On December 7, Donald Trump issued a statement calling for “a complete and total shutdown of Muslims entering the United States…” A temporary ban? "… until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on.” Well then, maybe never. Trump’s rabble-rousing is nothing new in American politics. It wasn’t even new last month. Remember...
  • @Diversity Heretic
It's our country and we can keep out who we want for whatever reason we want. You're free to leave.

    whom

  • @5371
And if someone were to boil an ant alive, would you be horrified by that? I think it's eminently reasonable to object to boiling cats but not to boiling lobsters.

I don’t know why SC mentioned chickens of all creatures. Maybe he means we boil eggs, and he thinks an egg is the same as a chicken. I don’t know of any people who boil chicken alive; if I did I would certainly object.
Lobsters, crabs, shell fish, do not have the neurological signals for pain that warm blooded creatures have. They don’t realize the pot is getting hot and before they know it, they’re dead.

  • Horrible trash. Trump has been very human in his concerns about muslim violence-which is a part of their ideology..unlike all the other examples mentioned in this worthless article.

  • @SolontoCroesus
so -- you consider chickens and lobsters second-class critters such that it's ok to boil them alive?

And if someone were to boil an ant alive, would you be horrified by that? I think it’s eminently reasonable to object to boiling cats but not to boiling lobsters.

Don't get me started. I met a Sikh guy, very nice person but not someone you'd see as an animal rights activist. He had been in Korea and said he hated Koreans. I asked "why?" and he said they torture dogs to death because they think it makes the meat taste better, and above all, makes them more virile. They throw cats alive into boiling water to make medicine--I am haunted by a picture of a cat tied up next a cauldron staring at the photographer) He was a mild mannered person, very in love with his religion, but when he talked about the Koreans and dogs, his disgust was visceral.

Now I know a lot of kind Koreans who would never do such a thing, and the custom is, thank god, declining among the young. But I always think of it when people go on about how "superior" Asians are in intelligence. Not really all that. Many are good people, the societies do seem to run efficiently; but man ... the dogs and cats in those places. Poor things.

I don't know if I'll be voting for anybody this time round, but anything Trump is saying is nothing compared to what is happening to us, or what they would do if we demanded to live forever in their countries. That said, before the late 70s Muslims were no threat or nuisance. Not much at all. Not to us.

so — you consider chickens and lobsters second-class critters such that it’s ok to boil them alive?

  • by attacking trump, peter lee just drew the ire of 40% of the commentators at a min 🙂

  • Peter Lee has sort of a “La Raza for Asians” approach to his political views. Accusing the Trumps of the world of fear mongering in articles that monger fear to the extreme. You see, once you label something or someone “hateful”, you’re free to hate it or them openly and with all your might. He isn’t to be taken seriously.

Yes, folks…there are stupid Asian people. And some of them are columnists.

  • That thing those guys started back at that time when they stopped Jews from coming to the USA,now that was hate, terrible hate. Now we don’t have ANY Jews in America,we never have, and we have missed all the wonderful contributions they would have made to our political and cultural discourse! I can only imagine what America would have become, had those hate guys only not stopped all the Jews from coming here! Damn all you hate people! I will vote for Hillery,as she is against hate!

  • @tbraton
"Why you afraid to call yourself by real name like Pong, Fong, Wong, or Gong?"

Did you leave "Dong" off the list by accident or deliberately? "Bong"?

"But you don’t see the irony that you judge the West according to standards of West.

If you really feel Chinee, then you should judge America by Chinee standards.
In that case, you should say America was wrong for too much openness."

You hit the nail on the head with that comment. I am not familiar with Peter Lee. Is he a natural born American of Chinese heritage? a Chinese-American who is a naturalized U.S. citizen? or a Chinese citizen living here or in China or elsewhere? Here's the problem I find with Peter Lee's criticism of America. On the one hand, he complains about America's historical exclusion of Chinese, but, if he is right about the United States being a hateful place, those exclusionary laws actually worked to the benefit of Chinese, who otherwise would have been enticed to leave the paradise that was and is China for the hellhole of America. So I am left confused about exactly what he seeks. Does he want the U.S. to admit more Chinese to make up for past exclusions? Exactly what gives Chinese like Mr. Lee the right to live in the U.S.? And does his criticism of the U.S. mean he has no criticisms of his native China? During my lifetime, I can recall China living under Communism and China living through the Cultural Revolution, neither of which sound like lovely experiences. It seems China is still governed by the Communist Party, and there is no freedom of religion or freedom of speech. So he is criticizing America for not living up to its ideals, which do not even exist in China. Is that what Peter Lee prefers? If that is the case, I guess he will always have China. Otherwise, I am baffled by the point he is trying to make.

