Temper 0.81 for Dingoo Native has been released.
See www.slaanesh.net (http://www.slaanesh.net) for details.
Please feel free to discuss this release here.

Great update! I hope that you will achieve also a GCW Zero version! :)
-
Thanks again slaanesh. A great update for one of my favorite systems. You are certainly keeping the A320 scene alive.
Much appreciated!!
-
Is there no GCW-Zero version of Temper 0.81?

As far as I know, there isn't an official opk version !
PS: an opk release exists (here (https://www.sendspace.com/file/3elek4)), but it's not properly optimized and it should be made from an old Temper version (0.75 or above).
-
Its great, Slaanesh! PCE CD games go out to TV screen !
PS: Now i love Australia, the Kangooros, Nick Cave, and the loco-locomotion :)

If you set the Dingoo A320's clock to 336Mhz, then anything should in theory be displayable on the screen.
I wanted to optimize the emulator so that I could set the default speed to 336Mhz. Most games should play full speed at 336Mhz, even CD games.
Super Grafx unfortunately needs a little more as it's doing double the video work.

Does it support microsd/minisd?
How to install to external card?
-
Thaaaaannksssss!!!!!! ;D
-
Is there any way for load roms placed in the SD? Only can load those roms if temper is installed in SD, but if installed in NAND, i cant load SD roms.
-
The emulator only supports storage from the device that it is loaded on.
You can install on your SD card and then only access games on your SD card.
I could add support for cross storage device access in a future release.
-
I am hoping for another release as there are some games that have some graphic issues which I feel may be fixed in a future release of Temper.

Many thanks for Temper on Dingoo. A GCW Zero version of Temper should have enough power to emulate the Super Grafx at full speed if not the Dingoo. Any chance of a GCW Zero version in the near future?
-
The Dingoo A320 can emulate the Super Grafx at fullspeed: it just requires clocking the CPU to 384Mhz.
I'll put a GCW-zero version on the to-do list.

Thanks! A specific and updated version will be a precious addition to the GCW Zero "software fleet" ! :)
-
This version of Temper now play correctly the sounds and screams of Castlevania Rondo of Blood ;D Thanks Slaanesh!

Slaanesh, what are you working on presently, or what are your plans with Dingoo emulation update for near future?

Well I have lots of projects on the go. For every project you see, there are at least two that never make a release.
I was working on a super-quick Gameboy Advance release, but I just couldn't get the recompiler to work correctly.
Games would play for a few seconds - at great speed :) but then it would crash.
Just about everything started and some games would run for longer. I may still revisit that one.
If I had a proper C++ toolchain I would get DOSBOX working for Dingoo A320 Native - it would be really fast!
I started on this but... that had to be put down.
I have a Vectrex emulator but those already exist.
Toyed with the idea of FBA for Dingoo Native as well.
Still going to release Neko Project II which is a PC-9801 emulator. Pretty esoteric but could be a bit of fun.
-
... please, you don't "forget" MAME4ALL and Temper 0.81 for the GCW Zero! ;)
-
MAME is my next focus for the GCW-Zero.

Happy to read this good news! ;)

Started IPU hardware accelerated screen scaling and boy the initial results are good!
The combination of Triple Buffer and IPU scaler gives significantly faster and higher quality scaled screens than software solutions.

Slaan,
If you choose Hyper_Dyne_SideArms_Special_(NTSC-J)_[HACD9002] standard mode, the Dingoo will totally freeze.
Strider_Hiryuu_(NTSC-J)_[NAPR-1041] is a bit laggy even with overclock.
The other games i have played since the 081 release run perfectly
-
I feel like I am beating my head against this. I am trying to run Rondo of Blood. My text file on the SD card just tells me it fails to load. I select the game in .cue format, and it always kicks me to the main menu. If I tell it to swap disks and select the game, it just freezes the dingoo. Any help would be appreciated.
Edit: Just a pathing issue. When I converted my .wavs to .oggs, I missed one in the original ,cue. a closer look at my text log showed me. Very cool emulator. I am getting a slight crackle in the background sound in Rondo of Blood. Is that normal? Or do I have a setting wrong?

Are you working on the newer version of Temper? Or a proper version of Sega CD emulator?
-
i dont really have much to add to Temper... What's missing?
I've got a MAME4ALL release coming and I will release Neko Project as well both for the Dingoo Native.

Just minor issues i mentioned early:

Strider_Hiryuu_(NTSC-J)_[NAPR-1041] is a bit laggy even with overclock, and
Cho Aniki freezes at the and of the first stage.
What is Neko?

Any way to reduce/eliminate scratchy cdaudio? Tried ogg. Tried wav. Tried overclocking to 430mhz. No change :'(
Is there a specific ogg encoding setting that'll work?
Update: Ok, it seems to be a problem with 0.81. CD Audio is fine in 0.80. Hmm wonder why..
-
*super noob* here... just how do you install it in the Dingoo A320?
I've copied the whole temper_dingoo_native_0.81_binary map in the mail memory of my dingoo, and put some pce roms in the folder, but it doesn't work, How do I install the native pce emulator?
Want to play some pce games!!
Thanks *supergreen noob* DHELL

Just wondering what exactly was the issue, I've tried some CD games and they seem to be okay for me? Can you specify a particular game or two as an example? I've many PC Engine CDs so can try them out.
-
It's been a while so I only remember trying Lords Of Thunder.
You can try Dracula X. That's a perfect example. The menu screen music will have minimal distortion in 0.80. 0.81 will have alot of distortion.

Go to "3D GAME" and then find the"TEMPER.APP" file. Run it and load your game from there.
