There Are as Many TVs Owned as People in the U.S.

There is almost one television for every person in the United States, totaling about 320 million televisions owned in 96 percent of the households in the country. According to Consumer Technology Association research, each American household owns an average of 2.8 TVs.

The television industry has evolved in the past few years, with smart TVs emerging on the mainstream market. There are now 101 million smart TVs in the country, with 16 percent of households planning on purchasing one in the near future.
