Bruno Mars performs at the Bottle Rock Napa Valley Music Festival on May 27, 2018 in Napa, Calif.

After wrapping his two-year 24K Magic Tour in Hawaii last November, Bruno Mars ended the year on top with a two-night stint at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. He leads the Hot Tours recap (see below) dated Jan. 26, 2019, grossing $5.9 million from 30,241 tickets on Dec. 30-31, according to figures reported to Billboard Boxscore.

It’s his fourth consecutive year spending New Year’s Eve in Sin City. After closing out 2015 at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan, Mars spent 2016 and 2017 at The Park Theater before graduating to the T-Mobile Arena at the end of 2018. The Grammy-winning chart-topper leveled up by making a giant 114 percent increase over last year’s $2.7 million gross and 10,292 attendance count.

Similarly, Maroon 5 returned to Vegas for New Year’s Eve, ringing in 2019 at Mandalay Bay Events Center for the third consecutive year. On Dec. 30-31, 2018, they grossed $2.3 million, up 4 percent from last year. While this year’s 15,463 tickets sold is enough to be their best-attended NYE stint, the $2.7 million grossed in 2016 remains their most successful two-night Vegas engagement.

Late 2018 MGM concerts dominate this week’s tally, with Anita Baker at No. 6 from three shows at The Theater at MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Md. There, she grossed $1.3 million on Dec. 26, 28-29, selling out all three performances at 8,271 tickets. These shows represent Baker’s biggest engagement in more than 20 years, since her five-night run at New York’s Radio City Music Hall in 1995 ($1.8 million; 28,285 tickets sold).
