Indian television actor Shehzad Shaikh who was last seen in Colors TV's Bepannaah as Arjun Hooda is all set to step into the shoes of Rishi Dev as Naksh in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai(YRKKH). Two years back, Rishi had replaced Rohan Mehra after he quit the show. Shehzad is quite elated to bag the role as he was in touch with the casting team of YRKKH and was on a look out for such an opportunity.
Shehzad Shaikh spoke to imwbuzz.com and said that this was the best New Year's gift he could get. He said, "I have always wanted to be part of Yeh Rishta. I used to keep in touch with the casting team to see and find about the opportunity.Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai carries a legacy and it is an honour to be associated with a brand called Mr. Rajan Shahiji and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. It is the best Chritsmas and New Year gift for me. I feel extremely happy.
Shehzad is aware of the responsibility that comes with the role. "I am looking forward to this because with replacing a character comes a certain sense of responsibility. There is certain amount of work that is need to be put into it; so when it comes to stardom and big breaks I am thinking more about taking care of the character that has been built and to make sure that the fans love the change and embrace it immediately. To me the big break will be the day when everybody in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai says that this is the guy we love.
Shehzad Shaikh was quite happy to work with producer Rajan Shahi and was over the the moon when he got to know of this development.