“Why you afraid to call yourself by real name like Pong, Fong, Wong, or Gong?”

Did you leave “Dong” off the list by accident or deliberately? “Bong”?

Chinese man goes into a bar and asks for a drink. The bartender asks, “Why the wong face?”

My Chinese friend gets really annoyed at me when I spelike his name Wrong.

Craziness is as Chinese as dog soup(made of dog tortured to death).

Don’t get me started. I met a Sikh guy, very nice person but not someone you’d see as an animal rights activist. He had been in Korea and said he hated Koreans. I asked “why?” and he said they torture dogs to death because they think it makes the meat taste better, and above all, makes them more virile. They throw cats alive into boiling water to make medicine–I am haunted by a picture of a cat tied up next a cauldron staring at the photographer) He was a mild mannered person, very in love with his religion, but when he talked about the Koreans and dogs, his disgust was visceral.

Now I know a lot of kind Koreans who would never do such a thing, and the custom is, thank god, declining among the young. But I always think of it when people go on about how “superior” Asians are in intelligence. Not really all that. Many are good people, the societies do seem to run efficiently; but man … the dogs and cats in those places. Poor things.

I don’t know if I’ll be voting for anybody this time round, but anything Trump is saying is nothing compared to what is happening to us, or what they would do if we demanded to live forever in their countries. That said, before the late 70s Muslims were no threat or nuisance. Not much at all. Not to us.

Why Bush was reelected? Why Blair was?

I certainly agree that the U.S. has practiced an overly interventionist foreign policy, probably at least since the time of the Spanish-American War. You seem to contend, however, that we have some obligation to open our borders to people who (in your opinion) have every right to hate and resent us. Thanks, but I’ll pass.

Peter Flea, why you call yourself Peter? And why your last name Flea?

Why you afraid to call yourself by real name like Pong, Fong, Wong, or Gong?
Why you use Anglicized 'Flea' than 'Fli'? You ashame of Chinee?

Peter Flea, you do good to read Jung Chang's book on Dowager woman.

    http://www.nybooks.com/articles/2013/12/05/surprising-empress/

I not finish but it interesting read.

It reveal something about yellow political complex.

Like you, Peter Flea, Jung Chang grow up feeling so proud and righteous in being Chinee. She think Chinee so great(even though her generation destroy Chinee culture in name of red revolution, but then, Chinee not much into logic).
Jung Chang grow up thinking whites all foreign devils and capitalists to boot, while Chinee all good non-white brothers and sisters and communist to boot(never mind communism come from West).

Jung Chang once see modern Chinee history in simple term of bad foreign devil do bad stuff to noble suffering chinee folks.
But her brain about to explode from too much contradiction under Mao.
On one hand, she was told that Chinee such good noble victim of bad white folk.
And Chinee-ness so wonderful and good. And Chinee-ness all about Chinee defend Chiner from foreign devil, especially white kind.

But Mao also say all Chinese culture no good cuz of Confucius, Lao Tzu, Suzie Wong, Fortune Cookie, and chop suey. So, cultural revolution say smash all Chinee culture.
Now imagine if you're smart girl like Jung Chang. On one hand, Mao's regime say 'we Chinee so wonderful and proud, and foreign devil no good'. But then, it also, 'Chinee culture suck so bad for 1000s of yrs and it all must be smashed in name of revolution with idears that come from West.' Surely, it enough to make person batshit crazy.

Still, she so into Chinee pride and communist zealotry that she have simple view of world. Chinee noble and suffer. White world imperialist and bad. And Chinee suffer 100 yrs of shame and humiliation under Anglo folks who sip tea and act fruity.

