NOTE ON THE GENUS APOTOMUS ILLIGER WITH DESCRIPTION OF A NEW SPECIES FROM CHINA (COLEOPTERA:CARABIDAE)

Apotomus Illiger ranges in Asia,Europe,Africa and Australia,containing fourteen species.One species, Apotomus atripennis Motschulsky,was recorded in Hubei Province of China.One species of the genus is described as new to science in this paper.The type specimen is deposited in the Insect Collections of South China Agricultural University,Guangzhou.
