Linda and I convey our deepest sympathy to the people of New Zealand on the tragic events that have unfolded in Christchurch. This unprecedented act of violence, in a place of peace, freedom and faith has shocked us all.
At a time of great sorrow and heartbreak, we come together as a community to stand with you, our New Zealand friends and neighbours now, and in future days, as we have stood alongside you in the past.
On behalf of the people of New South Wales, I extend our thoughts and prayers to the families and friends of the victims, the survivors and the people of New Zealand.