But as Chiner open up and she see the big world, her world come crashing down.
She realize that white folks often saner and nicer and kinder than yellow folks in Chiner who are mean, nasty, vicious, cruel, and eat dog.
She grew up hearing white people, especially Anglos, all evil, but they not so bad.
She even marry some bloody bloke who treat her kinder than how yellow men act in Chiner with their hunger for cat and dog.
But she still think, 'ah, maybe white folks got better over yrs, but in the past, they totally bad and did bad shit to China.' But she read history, and it plain as day that, even though western imperialists do bad stuff, they offer so much that actually benefit Chiner very much and if not for such influence, Chiner would still be crazy country where men wear pigtail, where women have bound feet, where people killed by 1000 cuts over not serving sweet and sour pork right to landlord.
Just like her bloody bloke hubby make her see with new eyes, she realize bloody bloke imperialists not only rape Chiner in past but bear lot of gift that bring about progress for Chiner.

Peter Flea, you talk big about America, but whatever America do bad in 19th century, Chiner much worse. Why? Cuz even though white America treat Chinee bad, Chinee treat fellow Chinee much much worse.
And it was western pressure that force Chiner to make modern reform in all area.

But you don't see the irony that you judge the West according to standards of West.

If you really feel Chinee, then you should judge America by Chinee standards.
In that case, you should say America was wrong for too much openness.

After all, for most of Chinee history, the main political virtue was chauvinism and 'xenophobia'. Chinee feel they center of universe in middle kingdom. Chinee feel barbarians have no right to come to Chiner except on knees bearing gifts and acting like servile dog.
According to such standard, even 'racist' America of yesterday too liberal and too open and too progressive and too moral.

“Why you afraid to call yourself by real name like Pong, Fong, Wong, or Gong?”

Did you leave “Dong” off the list by accident or deliberately? “Bong”?

“But you don’t see the irony that you judge the West according to standards of West.

If you really feel Chinee, then you should judge America by Chinee standards.
In that case, you should say America was wrong for too much openness.”

You hit the nail on the head with that comment. I am not familiar with Peter Lee. Is he a natural born American of Chinese heritage? a Chinese-American who is a naturalized U.S. citizen? or a Chinese citizen living here or in China or elsewhere? Here’s the problem I find with Peter Lee’s criticism of America. On the one hand, he complains about America’s historical exclusion of Chinese, but, if he is right about the United States being a hateful place, those exclusionary laws actually worked to the benefit of Chinese, who otherwise would have been enticed to leave the paradise that was and is China for the hellhole of America.

I fail to see any hatred in what Trump is saying. Sure, he is bombastic in his delivery, but that’s a sign of honesty rather than hatred. The true hatred could be found right underneath Hillary’s cold polish.

These leftist mass media types are sheltered. A real racist would give them a coronary (and still not actually approach their silly “hate” caricatures).

As for hatred, attonn has it right, the author and his ilk (though most of them are drawing checks from the leftist corporate media, unlike Lee) are where the real action is. Anything but equal rights for those dirty whites.

The Chinese are so racist, they don’t need any “acts” or “laws” to enact their racism. They just refuse to allow whites, or any other non-yellows, to immigrate to China and become citizens in significant numbers. Pretty simple, eh?

If Chinee had vision and energy, they long ago sail across Pacific and take over America long long long before white man.

This. They could’ve followed their own coastline north and found Alaska easily, but instead studied their own navels for thousands of years. They didn’t even settle Taiwan FFS. But as soon as YT makes something out of the continent, OMG now it’s raciss to exclude the yellow man.

The real kicker is how they moan about the Opium trade, and blame it on whites. They don’t have the balls to say it was the Jews running it.

Russia don’t allow any number Chinee come to Siberia.
Chinee no complain about that, so why Chinee complain about America policy?

Because grifting Yankee YT is where the money’s at. Vampires don’t feed on other vampires.

The thing that always bothered me about the internment of Japanese Americans [and Japanese Canadians- my country did it too] was that many [possibly a majority, I never seem to find numbers on this] were US citizens or British Subjects [Canadians at the time] by birth or naturalization.

That's called rounding up your own citizens without any of them as individuals giving cause, and based on a [even after Pearl Harbour] rather panicked overreaction to the military threat and a [apparently] wholly imagined internal security threat. If you claim to be a free country, at least you should wait until a threat actually manifests itself. It's the price of claiming to be free.

That, and don't steal the property of the innocent internees and sell it off at auction to your corrupt cronies.

On the other hand, to whatever extent the internees included resident Japanese who had no other citizenship, even having done nothing, internment was legitimate even if unnecessary. Enemy nationals in time of war. Nothing else required.

If some kind of actual sign of treason, rebellion or espionage manifests in the citizen community, it can be proceeded against per normal procedures at any time.

