I was having those issues with a few apps when I first got the phone. After a while they kind of fixed themselves. Apps like GroupeME, and Google search were not connecting, even though I had a internet connection.

I will try to the apps you mentioned to see if they will work.

After testing the apps, it seems you'll have to use an older version of the app. The issue with carousel is that it's a newer app and the oldest version is too high. I am not sure what the issue is as to what changes when the app is updated, but it breaks the functionality on these phones. I notice that I am using an older version of groupme, which works great, and I also had to do the same with Google drive. Google search had an issue but it seems to have fixed itself.

I cant give an answer as to why the apps dont work, but it seems the temporary solution is to install an older version of the apps.

First of all, thanks for the confirmation droidx2. Sorry to have troubled you, if any.

Would it be right for me to confirm that the apps mentioned can't run on your w1 too? I've tried with the much i5s and these apps worked fine. So I can safely say it's the phone itself that's having issues with newer apps. This might not be too good for us unless they updated the firmware. This will also be the case if we were to get the W3D too... Where android rom is still quite old. Hmm..

No trouble at all! I definately hope that issue is fixed in the W3D. It's odd that the Much I5 works with the apps, but the W1 doesn't.

From what I hear, Snail will reach out to the modding community and release the source. I really hope that's true. I'm sure it's a simple solution, but it's beyond me.

That would be good news. Would love a lollipop build of this. For now, one can only hope. Haha. But its nice if this community, or what's left of it, to move on to w3d.

Yeah, the community did wonders for the Xperia Play. I mean, there are people still buying and using this phone today. I honestly, just left my play this year for the Much W1.

I think that the pitfalls that the W3D will have are small and can be easily fixed if left to the community. Updates to Lollipop, Tincore intergration into the Rom, overclocking (I mean, we got 8 cores, lol), maybe even the issue with newer apps not syncing like on the Much W1.
