Start-ups

If you own or are thinking of creating a start-up business — understanding good privacy practices is vital.

Why?

It is key to business success
In our research, we've found that 60% of customers have decided not to deal with an organisation due to concerns about how personal information will be used.

You may be required to comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act)
If your start-up has an annual turnover of $3 million or more and handles personal information, you will be required to comply with the Privacy Act. This may not apply now, but think about what you want your business to be in the future. If it grows to reach the $3 million threshold, the Privacy Act will apply to you.