As for the immigration issues, wah. Any sovereign country can and should have the power to exclude anyone it wishes for any reason, however base, including no reason at all. No one crosses someone else's border, still less settles, without permission. And no one has any right to. And any sovereign country claiming to be a democracy or a republic belongs 100% to its citizens and no one else.

I think you have to appreciate the little steps. They weren’t killed or burned out of their homes. It takes a long time to get past certain behaviors. It looks really bad now based on what we know, for example, the honorable service of Japanese Americans in the military. It is easy now to say that it was a horrible thing to do to them in light of what is now known. And it was horrible, but I don’t think that could have been understood then, only now, after the fact.

    Dear Mr. Lee:

I have a Master’s degree in English for Speakers of Other Languages, so I shall leave others to engage in the tumult over Trump and its possible relation to “hate” and get straight to the English lesson of which you are in need.

    You wrote: “T’aint so, unfortunately.”

This is incorrect. The correct form is:” ‘Taint so, unfortunately “. The apostrophe comes before the T. The reason is that, in our language, an apostrophe is used to mark the space in a word where a regular letter (or letters) has been omitted. “Is not” = “Isn’t”. “Can’t” = “Cannot”. “O’ertaken” = “Overtaken”. “Will o’ the Wisp” = “Will of the Wisp”. “Cat o’ Nine Tails” = “Cat of Nine Tails”. ” ‘Tis ” = “It is”. ” ‘Taint ” = “It ain’t.” Since “ain’t” is colloquial, ” ‘taint ” is colloquial, although ” ’tis ” is not colloquial because “it is” is not colloquial.

One rarely hears ” ‘taint so! ” because it is the contrary of ” ’tis so! ” ” ’tis ” has largely been superseded by “it’s”, so as ” ’tis ” has faded from usage, ” ‘taint ” has faded along with it. (Yes, I too am a grammatical sinner. I have broken the rules on spacing of double quotation marks to prevent confusion. Mea culpa.)

I hope you won’t “hate” me for pointing out that you, for all your seeming mastery, still need to look up “hard words”. This is one case in which your overconfidence got the better of you.

  • The thing that always bothered me about the internment of Japanese Americans [and Japanese Canadians- my country did it too] was that many [possibly a majority, I never seem to find numbers on this] were US citizens or British Subjects [Canadians at the time] by birth or naturalization.

That’s called rounding up your own citizens without any of them as individuals giving cause, and based on a [even after Pearl Harbour] rather panicked overreaction to the military threat and a [apparently] wholly imagined internal security threat. If you claim to be a free country, at least you should wait until a threat actually manifests itself. It’s the price of claiming to be free.

That, and don’t steal the property of the innocent internees and sell it off at auction to your corrupt cronies.

No one crosses someone else’s border, still less settles, without permission. And no one has any right to. And any sovereign country claiming to be a democracy or a republic belongs 100% to its citizens and no one else.

    14,000 German-Americans aint peanuts.

I gues it's like Afrikaners. We should care about Jews in Israel but white South Africans who are getting robbed, raped, and murdered?

    Forget about it.

I think you have to appreciate the little steps. They weren't killed or burned out of their homes. It takes a long time to get past certain behaviors. It looks really bad now based on what we know, for example, the honorable service of Japanese Americans in the military. It is easy now to say that it was a horrible thing to do to them in light of what is now known. And it was horrible, but I don't think that could have been understood then, only now, after the fact.

I detect a lot of hatred for the founding ethnic stock of this country from Mr. Lee.

Well put. Gazing on the polyglot multicultural wreckage that increasingly characterizes the United States, I’m becoming more and more sympathetic to the Know Nothing Party. I wonder if there has ever been a sympathetic history written of the movement.

Meanwhile, it's Islamophobia on steroids in China:

    https://www.hrw.org/news/2005/04/12/china-religious-repression-uighur-muslims

The Chinese government is directing a crushing campaign of religious repression against China’s Muslim Uighurs in the name of anti-separatism and counter-terrorism, Human Rights Watch and Human Rights in China said in a new report today.

The 114-page report, Devastating Blows: Religious Repression of Uighurs in Xinjiang, is based on previously undisclosed Communist Party and government documents, as well as local regulations, official newspaper accounts, and interviews conducted in Xinjiang. It unveils for the first time the complex architecture of law, regulation, and policy in Xinjiang that denies Uighurs religious freedom, and by extension freedom of association, assembly, and expression. Chinese policy and law enforcement stifle religious activity and thought even in school and at home. One official document goes so far as to say that “parents and legal guardians may not allow minors to participate in religious activities.”

