VIAGEM was a concert in which the orchestra was made entirely of special needs and disabled people of all ages. The choir were from a local psychiatric hospital. The instruments were all custom made for different levels of physical and mental abilities. The story was an old Portugese legend 'The Elephants Journey'.
I was commissioned to create and preform the visuals which were a mixture of live Quartz Composer programs and pre-programmed flash video and synced subtitles in Portugese over three multiplexed projectors. This concert was a fantastic and valuable production which moved many of the performers, their families and carers. 1000 people were in attendance and there was a standing ovation.
It was performed at the CASA DA MUSICAL in Porto, Portugal on 3 April 2010
