Details of Severe Tropical Cyclone Wallace at 2:00 am AWST:

Intensity: category 3, sustained winds near the centre of 120 kilometres per hour with wind gusts to 165 kilometres per hour.
Location: within 45 kilometres of 16.3 degrees South, 115.0 degrees East , 530 kilometres north northwest of Karratha and 590 kilometres north of Onslow .
Movement: west southwest at 17 kilometres per hour .

Tropical Cyclone Wallace will continue to track towards the west-southwest this morning then take a more westerly track during Tuesday over open waters, well north of the Pilbara coast. Wallace is forecast to gradually weaken throughout Tuesday and is likely to weaken below cyclone intensity during Wednesday or Thursday at the latest.


Hazards:

Tropical Cyclone Wallace is not expected to impact the WA coast.