...Highly intrusive religious control extends to organized religious activities, religious practitioners, schools, cultural institutions, publishing houses, and even to the personal appearance and behavior of Uighur individuals. State authorities politically vet all imams on a regular basis and require “self-criticism” sessions; impose surveillance on mosques; purge schools of religious teachers and students; screen literature and poetry for political allusions; and equate any expression of dissatisfaction with Beijing’s policies with “separatism” – a state security crime under Chinese law that can draw the death penalty.

At its most extreme, peaceful activists practicing their religion in ways that the Party and government deem unacceptable are arrested, tortured, and at times executed. The harshest punishments are saved for those accused of involvement in so-called separatist activity, which officials increasingly term “terrorism” for domestic and external consumption.

At a more mundane level, Uighurs face harassment in their daily lives. Celebrating religious holidays, studying religious texts, or showing one’s religion through personal appearance are strictly forbidden at state institutions, including schools. The Chinese government vets who can be a cleric, what version of the Koran is acceptable, where religious gatherings may be held, and what may be said.

If there’s a debate to which Human Rights Wank can make a valuable contribution, I have yet to meet it.

“For institutionalized discrimination by region of origin, look no further than the Chinese Exclusion Act, which strictly limited the entry of Chinese into the United States from 1882 until 1943, when the whole ‘China is our ally in World War II’ thing led to repeal.”

    Peter Flea, you crazy nut?

Chinee Exclusion Act make good sense.

Just think back then. In West Coast, there just handful of white settlers. In Chiner, there 100s of millions of Chinee. If US allow open immigration, all those Chinee come and take over. That no good for white man.
Same with Australia. White man make modern Australia, but there not many white folks there. If white people permit open immigration from Chiner, yellows take over whole continent. There too many Chinee.

What the point of white man having vision to sail across Atlantic, conquer land, work hard to move west and build so much… just to hand it all to Chinee?
If Chinee had vision and energy, they long ago sail across Pacific and take over America long long long before white man. And then, America would be yellow continent. But Chinee too busy and too lacking in vision. So, they stay home while white man discover America and make it into great nation. So, why should white man give up that great stuff to yellow who just stay in Asia and eat rice?
white man go through all that trouble to hand over his discovery and work to foreigners? that sound crazy, peter flea.

Besides, Chinee have foreign-devil exclusion act for 1000s of yrs. Chinee say, ‘You foreign devil barbarian, you no come here. Middle kingdom our land of our ancestor.’ Chinee even build great wall to keep out Mongols. Mongols awful hurt by ‘barbarian exclusion act and wall’ by Chinee. In fact, Mongols and Manchus so hurt by Chinee ‘racism’ and ‘xenophobia’ that they conquer Chinee under Khan and later under Manchu Ching dynasty. But they also catch Chinee bug and they too say ‘no foreign devil come here’. (By the way, Manchu treat Chinee far worse than white people ever do.) Chinee and Manchu so ‘racist’ and ‘xenophobic’ that when British come to China and bring nice gift like clock, gun, and other stuff, Manchu and Chinee say, ‘you go away and no come here. Just buy our tea and shove your thing up queen’s arse.’
Now, that no polite to foreigner coming to do trade.

So, British end the ‘foreign devil exclusion act’, but Chinee now even complain about that.

Also, Chinee not only exclude foreign devil but even say ‘no Chinee go out of Chiner. If he go to land of foreign devil, he no longer Chinee and he not come back, and if he come back, his head cut off good.’
So, Chinee far more extreme. And under Mao, China totally closed. No one come in, and no Chinee go out.
And even now, Chiner not open. Tibet only open to Han Chinee immigration. Suppose 10 million Asian-Indians want come to Tibet and settle. Chinee say ‘no, you dotter stay there, not come here.’
And nations around China have exclusion act. Japan no allow any number of Chinee come there. Russia don’t allow any number Chinee come to Siberia.
Chinee no complain about that, so why Chinee complain about America policy?

Besides, Peter Flea, why you want come to America? You dork yellow men just lose your women to foreign devil. Chinee women come to America, then they compare foreign handsome devil with Chinee dork males, and they choose foreign handsome devil. They soon say ‘no dogs and chinese males allowed in my bedroom’, and their undies say ‘chinee penis exclusion act in my pooter’.

