The Missouri softball coaching staff is officially filled after the team announced it named former Tiger Emily Crane as a volunteer coach.

Crane was an All-American for the Tigers in 2016. To go with her All-American honor, Crane was named to the first-team All-SEC team and SEC all-defensive team and was a College Sports Information Directors of America academic all-american. In that season, Crane finished with a .404 average, 17 home runs, 61 RBIs and 25 stolen bases.

"Emily is a Mizzou Tiger to the core," coach Larissa Anderson said in a statement. "The pride and passion she has for Mizzou softball is contagious and engulfs everyone around her. Being one of the most successful players to graduate from this program, she can relate to our players and what it means to be a Tiger. Not only am I excited to have Emily complete our staff, but I know our fans will be excited to see her back in our dugout as well."

Crane’s coaching focus will be on the outfield, where she played during her collegiate career. Along with a standout senior season, Crane’s name can be found throughout the Missouri record books. She finished her career second with a .383 batting average, fourth with 186 runs, seventh with 150 RBIs and fifth with 83 stolen bases.

Crane has spent the last three years in the National Pro Fastpitch League. She will finish the season with the Chicago Bandits before joining the Missouri staff.
