Sleeping Beauty

Amphicoelias Brontodiplodocus

Sleeping Beauty is a wholly unique offering: a fully articulated, completely mounted, ready-for-exhibition, eighty-foot-long sauropod skeleton. Accurately mounted in a rearing pose, this specimen bears the distinction of being the first sauropod skeleton comprised of actual fossil bone mounted in an upright position.

While most sauropod displays in museums are composite or heavily reconstructed from incomplete specimens, all the bones of this skeleton belonged to a single adult individual, making it quite unique.

Now exhibited in The Dubai Mall, there is no comparable specimens of this quality exist in and other private or museum collections. All other Diplodocus, Barosaurus, and Apatosaurus exhibited specimens are fragmentary or comprised of several different individuals. Moreover, this specimen has not been formally described in the paleontological literature to date, leaving the door wide open for numerous original research opportunities.

Even though Sleeping Beauty (now DinoDubai) has been purchased, there are other Amphicoelias brontodiplodocus skeletons available with similar quality. The full brochure exhibits the caliber and expertise you will find in the other available specimens.
