SmsGGOO Version 3.0
« on: October 31, 2009, 08:34:01 am »
Hi all,
Here is the new version of SmsGGOO

What's new :
Quote
V3.0 : 31/10/2009
  # fix tv out pb
+ no more GG / SMS choice, SmsGGOO choose game type with extension
+ move to gcc 4 instead of gcc 3.3.1
+ change sound threading to be more accurate
+ more accurate sound (thx joyrider for tips about sound)
  + Add key config menu
  + load/save config in \game\smsggoo.cfg

You can download the .SIM file here : SmsGGOOV3.0

Put SmsGGOO.SIM in your GAME directory. Put your .SMS and .GG games where you want.
Use "Interesting game" from Dingoo menu and choose your .COL file, the emu will launch with the game ;)

*Warning, new release 3.0, please donwload it again if you downloaded before 10:25 AM this days

Thanks!

Just one thing, sound & music is too fast (the speed was ok in 2.0), are you running in the wrong sample rate? :S

It seems like it's not only the sound, I think the games are running too fast. But it's more noticable in the music.

Hum, strange, i took a look at Aladin SMS version on my PC (with Meka emulator) and same version on SmsGGOO and i think it's near to be the same (of course, my emu is not a Meka port) ...
Do you have some examples of such pbs ?

Start Alex Kidd, and find the first bird. Now do the same on the computer. The bird on the dingoo is faster than on the computer.

Edit:
Also, compare the music. For me the music is a bit jumpy in Meka, so I prefer Past-O-Rama. It's also much more clean in Past-O-Rama.

As i said with my PM SiENcE , just tell me which game has wrong color, such post does not help me to improve emu (i tested somes GG games and all were fine with colors ....) ^^
Harteex, ok, good test, i will do the same and update SmsGGOO to be ok with that, thanks.

I switched back over to your emulator on the native firmware. It's great! I especially like the aspect ratio video opion for the game gear. Could you implement this for SMS as well? I just couldn't stand the interface for selecting games in the SDL version on dingux. Great job! I'm looking forward to future releases :)

Thanks for your comment. About resizing sms game, well, you don't need aspect ratio, they are with correct ratio i think.

Same here. I tried to remove others emulators, but there is not conflicts, bug is still here. I've an old black Dingoo, with the latest firmware.

GameGear Emu has wrong colors.
If you renamed your gamegear roms .gg to .sms, for the old version of the emulator, you must rename your roms from .sms to .gg

BTW thanx a lot Alekmaul, you might not remind me, but I sent you a mail about a possible GBC emulator. Thanks a lot for your work, really nice job!  8)

It's not a pb with others emulators, it's a pb with my emulator llop during emulation. I will try to fix it this weekend.

Thanks ^^ and your dream about a gbc emulator is now real with joyrider port of gnuboy ^^
