oil, acrylic, and paper on canvas

48 in. x 42 1/2 in.

Michelle Fierro (born 1967 in Los Angeles, CA) is an american artist based in Los Angeles. Fierro received a MFA from Claremont Graduate School in 1995. Fierro has exhibited extensively along the West Coast and has been included in several shows in Europe. Her paintings explore spatial relationships through the manipulation of form and color. The oil and mixed media paintings range in scale, and complex compositions are achieved through smudges of color, appended dollops of paint, and pencil lines on roughly treated canvas.

Scenarios V is a three dimensional painting. This abstract painting ranges in colors. Fierro created this piece by manipulation forms and hue. The use of oil paint helps the artist create the three dimensional characteristic in the work. The shapes of the paint slaps are created randomly.
