WINTER SPRING 2019
NEW RESIDENT ARTISTS
SomoS is happy to welcome several new artists to its Berlin Artist-in-Residence Program Winter/Spring 2019.
Berry Kim is a painter from South Korea, who, through colorful mixed-media drawings, paintings, sculptures, and wearable art celebrates individuality and expression of character in a hyper image/status-focused society, such as that of her home country.
French-born painter Christie MacDonald explores our internet-focused world in thought-provoking abstractions. Her project underway at SomoS draws upon her recent travels to Asia, reconciling her culture and memories with those she experienced abroad.
Performance artist Lara Salmon returns to Berlin to present a performance at SomoS’ exhibition space in February.
Hanae Moreno joins us from Geneva to pursue her autobiographical figurative painting focused on the self and the body.
Syed Shoaib Mahmood (India) works in mixed media and sculpture. He is working towards a presentation of new work to be presented February 2019.