Peter Flea, there too many Chinee. Just stay in Chiner which very big country for you Chinee to fix up. Why you come here? Why Chinee pregnant women come here and take advantage of benefits? that no good. that not fair. It not egg, it not young, it just foo.

As for Japanese internment, it sort of nasty business, but no Japper killed. Most treated nice and given three meals a day.
In contrast, looky what Japper do to Chinee in Nanking. Lookie how Japper treat Indonesian. Indonesians often say, ‘crazy Japper kill more of us in few yrs than Dutch kill us in 300 yrs’.

Yellow once say ‘yankee go home’. It about time Americans say ‘yang-tze go home’.

“Then came the San Bernardino massacre, committed by non-Syrians, so some epistemological backfilling was necessary; and it was an opportunity to kick it up another notch with a bigger, more grandiosely Donaldesque ban.”

Peter Flea, why you no see big picture?

The idea of ‘Syrian’ very weak. It was imposed on people living there by Western Imperialists. Long long ago in history, there some ethnic group called ‘Syrian’ but what called ‘Syria’ just made up of bunch of different sects and ethnic groups.

The very civil war in Syria is proof ‘Syrian’ not very powerful as identity.
In fact, it show that ‘Syrians’ themselves reject the label. If they all Syrian, why they fight one another and go crazy? They fight and go crazy cuz they not sure what ‘Syria’ mean. Idea of ‘Syrian’ no longer strong enough to keep them united one people.

‘Syria’ once mean an area run by Western Imperialists. Then, ‘Syria’ mean territory under rule of Assad regime.
So, what is meaning of ‘Syrian’? Implosion of Syria shows that many Syrians have no deep Syrian identity.
It no wonder that so many people who not Syrian enter Europe as ‘Syrians’.
Because ‘Syrian’ identity so weak, many Syrians now turn to other identity that have more powerful meaning to them. Kurds in Syria prefer see themselves as Kurds, a genuine ethnic group with distinct language. But Christians and Alawites in Syria not see eye to eye with many Sunni Syrians who feel closer to Sunnis in Iraq or elsewhere. And Turkmen people in Syria feel closer to Turkey.
And some ‘Syrians’ join force with Jihadis and prefer Islamism as main identity.
When national identity weak and artificial as in Syria, things get very fluid.

So, even if terrorists in San Bernardino not ‘Syrian’, it not much matter. They Muslim radical, and there now Muslim radical in Syria, and some come here. That is what matter most. But Peter Flea, your Ming Merciless talk cloud your head from seeing truth.

After WWII and retreat of European imperialism, people in Middle East try bunch of idea. Some lean to Marxism, but it not go far. At one time, Egypt and Syria join as one nation, but it not go far. Pan-Arabism turn out weak.
And then, there was Baath Party across Arab Land. Syria and Iraq both run by Baath parties, but pan-Baathism no take either. They throw out baby with baath water, haha it a joke, you get, Peter Flea?

Now, there no more faith in nothing but core ethnic identity like ‘Kurd’ and Islam.

So, ‘syrian’ no longer mean nothing solid.

Not to us.

Your point is very valid . Problem with this late awareness is the history of American intervention by money, bribes, guns, drugs, and entrapment tegime changes in other countries for decades that have gone unanswered by the world. Refugge is a small payment towards that colossal moral, financial and future legal debts .
Just few months ago Clinton apologized to Guataemal for causing the coup. Too late and too cheap way to avert the culpability . The pied pipers will show up on the door one way or another to exact the owed debt

Those very genuine intelligent partitiotoc citizen who support Trumps or Cruz or Graham or Clinton without their knowledge become stupid ,moron, vile treacherous ,fanatic dangerous sheeple the moment they cheer for more wars in Midfle east or lend standing ovation on support to Israeli expansionary wars or settlements or on sale of arms to Saudis that kill Syrians and Yemenis or simply shrug off when reminded of the war crimes and genocides carried against Iraqis from 1991

You want to have the legitimate say on border and immigration . You can exercise that privilege provided you rein in your tyrannical destructive foreign policies by voting out those who practice these and adhere to these mind boggling money generating corrupting locally destructive machinations that leave nations in state of permanent civil war from Afghanistan to Somalia to Congo.
Accept responsibility and work for change
Its not late. People are forgiving and America still enjoys a lot of love and charm and respect .
