I sold mine as a "value added" item with my Wiz. :D

Since then I've purchased a Samsung phone with a great wall charger, so I use that one for a number of devices now.
Samsung Galaxy Note 2
Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4
Toshiba Excite 10 AT300
Ouya!

i used a really good ipod usb charger (1000mA)  and my dingoo stops charging after a few seconds! is this a bug???

it shows "charging" for a few seconds and then it shows "battery full" - when its obviously not full at all??

question - the original dingoo problems are fine are they? the one with the factory name label on the chargers?

does anyone have any problem with those authentic ones?  i went to dingoo888 website and they said that "fake chargers" might explode, and they showed a picture to help identify which is original and which is fake - mine seems to be legit , so should i use it?

all my other usb chargers (for my ipods) doesnt seem to charge my dingoo, it would charge for a few secs and then stop

i just tried the charger that came with the dingoo and it works!  so i either have to use this or my pc's usb (VEERY SLOWWWW)

Are you talking about the green battery animation? It's not charging while it's doing that. Press a button and skip the animation. It will go back to the menu screen with a "+" in the little corner battery icon, so you know it's charging.

Just because the dingoo wall charger seems like it's working at the moment doesn't mean it's not messing stuff up. It's still probably best not to use it. If your Dingoo starts to get abnormally hot or if you see your battery start to puff up, don't use it anymore.

awww seriously?

by the way - does anyone know if using a double usb cable will charge the dingoo faster? i have an old usb cable with two usb cords (which suppose to deliver more power into the electronic device)  does this work?

no, people seem to think you can just force something to charge faster by giving it more current, when in reality they badly need an electronics lesson

the dingoo will not draw any more current even if you use a 50 amp charger with it, it'll just take what it needs to charge (unless of course you poke a soldering iron into the charging circuit in the right place, and lower the resistance of it, which would probably just make your battery explode anyway)

okay after making some observations:

DO NOT USE THE INCLUDED CHARGER EVEN IF ITS THE "REAL" (with the stickers) ONE!

at first i used the included charger coz that was the only wall charger that charges my dingoo :

BUT lately i noticed that i can smell the "burnt plastic" thingie when i was charging my dingoo - very dangerous!

and also, no matter how long you plug the charger, the dingoo will never show the "Battery full " logo - it will keep on  charging the dingoo! (thats why its dangerous!)  it charges the dingoo very quickly (empty to 267000) within 2 hours, but it will never show the battery full logo

now i use my iphone charger with a different usb cable - works awesome!

note to people : if you think your usb wall charger is not charging your dingoo, try a different cable!

i used a midi cable that came with my akai drum pads and they work perfectly - the ones that came with the dingoo didnt do it well

Mine never left the box, I always used a USB cable on the PC ;D I also used a cigarette lighter to USB adapter while on holiday. Both worked great.
Heck, even the stock USB cable would give me problems, so I'm not even using that either!

Just sayin', my wall charger works just fine. I've left it plugged in for days with no smells, no overheating, no sparks when I plug it in, etc. I think maybe something has been corrected in their production...? Or maybe mine's just a fluke. XD
I've left mine plugged in for more than 2 weeks now... no smells or problems.

ur the lucky one!

mine charges the dingoo ultra fast , from empty to full in less than 2 hours (maybe one hour and a half)
but then when i smell the charger it smelt like burnt plastic - really scary! and the charger was very very warm, not just warm, really warm!

for me that was a warning not to use it ever again... so i use my ipod charger instead, it chargers my dingoo more slowly (4 hours+ for a full charge, giving me about 8 hours of playtime) but its very safe and the battery indicator actually works! (when its full it will stop charging)  even though my ipod charger is rated at 1000mA but it seems more weak than the supplied charger

how long does it take for you guys to charge the dingoo from the wall charger? from almost empty to full?

I have had sucsess with a Mottorolla Charger, its shows the Charge process like the official charger and i have not charged fully.

When Dingoo has 1 bar i charge till 3 are on it and it takes about 2 hours to get to that level.

The easiest way of charging the Dingoo (and any mini-USB powered device) is to let your computer's power supply ON and connect via USB the handheld. I usualy let my Dingoo about 8 hours (all night) and in the morning disconnect it and let it cool a bit before using it.

Is it safe to use iPod USB Power Adapter like this one ?

Specifications:

Input: AC 100-240 volts (V), 50/60 hertz (Hz)
Output: DC 5V, 1A

Thanks in the advance!

What are you guys talking about?

I've used the original charger that came with the Dingoo like forever. It's been left plugged in for more than a year, the charger to a surge protector I that is. No problems at all.
It never overheats when charging anything and I use it to charge many more devices than just the Dingoo, I use it to charge whatever device will charge via USB.

I bought my Dingoo in May 2009.
