1 Sania Mirza announced her pregnancy on social media Monday morning.

She last appeared on tour last fall, when she and Peng Shuai reached the semifinals of the China Open. The Instagram announcement came in the form of a cartoon locker room, featuring a baby outfit in between Mirza and husband Shoaib Malik.

Mirza married Malik in 2010, and has been one of the best women's and mixed doubles players of the last decade, partnering Martina Hingis in her most successful partnership to win three major titles in 2015 and 2016.

Shortly after pairing with the Swiss Miss, Mirza became the first Indian player to become World No.1 at the 2015 Volvo Car Open, and rode a historic 41-match winning streak from the summer of that year into the 2016 Qatar Total Open.

She later paired with Barbora Strycova, winning two titles with the Czech veteran and finishing runner-up at the Dongfeng Motor Wuhan Open.

As a singles player, she earned a career-high ranking of World No.27, and as an 18 year old became the first Indian woman to reach the second week of a Grand Slam tournament at the 2005 US Open.
